RUSSIAN Collusion: Democratic Head of Senate Collusion Probe, Mark Warner, Sought Off-the-Books Back-Channel Communication with Christopher Steele, Using Legal Counsel to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as His Agent

If Democrats make use of RUSSIAN agents, that's, what? Patriotic?

A lobbyist who served as a back channel between Christopher Steele and Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner served as legal counsel to Russia's foreign minister and lobbied on behalf of a Russian oligarch with ties to Paul Manafort.

Documents filed with the Department of Justice show that Adam Waldman of Endeavor Law Firm, served as counsel to Sergey Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, from 2010 until last year. He has also worked for Oleg Deripaska, a billionaire aluminum magnate with close ties to Putin, since 2009.

It took virtually no time at all for Mark Warner to receive the support of his political ally, Marco Rubio.

Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio leapt to Democratic Virginia Sen. Mark Warner’s defense Thursday night after a new report revealed Warner exchanged text messages with a top lobbyist for a Russian oligarch.

Warner texted back and forth with lobbyist Adam Waldman in an effort to contact former British spy Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, Fox News reports. Waldman previously represented Russian billionaire Oleg V. Deripaska, who is known to be close to Putin.

Warner appears to have tried to keep secret his contacts with the lobbyist, saying in one text he would "rather not have a paper trail."

Despite Warner's apparent effort to keep the conversations secret, Rubio defended the Democratic senator as being transparent with the Senate Intelligence Committee. "Sen. Warner fully disclosed this to the committee four months ago," Rubio wrote on Twitter, adding that the material has "had zero impact on our work."

But, as Chuck Ross points out, if Warner admitted this four months ago, that would be seven months after he'd sought this RUSSIAN collusion.

Furthermore, Rubio neatly misses the point: Why is it okay for Democrats to seek out RUSSIAN agents for dirt?

And, if all of this was on the up-and-up, why was Mark Warner so insistent on a secret go-between with "no paper trail"?

It's extraordinary how quickly these cucks will vouch for their Democrat fwiends, apparently believing their Democrat fwiends will do the same for them.

It's adorable -- and sad.

As the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Warner has been heralded by his colleagues as a bipartisan leader and a partner to Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., the committee's chairman.

Is it illegal, for Russians, or even Russia itself, to have Political Speech, in the US?

It would seem thousands of Lobbyists and even some US Politicians have, over the years, espoused Russian goals...

Would it be illegal to ASK Russians or even the Government of Russia, to release information they have?

Now, there is a Law that says a Campaign cannot receive 'anything of value' from foreigners... but that is the campaign finance law, and would be investigated by the Federal Election Board... NOT the DOJ...

So... this witch hunt... what is the underlying LEGAL premise for it?

117 I've been trying to figure the underlying Crime which brought on the Mueller investigation.

Posted by: Don Q.

__________

No, its not. Alan Dershowitz was saying the same thing, Its a political problem not a legal one.

I mean if money changed hands or something like that it would be a bribe (like the Clintons did)

But if its just two people that want the same thing for ideological reasons, than no.

If Trump did something like knowingly request illegal, Russian state sponsored activity like hacking against Hillary or the DNC, that would obviously have legal consequences, but nobody really believes that happened.

They just needed something to make Trump's win seem illegitimate and hope him and his people made some stupid moves and get tangled in process crimes.

In the tall buildings sit the head of our nation
Sit worthy men named Mark and Marco.

But his pal still tried to keep it all in the dark-o.
Now up jumped the U.S. population
They're the ones with the tired eyes

To stop this endless backstabbing collusion.

And so it goes and so it goes
And so it goes and so it goes

244 Here are Rubio's "problems"
1. Rubio is probably tied in with the dossier in some way because Singer/Washington Beacon (Bill Kristol son in law) were the original Fusion GPS funders. It has always been rumored that Rick Wilson of Rubio super pac fame (who will not go away and promotes this Russia BS daily) started the whole dossier. Then Rubio dropped out.Fusion GPS was already illegally spying on the Trump camp when Rogers shut them down in April 2016 so when Hillary hired them, they might have already had a start on the dossier, plan B.
2. John Brennan and his spying Awans had dirt on everyone but was only used on problematic dems like Menendez with Cuba and the Iran deal and ANY republican. The media only accepts dirt on republicans, blows the tiniest nothing into breaking news, and ignores any democratic scandal, large or small. Thus you have constantly terrified republicans who won't stand up, fight back, and do the right thing.

Given the asinine "Top Two" Open of "Jungle" Primary System this state now has, what the California GOP needs is a "pre-primary" where registered Republicans can vote by mail and choose the Republican to vote for in the Top Two / Open / Jungle Primary.

At this point, Travis Allen seems to be the only GOP hope.

I warned people up and down NOT go approve such a stupid primary system, but the fools did anyway.

330 The degradation can be almost entertaining some times.

Local radio, incessant ads from "veteran owned!" companies pushing stupid, uneconomical residential solar power - so confident in their audience's stupidity that they push "patriotic" themes while warning that "the subsidies are going to run out - act now!!!!".

Best part? They lead off with rock-stupid demagoguery about "local utility raising your rates again!! eleventy!! ebil!". Yeah - the local utilities that are regulated to the point they are Soviet state enterprises, and forced to use unicorn dust for energy, and their rates totally controlled by a public commission - THEY ARE EVIL CORPORATIONS!!!!! (spittle) raising their prices!

Get your stupid welfare-based solar power to strike back against the evil utility! And we're veteran-owned!

(biggest local "conservative" radio host used to be the main voice hired to lynch-mob rally against the local utility in several solar ads - it's just beautiful)

357 Re SSCI - yep, chairman, Burr - useless.

Donna/others - as I said above. GOP is taking a very risky approach to the mid-terms here. Staking everything on no economic hiccups, continued/worsening Dem insanity, and continuing scandal spectacle, moving into IG report Tsar Bomba and actual indictments/plea deals.

In other words - no reason to vote *for* them, just the "OMG look at the other side!" fear campaign.

With appropriations now gone for a long time, very unlikely Congress/Trump will accomplish anything of note prior to November. Very unlikely. And the Dems "resistance"/obstructionism will now be much easier - not really much of a lever to use against them.

Mitch says he's bringing up an immigration bill with wide open amendment process soon. This might be a chance to sweat vulnerable Dems on key votes. So there may be some potential there. But the GOP has not really engaged in serious politics for so long, I'm skeptical.

The "leadership" cannot conceive of any way to win except by default - oh, and by-now comically mendacious misrepresentation to their rube voters in many districts and states (and that description is richly deserved, at this point).

To be fair. minority party Congressional perks are much better these days. Taft had to work for a living.

Interesting paragraph from Wikipedia:

"Taft won election to the United States Senate in 1938, defeating incumbent Democrat Robert J. Bulkley. He became a leader of the conservative coalition of Republicans and conservative Democrats who successfully opposed expansion of the New Deal after 1938. He also emerged as a prominent non-interventionist and opposed U.S. involvement into World War II prior to the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor. After the war, he opposed the creation of NATO and criticized President Harry Truman's handling of the Korean War. He also cosponsored the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, which banned closed shops and other labor practices."

I don't want shooting. Selfishly, it means crappy coffee, and no butter or sugar or good meat. What's the point of living? And it won't really solve much. It is a battle for minds and culture. A war won't change that, IMO. We'll just end up with a new and terrible constitution. I believe the people who want power (Obama, et al.) do want a war. Who do you think people will turn to should that happen.

If people were "doing" our democracy as defined, we would be fine. But traitors all over the place , a corrupt press, and a stupid populace equals current insanity. And it is insanity. And if you read the corrupt MSM then of course you think the sky is falling. It is filling people's head with garbage. Garbage in, garbage out. And people live on feelz, not logic.

I don't see anyone doing anything to change the status quo of the Uni-party. We have the establishment and deep state aligned against the people. Hurling headlong toward socialism & open borders bcz it means they will have even more power. Trump has stalled their progress, but not stopped it.

The only way that changes is fresh blood who hark back to the days of real Republican values. Governance that wants to enforce laws and borders. People who are patriotic vs. our current scum. I see no movement on that. No reason to believe things will change, even with FBI indictments.

I hope I'm wrong. really wrong.

but he's taken the number of those that will be let in from 800,000 to 1.6 mill I think?

He just voted for a budget bill that adds 13% to our debt and there isn't that much of a col increase that much.

And that budget doesn't include the Wall.

He's nominated people who have opposing views to what he himself has said is his to positions that will be important to stop illegal immigrants. Like the new head of DHS who has stated that she's all for Dreamers.

I didn't mark them all down so I can't repeat them here but he's done some things that seem to be counter to what he claims he wants to see done. The main one for me is this latest budget bill and no funds for a Wall.

Like I said I hope he's doing a hat trick and we just can't see it. I really do.
