Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Apple Says It Will Repatriate $250 Billion to US in Next Five Years, Add 20,000 Jobs in the USActually, they say they'll be "contributing" $350 billion ($100 billion more than the $250 billion they have in foreign accounts) to America. They might be talking about another $100 billion in capital investments in the US, plus the impact of adding 20,000 jobs. They might also be contemplating direct donations to charitable causes or starting their own charitable foundation, as some companies have done in the wake of tax reform. Not sure how they come to that particular $350 billion figure. But anyway, they're bringing practically all their offshore money into the US, and will wind up paying $38 billion in taxes (to America) for that privilege.

This is true. We are talking levels of toilet bowls and worse. Considering the stomach flu virus can live up to 3 days on anything (and only pure bleach will kill), you play roulette. It is really disgusting. I don't know if it applies to coins as much as paper. Anyway, stick to credit cards during flu season if ya can. Last time I had a stomach virus it is b/c someone made one call on my phone. I cleaned it off when I got it back. But her son had stomach flu, which I did not know, and only pure bleach kills that. I've posted this elsewhere, but I'll do it again here. These big announcements are the tip of the iceberg. I'm Canadian, I've worked for manufacturing companies, now I'm with an accounting firm. All of my manufacturing experience was with companies that made stuff in Canada and shipped most of it to the US. Some of those companies opened plants in Mexico to save on labour, I know of some others that tried that and came back because it was just too difficult for small companies to deal with Mexico BS. Recently idiot Trudeau made some tax changes that will greatly affect small and medium sized business owners negatively. Now Trump has done the opposite in the US. The accounting firm I work for has for years had a 'product' they use to help small business owners with retirement, to either sell or pass the business to their kids and avoid excess costs with that process. Now I just received an email from a partner saying they are modifying this product because of the sudden uptick of Canadian business owners who want to sell or move their business to the US. 1000's small businesses > big companies.

Posted by: #neverskankles at January 18, 2018 03:50 PM (Ng/V5) But even if they're low end call center jobs, that creates pressure on the bottom of the labor market. If, say, we had natural restrictions on the supply of labor (ahem, immigration), and a huge demand for "low end" labor, what would then be expected to happen? High demand, constrained supply... why, that should mean increases in wages, shouldn't it? Isn't that what the left is always yammering on about? Burger flippers should make $15 an hour? Well, the quickest fucking way to make that happen is if the labor market is constrained to the point of companies essentially bidding against each other for "minimum wage" job seekers. The Democrats are desperately trying to keep the tax withholding tables from being updated before the midterms, so voters don't find out how much they are saving.
The D's are using the argument that given the changes in the tax law, people's circumstances can differ, so some people might be under withheld if you use the standard withholding tables. (This has always been true, of course.) Of course, the Treasury can get the numbers right in aggregate - but the D's are **so** concerned that there are a few people who might get under withheld. In their China place they bragged their workers lived on site, so if a major update had to be implemented, they could call them in at any hour and work long hours till finished. There is indeed a certain cultish 'The Circle' type inbreeding that has happened, as we saw with the O'Keefe videos (or Berkeley antifa, or most campuses). And there are indeed issues with letting China come in and buy up our country piece by piece, as they are doing in many places. The globalists won't just roll over, and the Chinese have plans to run the world by 2525. But right now we have to root out deep state right in DC ... step by step. But keep both eyes open and "be woke" ... this will take time. Posted by: illiniwek at January 18, 2018 04:01 PM (otAqJ) 312

I actually wouldn't mind seeing some sort of federal tax legislation that penalizes companies when states give subsidies to specific firms like this and pick and choose winners.
It's the small business owner that gets shafted because politicians want to chase that headline of "landing" a big company. but then jack up everyone else's rate to pay for it. I don't know about the 200 free food thing, or how it has changed since Oprah, but growing up I know it helped people lose weight and keep it off. In fact, it was the only thing. My mother struggled with her weight, and it was only thing that worked. She never let us kids eat sugar, and between that and genetics we are all slim. Though this cold winter has me putting on some poundages. But I think she went too far on the sugar thing. No cookies and milk after school. No desserts after dinner. I would never go that far. We were really active kids, and it would 't have hurt us. But I'm getting off topic. Posted by: Professor Chaos Gumdrop Gorilla Channel at January 18, 2018 04:18 PM (9wYFF) 412
