Demented Nancy Pelosi's Statement on The Memo

1. She says that the memo does not "protect sources and methods." The only sources mentioned in the memo are:

a) Christopher Steele, who we already knew about

b) FusionGPS, who we already knew about

and

c) Michael Isikoff's article for Yahoo News, which was of course a publicly-available article -- we just didn't know the fucking FBI and DOJ used that article to "corroborate" the Steele memo (despite that article being based on what Steele told Isikoff!!!)

As far as the "methods" exposed -- yes, a major method of the FBI and DOJ was indeed exposed. That method is called "Lying to the court."

I do not think that is an approved method of intelligence gathering, nor do I think the national security interests are well-served by keeping that "method" ongoing and secret.

Seems to me that this is the sort of method that would be approved of by Red Nan's friend, Vladimir Putin.

And look at this asshole:

What classified information was revealed? It was scrubbed by all agencies for classified information.

Also, this was all done on the up-and-up -- it was voted to be published by Congress, and then given to the President, who has declassification authority, for review.

Say, Jimmy, you know who did leak classified information but who did not do so legally and who does not have declassification authority?

You did, asshole. And I'll cheer when a special prosecutor is appointed to put your ass in jail.

122 I'm studying the palace intrigue involving Queen Esther of the Bible, the Israelite woman. It's full of coincidences too. One day Mordecai is supposed to hang, the next day he's being paraded around town as the King's second in command. About 53 things happen between these two events. Just coincidentally. My, what a lucky man he was.

I love the book of Esther. Its not just a neat story, but it has fascinating depths to it. Like how Haaman was one of the last survivors of a tribe that harrassed the Jews in the desert on the way to the promise land and spent their entire existence trying to destroy Israel.

But ultimately, read through New Testament eyes, you can see how Esther is the savior of the people, the priestess speaking the words of God, and the queen: Prophet, Priest, King. She's a Christ figure, pointing to his arrival one day, rising from little more than a slave to become one of the most beloved and honored figures in Persian history, saving her people.

Your other posts today have also been excellent and insightful.

294 Also, the idea that "media reports" are a legitimate backup for intelligence in the FISA warrant process is also a bullshit "method".

The media cannot be trusted to tell the truth, and it's exceptionally unlikely that considering a media report as "independent" research is idiotic. Just because a source - ANY SOURCE - tells the media the same thing they'd tell the FBI does not make it "independent". Maybe we need a law for that.

The media is not a "source" of intelligence. Just the contrary. The media is a source of UN-intelligence.

Jack ... I'm willing to concede every pure fact you've ever posted about this investigation is materially correct. Frankly - I think you have your information down cold. And I applaud your diligence.

None of that is sarcasm. I'm quite serious.

But here's my question - do you think this will be settled in a Court of Law ? Because I'm quite serious ... I don't think the highest folks who are guilty of Treason are willing to go down like that.

At some point - I think either everyone settles on letting the Lesser Players hang ... like Pawns in a Game, same as always ... or there's serious Gun-Play that has to happen.

I hope - especially considering how much you and I argue - that I phrased that question neutrally. Because I really meant to. I'd just like your honest answer - free of any kind of argumentative rebuttal by me.

question: if Putin wanted Trump to win, why would Russian intelligence people supply info to Steele that could have cost Trump the election?

353 Please note the NeverTrump/Dem collusion that the "real bombshell" and "own goal" is the Papadopoulos paragraph.

Who gives a fuck? Papadopoulos wasn't interviewed until Mueller and they never sought a FISA warrant on him. They sought a FISA warrant on Page, and broke the law to get it.

They're trying to say this "contradicts" the memo's conclusions, but it really doesn't. Just like they say that quoting James Comey on "salacious and unverified" is a misquote. Uhh, if it can contains info that's salacious and unverified, then the document is salacious and unverified. Failing to disclose that to the court is wrong. Just because *some* of it is true means nothing, especially since they've never told us which parts are true besides the fact Page was in fact in russia.

396 The bad faith and obstruction of the DOJ/FBI under *Sessions/Rosenstein and Wray* simply require some explanation.

If you follow the twatters of a few people in the know (Rep. Jordan's a good one), you know that this has been going on, non-stop, for nearly a year. It continued up to yesterday, WRT the "memo".

The public affairs trainwreck of DOJ/FBI is simply mind-boggling in the last 48 hours. Publicly crossing the White House, with specific claims that prove to be, of course, ludicrously false (memo betrayed no real secrets, and any omissions can be remedied by DOJ/FBI instantaneously).

In effect, Sessions' DOJ and Wray's FBI are *doubling down* on the arrogance, criminality, and cluelessness of their Obama-era degradation. Openly. Stridently.

Long past time for Speaker Ryan/Leader McConnell, with their respective intel and judiciary committee chairmen, to publicly toss the gauntlet (at Trump). DOJ and the FBI need to start obeying their oversight masters, or $$$$ will stop flowing.

Flynn stupidly plead guilty.

I think at the time it was the only rational play for him to make. I'm wondering though, now that the judge that heard the plea is recused is it possible for a clever lawyer to reverse that? What conflict for the judge existed at sentencing that did not exist when the plea was made? Seems to me you could make a case that Flynn knew he was being railroaded so that is why he did it. Then again I'm not a lawyer.

473 >>I hope - especially considering how much you and I argue - that I phrased that question neutrally. Because I really meant to. I'd just like your honest answer - free of any kind of argumentative rebuttal by me.

I think some will be prosecuted and some won't, mostly for political reasons.

What is obvious to me and nobody is really talking about is that this scandal starts with one Barack Hussein Obama. He will never be prosecuted. Outed, sure but not prosecuted. Trump will probably pardon him for the good of the nation blah, blah, blah.

But that's where this is headed. That's the good news and why this is taking so long. There is simply no way that Obama's entire intel community save for Mike Rogers, was in on this and he didn't know.

Further, this wasn't about Trump so much as it was to cover what was going on with FISA abuse and warrantless spying on Americans for years and other corruption. Hillary would never have exposed that but Trump would and is and for that reason he was a mortal threat.

They used some of the same techniques on Trump that they were using for years. This isn't conjecture, the FISA court themselves has agreed that the Obama administration misused the 702 process for years. We got that last April when DNI Coates released the classified FISA findings which was very unique and should have set off alarm bells. We got mostly crickets.

And in the last couple months the DOJ has reopened the CGI investigation, the Obama Hezbollah investigation, the Uranium One investigation and others that Obama tried to bury. They are all connected. They are the reason they so desperately wanted to crush Trump.

But it's silly to say people won't be prosecuted simply because under Obama and Holder and Lynch they weren't. No shit. Obama and his whole administration was corrupt and people expected that they would police themselves?

Much if not most of the stuff Congress has been releasing is coming from the IG investigation. He started giving them documents from his investigation a few weeks ago and that's when bombs started dropping. And it is just the tip.

Watergate was simple compared to this scandal and it took years to come to fruition. We are one year into this one. Yea, I expect there will be many prosecutions when this is all said and done. Many.

475 So wouldn't the revelations on the governments bullshit reasoning for the FISA request basically cut Flynn loose? I mean if that's what snagged him, I don't know? Maybe that's why Mueller asked for a delay? Again, just speculating. I would think that any evidence gained by the FISA warrant would be tainted to the point of being inadmissible.

Trump administration, having done its homework, can "work" a shutdown, maintaining key functions, icing marginal or bad ones, and even effecting permanent cut-backs in select areas.

548 BRAIN DAMAGE:

@hughhewitt 31m
I bought the concerns of FBI/ DOJ that sources and methods might be compromised by release of HIC memo. Been over it many times and I don't see how that is possible. So what were they worried about? I suspect it is this: That an American got the full body cavity search for a

year on a very flimsy set or arguments the obvious weaknesses of which were not disclosed to FISC, and once that settles in and is separated from Trump/Mueller context, it could give pause to many -including me- who have long supported robust surveillance authorities because we

believed the walls against abuse were very very high and, to our knowledge, never breached
. Carter Page, because he is such an unserious appearing person, is not the sort of American you want held up as example of very dangerous folks who need to be watched closely. It seems

absurd. So what the heck was going on here? Best case (not for Page) is that @FBI knew with certainty that Russians were using him knowningly or unknowingly. Worst case: @FBI/DOJ wanted full knowledge of all his conversations with people who might know the president or his team.

***
Got that? Hugh just may reconsider his love of the universal surveillance state now.

A few years later, I went to Applebees with friends. I was there to spend time with them, not to eat. Two of them ordered the steak. Both of them got the exact same piece of crap I'd received. It's incredible they could be that consistently terrible.

Give him Carter Page's number and tell him its a girl who looks like Cindy Crawford at age 20. He calls it, wrong number. Boom - a link between the 2. The manager was great. After a few refills we could just order more riblets and skip the fries. Tender and tasty. yum yum. I don't think the riblets were coming out of the manager's paycheck.

695 Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee,

A wee fisking called for here.

"Dishonest and misleading" -- Erm, multiple agency reviews found no factual errors; maybe misleading in the sense these same reviewers with an axe to grind claim there are some omissions of fact.

"wrecked the House intel committee" -- Eh, the House intel committee, like every other committee with Dems in it (that would be ALL of them), have been intensely partisan since the Reign of Jug Eared Error and his divisive ways.

"destroyed trust with Intelligence Community" -- You, Mr. Coneyhead, as part and parcel of said IC, did much more than claims you might make about Nunes. Also, remember all the recent leaks? These came from info captured by that same IC, distributed to anti-Trump partisan hacks, and then leaked by them to unfriendly presstitutes.

"damaged relationship with
FISA court" -- Really? See Ace's post two threads below if you REALLY want to see how to fuck with the FISA Court relationship. They should be filing for a restraining order against the IC for violent abuse and stalking.

But, beyond that -- even taking it all at the assertion that it was only about Carter Page after he left the campaign --

the system has been creating a "tax" on anyone who would dare serve in a republican administration. On a long term basis that is a terrible thing. It denies all of us the chance to be served by decent people who are not rich enough to pay unending legal bills.

But today big clues that are even hard to miss (the outrage from the base, for instance) have dropped. - Here's hoping they pick up on those too.

724 do you have to vacuum seal it in plastic to sous vide?

You do have to put it in plastic, but not necessarily with a vacuum sealer. I get freezer storage Ziploc bags and put the steak in there. You seal it almost all of the way and slowly lower it into the water. The air gets forced out and you close the bag the rest of the way just before the water reaches the opening. Viola, vacuum sealed.

The reason for removing the air is air will insulate the steak from the heat of the water. Air will also cause the steak to float to the top of the bath. You don't want that.

Interestingly, I could it in San Diego because one of my buddies was an instructor at a Navy school that had Aussie sailors often attending the course. well, that might be less bad, were you not considering that it is a major breech of ethics, law, procedure. however, not spying directly on Trump or his campaign does not mean that that was not their goal, they were simply going through the round about way of incidental collection, spying on page hoping to get info on Trump.
