If you can find a way to get outsider candidates that can successfully primary a sitting RINO and then win the general I'm open to suggestions. And by "way" I also mean money.
The GOP-e is not going to just roll over and die. They will fight like Democrats if their power is threatened by outsiders, as we have seen time and again.
That said, I think maybe the collapse of the Collusion investigation and the Winning has allowed the GOP to sort of actually grow a pair and join the bandwagon.

A well managed shut-down (with a shot at doing some RIFs as a consequence, and no EO to pay govt. employees during the furlough), with the Dems dying on the hill of DACA, while the administration and GOP hammer the border security/immigration reform themes.
And FFS, any "DACA" must be a "skinny" version - with extremely tight vetting (that alone will reduce the numbers, materially) to heightened standards, and zero chain migration.
Border barrier and personnel, end to chain migration, end of lottery, mandating e-Verify, etc. are not "swapping" goods for DACA - they are urgently needed practical measures to *neutralize* the known, horrific effects of any amnesty. And that's exactly how these things should be discussed.
But that's not going to happen. The least-worst GOP simply cannot discuss these issues in intelligent terms, and half of them favor disastrously stupid things like DACA (and Trump seriously degraded his own leverage with his own DACA burblings).

Last week some GOP congresscritter (can't remember who) pointed out the obvious, for the benefit of the WH: this may well be the *last* chance Trump has to get *any* immigration gainzzz of note in his first term. Absent a GOP blowout in the Senate, reaching 60+ (Graham and a few others are as stupid on immigration as a Gutierrez or a Durbin), this seems like an obvious, mundane observation.
Demand everything in exchange for a skinny DACA. Or count on selling promises of real immigration fixes a 2nd time, for 2020 - with few results to show for the first term.

My standard rant on commie motivations being nothing but destruction (and shooting kneeling Kulaks in the back of the neck) is more relevant than ever, which is why I've been beating it on the HQ like it owes me money.
Ran that by my Aunt and Uncle while visiting family for Christmas over a year ago. Both are fairly right-wing, we have a lot of fun discussing issues together. Uncle totally agreed with with the rant at the time, Aunt, not so much. In fact, she flat out said "I don't believe that's true at all".
This year, after watching the Donks try their little coup de etat, she came right out and said that I was right the first time, the last year had convinced her to change her mind.
The thing is, she's a smart lady, but she doesn't live and breathe politics to the same degree that I do. She has a real life.

He's not doing it with a subordinate or in a work environment and he didn't deny it under oath, and maybe he's changed since then.

Our family sat together this morning with the Medical Examiner Coroner's office and we were informed of their final analysis that Tom Petty passed away due to an accidental drug overdose as a result of taking a variety of medications.
Unfortunately Tom's body suffered from many serious ailments including emphysema, knee problems and most significantly a fractured hip.
Despite this painful injury he insisted on keeping his commitment to his fans and he toured for 53 dates with a fractured hip and, as he did, it worsened to a more serious injury.
On the day he died he was informed his hip had graduated to a full on break and it is our feeling that the pain was simply unbearable and was the cause for his over use of medication.
We knew before the report was shared with us that he was prescribed various pain medications for a multitude of issues including Fentanyl patches and we feel confident that this was, as the coroner found, an unfortunate accident.
As a family we recognize this report may spark a further discussion on the opioid crisis and we feel that it is a healthy and necessary discussion and we hope in some way this report can save lives. Many people who overdose begin with a legitimate injury or simply do not understand the potency and deadly nature of these medications.
On a positive note we now know for certain he went painlessly and beautifully exhausted after doing what he loved the most, for one last time, performing live with his unmatchable rock band for his loyal fans on the biggest tour of his 40 plus year career. He was extremely proud of that achievement in the days before he passed.
We continue to mourn with you and marvel at Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' incredible positive impact on music and the world. And we thank you all for your love and support over the last months.
Thank you also for respecting the memory of a man who was truly great during his time on this planet both publicly and privately.
We would be grateful if you could respect the privacy of the entire Heartbreaker family during this difficult time.

To be honest, if you want to do that level of change at the federal level, you have to start at the state level.
Taking out squishy Republicans in Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, and in every other deep red state. Trying to replace squishy Democrats with squishy Republicans in purple states.
In a decade of forcing that level of change, then you can start moving those people up into Federal House seats as well as more important state level seats. 5-10 years after that, then you start replacing governors and US Senators.
Neophytes almost always lose. If you want to build a stronger, more conservative Republican Party, you have to do it from the ground up and have a lot of patience.

They're going to need to show us at least a little ankle or knee. I don't think the American public can hear just hyperbole about what's in this report and just say, "Ah we understand".
Plus, that gives a HUGE breach to the opposing party (like the GOPe cares!!) to push through--that it was all a partisan hoax and nothing burger and that all the people on your side fell for it (what bubble-dupes!) and who shameful it is that you tried to shame the other party on what amounted to nothing.
That would be embarrassing--but I'm not a Republican because I don't put even that past Republicans (and I don't know why--I suspect some things, but I don't know them.)

This is practically being *handed* to them. There should be no way they can screw it up. So I would hope that they are doing it right. A release of the memo (in due time) that *confirms* the scuttlebutt we're hearing? Dems will be demoralized in November--if their handlers don't foment them into a big insurrection in the time being. And again if true, this is all they've got on the guy? I'm amazed, actually. I saw something some time ago about the WSJ planned to run an article during the primaries or election about his business dealings with the Mafia.
Can anyone tell me how you built buildings in NYC from the 1970s through at least the 1990s and not have to deal with the Mafia? Not possible.
Aside from that I expected something shady to surface probably with business matters. Nothing did.

I think people are really under appreciating just how big this scandal is going to be. The Mueller investigation is going to be over if not immediately then soon thereafter. Lots of firings and prosecutions and then it will start climbing the senior ranks of the Obama political administration.
No way Holder and Lynch didn't know at this and if they did then obviously Obama did. Getting proof is going to be the hard part and the media is going to fight back at every step.
They've come to far to risk blowing it by leaking a document instead of doing it properly.

That's what I suspect. But still a thorough analysis requires asking what's the worst case. And how does that match to what else is going on. So, we're examining the Stormy scenario, and not really seeing much IF true that would warrant removing support from Trump (It's not even CLOSE)
I want a collapse of the Dems. Then if the Dems go down, and when the Dems fall and fewer people are listening to them, it will be easier to notice how partisan the mainstream of the media has been. And then, hopefully, that falls.
Then it removes the white noise machine which tried to drown out the political choices of one side of America.
