We are completely set up for the Olympics here, minus athlete housing and spectator accomodations. You wouldn't believe the facilities we have here, and by 'here' I mean over the border in Wisconsin, where most of it would be held.

There are figure skaters that practice in an ice rink not 5 minutes from here that is set up for a possible Olympics.

186 Speaking of skating, besides the SK skater having a major wardrobe malfunction a couple of days ago, ( remember when skating had to finally create new rules regarding costumes which had become less costumes than pole dancers wear), the Canadian pair ice dancers changed a move in their Moulin Rouge routine due to the amount of attention it received. Their original dance had a move in which the female skater cartwheeled onto the shoulders of the male skater so that she was sitting on his shoulders with her crotch right in his mouth . He then proceeded to spin around a few times like this, then she would bend forward and he would flip her up and around, etc. They did this at other international competitions and after it began to be highlighted in everything from Cosmo to USA today( usually with the words , brave, edgy, sexual freedom, etc.) they changed it yesterday so that she was on his shoulders briefly and facing differently. Even Weird and Lipinski said it was a much better esthetic for the lift.

IMO, so far the best skate has been the beautiful skate by the 15 year old Russian girl, in a gorgeous full cover costume with long sleeved gloves. Beautiful, graceful and her jumps are amazing.

Remember just a few short years ago, Indiana, in an attempt to prevent store owners, etc. from being sued for enforcing male /female separate restrooms after a tranny was removed from a women's restroom due to complaints and proceeded to sue for hurt feelings, passed a law which Pence supported as Gov. The law was to shield property owners by granting them immunity from suits, and it required separate facilities for the sexes.

And the madness ensued , with companies threatening to leave, the NCAA talking of leaving and taking tournaments with them etc.

Pence signed a watered down version of the bill. And because Indiana does not have a state law giving class victim status to transgenders, the militant gays are after Pence. Rippon is a militant gay whose gayness is far more important to him than his athletic goals.

Remember at the last summer Olympics, there were gay athletes running over to their partners after an event and planting huge slobbering kisses on them to show the world how freaking fabulous they are. Completely unaware that straight people don't do that kind of thing to simply demonstrate how straight they are.

He signed up for the Marines in December 1941--was trained as a paratrooper (who knew the Marines had some Parachute Regiments). The Corps decided it needed amphibious invaders more than it needed sky divers. So the Parachute Regiments got sent to Guadalcanal in August 1942. Larry (my friend) fought on Guadalcanal, Tarawa and Okinawa. Quite a high school graduation tour. He stayed in the reserves after WW II and got called up for Korea. Chosin Reservoir was the cherry on the sundae so to speak. Whether it was freezing cold at Chosin or hot and humid at Guadalcanal, he got shot at a lot.

With all that he was a hard core lefty. If he'd been alive in 2016 he would have been a Bernie Sanders kind of guy--and certainly a Never Trumper.

Skating judges are always on an anti-American kick, but part of the problem is that Americans love to do physically challenging, athletic moves and Europeans love graceful smooth and beautiful moves, which the judges prefer.

So it doesn't really matter how good the US skaters are, they are doing it wrong, according to ice skating judges.
