The House That Pocahantas Built: Come Tour the Gold-Plated Temple to Bureaucracy That King Obama Built for Princess Elizabeth Warren

You can always tell you're getting good honest government from the opulence of the seraglios they build with your money.

Mick Mulvaney, the [Consumer Financial Protection Board's] acting director, graciously allowed The Daily Caller News Foundation to take an exclusive tour on Feb. 1 of the federal office -- founded by Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts -- that has been widely criticized for cost overruns and extravagance.

Ignorance is knowledge. War is peace. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau exists to spend consumers' finances like drunken sailors who just found out they've been drinking fermented AIDS.

...

The first thing that stands out is that the office space does not feel like a government building at all. It could be an upscale hotel, a college campus or a corporate headquarters.

"There was interest to move this above a Class C Building," said a CFPB source familiar with the renovation and the operation of the building. "Now it's a Class A building," he told TheDCNF.

The Building Owners and Managers Association International, which represents owners and managers of all commercial office buildings, describe Class A buildings as "the most coveted buildings in the marketplace."

The $124 million spent to date for the 303,000 square foot office building is $409 per square foot, more than Trump World Tower, which cost $334 per square foot or Las Vegas' Bellagio Hotel and Casino, priced at $330 per square foot.

Why shouldn't you have all the nice things just because you're a socialist?

Socialist Opulence is, like government, what we all do together. It's just that only a certain Elect get to benefit from it.

The whole atmosphere of the huge block of flats, the richness and spaciousness of everything, the unfamiliar smells of good food and good tobacco, the silent and incredibly rapid lifts sliding up and down, the white-jacketed servants hurrying to and fro -- everything was intimidating.

The passage down which I was led was softly carpeted, with cream-papered walls and white wainscoting, all exquisitely clean. That too was intimidating. I could not remember ever to have seen a passageway whose walls were not grimy from the contact of human bodies.

In reading the lawsuit I noticed that a lot of the employees who were leading the mob against any white, male employees with traditional values were foreigners - from Ireland, Sweden, etc. These are people who have no clue, no respect for free speech and they have so dang much control over what we see on the internet. I hear you. The building I work in has signs all over warning against drilling or otherwise disturbing the walls and moving the ceiling panels due to asbestos. Then there's the multiple parts of the building that are no go zones due to mold issues. When Hurricane Irma rolled past, the windows on the sides of the building that took the winds all leaked, resulting in the carpet being soaked about 20 feet in. Carpet, mind you, that has been down since 1991. This is on an Army base.

Fifty years old? Hell, that's barely broken in. In Europe -
at a premier university, no less - I worked in a building a LOT older than that, that was next to a major road and had no AC, so the lab was filthy with dirt every day, had no deionized water, had a roof that leaked like a sieve, had lecture theaters that looked like morgues, that effectively wasn't heated in the winter (it was common to have to thaw out bottles of DMSO), etc. You get the picture. It would have been an embarrassment to a Third World country.

To just leave now, just like the way Barry did in Iraq, makes the sacrifices of the men and women who died and lost limbs, seem like a damned waste of time.

I work in a 50 year old lab building that's falling

apart and is no longer adequate to the work, much less an appealing
place to be. It's a dump, in the dumpiest part of DC. After 35 years,
though, I got an office with a window, so I can see the monuments and
the nice side of town 5 miles away.

Perhaps the CPFB folks could move in with us. After all, they're all in it for the little guy.

Fifty years old? Hell, that's barely broken in. In Europe -

at a premier university, no less - I worked in a building a LOT
older than that, that was next to a major road and had no AC, so the lab
was filthy with dirt every day, had no deionized water, had a roof that
leaked like a sieve, had lecture theaters that looked like morgues,
that effectively wasn't heated in the winter (it was common to have to
thaw out bottles of DMSO), etc. You get the picture. It would have been
an embarrassment to a Third World country.

"As a constituent I'm asking you to vote against this budget deal. It's larding the budget w/ more bucks that will be stuck in there forever. You as a Republican were elected to reduce the deficit, this bill does not do that. Vote NO!

If you don't do so I'm voting for your opponent in the primary, count on it. I'd like a reply from your office, as I've never got one. We pay your salary and bloated benefits, Could I get the courtesy of a reply or will your office continue to ignore me?

I'm going to keep sending this email every day till I get a response. And after that it's going to the local paper if I get no response."

Just clean it. Nothing special. With a pistol there's nothing to worry about, just make sure you clean it when you get home. The annoying thing is using it in gas guns where you have to clean out the whole gas system and op rod and crap too.

I know that, I totally do.
It just seems like half the time, I get back from the range and have a stack of honey-do items waiting for me. Or the dog needs another walk or attention or this that and the other thing.

Guns can sit in the gun bag for a good week before I remember to go back and clean them.

That's why I love the XD. Those things love to run dirty. They feed everything. The Croats got something very right in the design there.

445 >>You spent to much time in DC, and the power corrupts you. Sigh

Very true. But I don't think that's the case with Gowdy.

I have always thought he was doing an excellent job. In fact, we likely wouldn't be talking about President Trump if it hadn't been for his Benghazi hearings first finding Hillary's private emails. And he's leaving on his own, in his district he could stay forever, to just go home and be a lawyer again.

I think it might be time to start considering we aren't losing anymore and things are playing out pretty much perfectly.

I almost think I see the ocean beginning to draw back from the beach before the wave sweeps across the Land of the Donk Traitors destroying all in its path. The media is going to fight this to the death because they not only supported them they ARE them. So anything that comes out has to be perfect. Beyond perfect.
