Molly K- Niece killed by elderly driver. Donna V- Bills to be paid and an alcoholic Brother. Gushka- Infection after being bitten by her horse. Her friends' mental health after returning from battle. bergerbuilder- Multiple strokes, out of hospital at end of September. Chi- Friend's passing, (Lewis), after battle with cancer. huerfano- Father's recovery from heart failure. The Oort Cloud- Thalassemia, genetic blood disorder, complicated my hemolytic anemia. "Given" two years by doctor. Hopped up on Something- Immediate Family member with cancer. Bone pain without opioids, Hospital Policy. Publius- Father's health. Rheumatoid arthritis, severe pain during flare-ups. Stamina, in general. Cannibal Bob- Our brother-in-law (my sister's husband) passed away yesterday morning. We are mourning the loss of the gentlest of souls who shared his gift of listening, was a Good Samaritan to any in need and was so close to the earth that you were grounded and at peace just being around him.
-Also, Bob's cousin who just finished chemo has been pronounced in remission. Praise the Lord!
-Our other brother-in-law with the cancer around his heart is doing well with chemo/radiation. We pray that it continues successfully and with few side effects. Insomniac- 1) That my autoimmune disorder will stay under control. 2) That the work situation I have will continue to come together and grow. OregonMuse- Shoulder replacement and recovery. Slapweasel- Father's dementia and Mother's attitude. Jane D'oh- Son's Best Friend was in a terrible automobile accident. Surgeries and long recovery ahead. (1/9/18 ) Iron Mike Golf- My grandsons. Safety and peace for them. Mrs IMG is scheduled for surgery. Cheri- Lost Son, (21), in February to hiking accident. Teresa in Ft. Worth- Lost Daughter, (26) to suicide on September 7th. Alf767- Employment. 60 y.o. ex-pilot in aviation industry. Backwards Boy- B'Gal has Congestive heart failure, COPD, scleroderma and arthritis. Dang- Esophageal cancer. Starting radiation and chemo week of 11/26/17. Methos- (12/12/17) Mother has Alzheimers and friend Herb died shortly before Thanksgiving, leaving a wife with unspecified memory issues and three adult children. LCMS Rulz!- (12/12/17) 1) Advancing dementia in my Mother-in-Law: we're going to have to move her all-too-soon;
2) Praise and Glory be for the near simultaneous cancer healings among three of my in-laws. Michael the Texan- (12/12/17) Difficult divorce from longtime physically abusive wife. Please pray for my wife, too, as this divorce will leave her with much less financial freedom. Elisabeth- (12/12/17) Chronic stress from my perpetually low income is worsening my known autoimmune problems and probably some that haven't yet been diagnosed, and I've just started my fifth course of antibiotics for a recurrent sinus infection and nothing I've tried to improve my income situation (finding a better job, asking for a raise, selling my work, finding cheaper housing) has worked. Plus, I need new glasses but can't afford the eye exam. Redinabluestate- (12/12/17) Prostate cancer. Physics Geek- (12/12/17) Both my mother and stepdad (divorced and not together) are suffering from dementia, with my stepfather's case being somewhat further along. NoLongerInTheBellyoftheBeast- (12/18/17) I need to have prayers added to the list for a friend and cow-orker named Renee who just got diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I could also use prayers for myself. Major joint pain and long term major depression. And prayers for better finances to pay medical bills. Johnny- (12/19/17) About a year and a half ago my wife divorced me. It was all very civil and amicable. Today she told me (texted me) that she is now engaged. This whole time, I've been torn up and depressed, of course, but, I don't know, maybe I was in denial or something, because when she told me that.. Gah. It's really over. That life that I was so excited about, will never come to pass. Tone Staple- (12/19/17) For a relative with Pick's Disease, and for his family. Pick's Disease is a form of dementia that starts with gradual loss of language. Arch Stanton- (12/19/17) My dad is recovering from having a pacemaker put in, and battling COPD. Captain Whitebread- (12/19/17) I've had to go to the local hospital ER a couple of times since heart surgery because I was concerned I might be having more heart trouble. I didn't, but since I didn't have insurance, the bill was huge. I tried paying a little every month, but sometimes I missed because money is really tight.
Monday, I was served with a court summons. The collection agency working for the hospital is taking me to court. I owe $4500. I have no way of paying in full. I have to appear in court with the next 35 days.
All I am asking from the Horde is prayers that a workable solution might be found. I am not asking for money; everyone has done more than enough after my heart surgery and when I almost had my electricity cut off a couple of years ago. I believe that with enough prayer, a way will reveal itself. At this time, I don't know what it is. But I believe there is one. Ladyl- (12/20/17) My dad is back on Hopice and isn't doing great. Anonymous- (12/19/17) ...Her family has to leave the R.V. park because her husband lost his job two months ago. He has a job prospect in Texas so he is going after it. There are 7 of them living in a 16 ft. trailer but the children are always clean and happy. She has been driving for Uber just to keep food on the table. She's scared about moving, trying to be normal for the kids, doesn't know what will happen if this job prospect doesn't work out. She's got such a good heart and is trying so hard, right now she feels a little desperate and tired.
Please pray for her and her family. I know how much it helps. Anonymous- (12/22/17) A dear friend who survived cancer--twice--died unexpectedly Thursday night. Not from cancer. He was one of the kindest, sweetest people I've known. His widow is in shock, and sitting in their house looking at the tree they decorated together, and their gifts to each other under it. Patrick from Ohio- (12/24/17) Can you add my Sister In Law Denise she suffers from LUPUS like symptoms and nothing is really working. JQ- (12/26/17) 'Twas an otherwise Merry Christmas, because it might be Dad's last, as he has advanced cancer. Dad (80s) is ambulatory but slowing down...
The reality of Dad's situation hit hard tonight after I got home and my heart is breaking.

The 9 yr old son of one of my old HS/Church youth group friends wouldn't wake up this morning. They took him to the ER and an MRI found a mass in his brain. A first surgery to remove it was only partially successful, he still hasn't woken up, and he's been back I surgery for the lady couple of hours.
His name is Brody Nelson. I grew up with his mom, Courtney. They and their family could really use a miracle right about now... Gabe- (1/9/18 ) I have a couple of good friends, Patrick Porter and Barbie Turner who are both battling cancer. A petition to the almighty by the horde would be huge IMO. Commander Cobra- (1/9/18 ) Prayers for active Service Members and those who have served. sulla- (1/9/18 ) I'd ask to have my mother and sister-in-law added. My mother broke her shoulder this week, and my sister-in-law is recovering from a liver/kidney transplant. Fox2!- (1/14/18 ) Please add a friend to the list. She is out of the hospital and in rehab. jeannebodine- (1/14/18 ) feeling particularly low right now in this brutal winter. My 68-year old husband suffers from Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease and he is deteriorating rapidly.
We have no family around us and friends are thin on the ground, even though we always had many friends throughout our lives. Even close friends have disappeared.
It sure is a different world out there than the one I grew up in. Prayers would be so appreciated for my husband and for me, a full-time spouse caregiver.

I would like to ask for prayers for myself please.
I had been having worsening breathing. The little voice in my head said; ‘this isn’t right, let’s get to the Dr.’’ They thought I had CHF and maybe pneumonia. The hospital was FULL so no admission, fine, I was managing. They did a thoracentisis to drain fluid from my right lung as it really wasn’t CHF and pneumonia. Somehow the initial results were a nothing-burger, but when I got in to see the pulmonary Dr. the results showed metastatic cancer. I’m completely blown away. This is a recurrence of breast cancer that I had battled 7 yrs ago. Please pray for my husband and myself as this is a mortal blow.
I’m only 53 and I am simply terrified. *Thank you* Deplorable Lady with two Deplorable Cats- (2/4/18 ) Please ask prayers for my long time friend, Stephanie. For the past four years of so she was the sole caretaker of her husband, who was slowly slipping into dementia. Ray passed just a couple days before Christmas. About ten days later, Steph was in the hospital for a few days because of a huge blood clot in her right leg. They were still working on that when she returned to the hospital because of a nasty abcess in her colon. They cut it out, but she has to go back for a resection of her colon in a few weeks to eliminate future problems. auscolpyr- (2/6/18 )- My daughter is an IDD and on the spectrum. Her violent behaviors require her to live at an ICF at which she has improved but still has occasional outbursts in which she wants to be with me. I love her and want her to understand that where she is at is best for her. I pray for her understanding and a ceasing of her negative behaviors before anything escalates.

One morning I was in my classroom early preparing

In Minnesota, you need to show something like a utility bill to get on the rolls. No picture ID needed.
But on voting day, you show up, sign your name, and vote. No ID of any form is required at that point.
As long as you claim to be someone who the poll watcher doesn't know personally, and someone who hasn't already voted, nothing but your own sense of decency is stopping you from saying "hi, I'm mikeski", and signing "mikeski" on the line, and voting in my place.

Michigan requires a photo ID, which the grannies take from you and place against the printed out roll they have , check it, and then check your signature on the voting request form you fill out. Mark you down as getting a ballot and then finally give you your ID back.

We've had it for a LONG while. Our senators have for much of that time been 2 Dems. I've never heard a black politician talk about how it "suppresses the vote" in Michigan.
That's what I try to tell people about the blue states. Voter ID laws are only "racist" in red states, where the Dems try like hell to dilute the conservative vote.

Keep in mind that they will have dogs, so disguising odors and air-tightness are an issue. Gunpowder and gun oils really reek, to a dog.
It's probably a good idea to have some give-away pieces, like the $20 you carry in the front wallet to give to a mugger. If they're in your house with their list and find nothing at all, you're going to lose some walls.

But the money is good to very, very good. Plus we could use some red blood out here to offset the liberals flooding the state

I recall an incident shortly after carry was allowed in National Parks, or at least the Parks were required to hold to state law regarding carry.
First, no way am I going in the backcountry unarmed.
So anyway, I'm hiking with my carry gun, and I happen across a couple of hippie doofus treehuggers. They loudly started following me yelling that "nature is no place for guns!" and "only crazy people have guns." I turned around and said "I know you really don't believe what you're saying."
They said "Shut up, small dick."
I said "I know you don't believe that, because if you really thought I was a crazy person who would go off at the drop of a hat, you wouldn't be following me around like this."
I confess, years later I still savor the looks of horror on their faces as they quickly turned away and left me to my hike.

Technically, most states allow voter registration by mail (a very simple form), and if it's your first time registering in the area, you are supposed to show your ID the first time you go vote. It's rarely enforced, however, as it's a pain in the ass to execute and track. I voted early in 2016, and remember the nice old lady asked what my name was, and I told her. She looked through the rolls, found it, and asked for my address (or maybe my birthday?), which I gave. She then quickly apologized, said she didn't need that information, paused, then literally said "Well, I guess you're who you say you are", gave me a ballot and sent me on my way.

PSA 16" M4 Carbine Length 5.56 NATO 1/7 Nitride Freedom Rifle Kit - 516447301" for $300 and the receiver for $40.
If you were looking for something to compete with or put thousands of rounds through you may need to consider something more expensive, but I'd wager that would give you a decent AR for not much money.
Even better if you got to put it together with a son or friend.

But their anger is focused on the wrong target and I think on purpose. They should be angry with the school, child services, local police and the FBI. But some adults took advantage of the anger and used it to focus on their own agenda, namely the NRA and PDT.

I agree, their response is very expected from someone their age. The first response of a kid is to yell THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW!!! Because the concepts of independence, personal responsibility, discernment, and self control are still not very strong -- particularly in modern kids.

But at least he isn't constantly yammering. However, I've given up on trying to watch the Olympics; the TV schedule here is a mess. And the online App wants me to pay to watch it live streaming. I'm in frac, they are also hiring for wireline, cement, coil tubing and various support roles like e-techs and mechanics. Also things like bulk plant and chem barn. The frac crews are mostly working in Colorado, but wireline is all over and coil is mostly working in North Dakota.
