The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

Wow. We chimps try to protect our own. At the very least we would have thrown poo at him. We certainly wouldn't have protected him and abetted his vile crimes.

What MSU knew: 14 were warned of Nassar abuse: 8 women reported abuse claims, at least one of which reached president

The MSU administration knew what this guy was doing. The campus Keystone Kops knew what he was doing. The coaches and trainers knew what he was doing. Hell, even some lawyer knew what he was doing.

So the next time some asshat defends the idea of universities doing their own criminal investigations , throw this case in his face. These reprehensible maggots did nothing when little girls were being molested, because it would have been awkward to come forward, and maybe their nice income derived from the gymnastic program would be cut off. So they did nothing, and the monster continued his evil ways.

Everyone involved should be fired and then charged with child endangerment. Starting with the president of the university.

Fisherman who jumped into river to avoid oncoming motorboat sues helmsman

Oh boy. Anyone who has ever been on the water can appreciate this video. I have been sailing since I was about six, and some of my earliest memories are of my father carefully avoiding motorboats and being very, very aware of what was going on around us. But in this case there was pretty much nothing to be done.

Well, maybe a Browning .50 caliber machine gun mounted on the stern would have helped....

I've always made it a rule to not bring politics (or religion, or sex) into work discussions. There are a handful of people I've learned it's "safe" to discuss these topics with, but generally, leave it at home.

It's work; we're supposed to cooperate.

Attention Allscripts Clients: Information on Ransomware Attack

We want to ensure all Allscripts clients are aware of an ongoing issue regarding a ransomware attack that is currently affecting certain applications in two of our data centers.

As we've communicated to many affected clients already, early on the morning of January 18, we became aware of a ransomware incident that has impacted our hosted Professional EHR service and our Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances ("EPCS") service, which are hosted in our Raleigh and Charlotte, NC data centers. According to industry reports, we are one of dozens of companies impacted by this attack, which is a variant of the SamSam ransomware.

As a precaution, Allscripts has severed the connection to the Raleigh and Charlotte data centers to mitigate any further spread of the ransomware. As a result, other unaffected applications and functionality housed in the same data centers may be temporarily unavailable, including Payerpath, AAP, Infobutton, Subscription Manager, C-CDA, and Direct Messaging.

We are working diligently to restore these systems, but we do not currently have a firm ETA for when service will be restored. Therefore it is possible these services may not be available tomorrow. We will contact you when we establish an ETA.

Although our investigation is ongoing, there is currently no evidence that any data has been removed from our systems.

We're committed to providing ongoing updates each day until the issue is resolved. If your technical team would like to set up time to discuss the matter with our technical team, contact incidentresponse@allscripts.com, and we'll arrange a call for tomorrow, January 19.

When they arrived there were two people in the water, bits of fiberglass from the run-over fishing boat, and the other boat stopped some yards away. The driver of the one boat was arrested for drunk boating by the sheriff's marine patrol - he was actually trying to get one of his passengers to agree to take the blame and say they were driving and not him.

Border Patrol were about a mile away and said it sound like an

some yards away. The driver of the one boat was arrested for drunk
boating by the sheriff's marine patrol - he was actually trying to get

101 I found the article about the boater. Here are some fun bits:

"Clatsop County sheriff's deputies accused boat driver Marlin Lee
Larsen of several crimes after the 75-year-old told investigators he
couldn't see where he was driving because he was sitting down and the
dash of his boat was blocking his view. Larsen said he probably should
have been standing, according to the sheriff's report, which notes
Larsen uses a motorized scooter to get around on land.

Larsen's son-in-law, who also was on the boat, told investigators
that he had warned his father-in-law to pay attention, that he sometimes
sees his father-in-law using his cell phone while driving the boat and
that his father-in-law had been off-and-on his cell phone the morning of
the crash, according to the sheriff's report."
"Larsen, a Roseburg resident, told The Oregonian/OregonLive by phone
Friday that he wasn't using his cellphone while driving his Bayliner and
referred to such allegations as "fake news." Larsen also said a lawsuit
seemed unnecessary because the people in the Weldcraft weren't hurt
badly."

I've seen or heard about the after effects of a number of idiots and powerboat accidents around here. A number of years ago I was bringing my sailboat up the Bay by the Navy base and saw a powerboat sitting on top of the man made sea wall in front of the harbor. I later read that the operator was doing at least 40 mph when he hit the wall and both people onboard were ejected through the windshield and killed instantly.

In order to drive a car you have to pass a written and a driving test. In order to get a much more powerful powerboat all you need is a checkbook.

That liberal base demands NO negotiations with Trump, NO compromises of any kind on anything. That's what ideologues do, they demand a fight to the death on every point.

That's why, as soon as Trump started to get close to a deal that looked like it was going to happen, they HAD to blow it up, they had to concoct some reason for them all to walk out and refuse to vote for anything, no matter WHAT he offered them.

This is going to go on all year, right up until the 2018 elections. Dems aren't really sure if this will help them, but they know that aggravating their base by comprising on anything will have their prog base walking out on them.

It *IS* how the Clintons and Obama saw the relationship between Government and Citizen Subject.

Time now for that whole discredited criminal enterprise to get a taste of their own.

Let's get that "dossier" testimony out of Congressional hands, and into the hands of Americans from sea to shining sea.

I want it all. Indictments, frog-marches, VERY public trials and throw-away-the-key prisons.

What that cabal has done IS nothing less than outright treason against the Constitution, the American People and the concepts, principles and ideas which fomented the American Revolution and the structure and arrangement of our Constitutional Republic.

Only way we're gonna get that Republic back in it's intended form, is to start with hanging the treasonous traitors and enemies of this Republican (structure, not Party) form of government.

Their conduct was, and is, as much an attack on the United States, as was Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

And yes, they were both un-declared, treacherous, sneak attacks, meant to cripple and defang the awesome strength of this great nation. They sought to score a killer blow in the first round.

Japan learned the error of her ways 'tween 1942 and 1945. Rather conclusively there, with those last two mushroom clouded punctuation marks.

We need to amply and conclusively demonstrate to the Obama/Clinton cabal, that they have failed likewise.

Putting the two headliners away in PMITA prison for the rest of their lives, or alternatively, see 'em swing from the gibbets, would be the nuclear punctuation to the end of an evil, twisted and tyrannical reign.

And how much better for the United States, that we see this done WITHIN our Constitution, Courts and the very system of government that they sought to undermine, and weaponize to their purposes?

Jurisprudence, with TRUE justice at the end.

The world would be in awe. No matter the screaming of the Marxist Left around the globe, you can just filter that out for the noise it is.

The. World. Would. Be. In. Awe.

Booze and boating, bad combination. You get out on the water with all that fresh air and sunshine and a single beer hits you like three.

I've seen some people pull up on a sandbar, have a couple, then drive away doing incredibly stupid stuff like still having an anchor out. Oops. Or pull stern to sandbar, start drinking, while tide is going out. Props buried in sand. I refuse to help push someone off a sandbar when they're that stupid. I'm usually nice that way. But drinking and boating is a line for me. Sober up dude, then I'll help.

It almost seems the bigger the boat the stupider the person.

158 The local stations have been playing the last four days of victim statements in the Nasser case live during the morning sessions.

If you watched any of the last Olympics gymnastics women's competition, when the USA dream team was competing, you will recognize the women from the team who were molested and are making impact statements.
Simone Biles came forward a couple weeks ago to share that she had also been assaulted while she was training at the Kyroli's training ranch, site of the US Gymnastics team training facility.

One of the gymnasts stated that Nasser would befriend the gymnasts by sympathizing with them regarding the strict training regimen of Bela Kyroli and wife, including sneaking them food treats that were forbidden. He groomed their trust that way before "treating " them in their rooms.

Some of his victims were as young as 6 years old.

One of the local stations found the MSU gymnastic coach who was suspended , parked in a lot in East Lansing , and were asking her questions on her way to her car. From my familiarity with MSU, it looked to me like she was in a commuter lot on the farm ground area of the university.

The Michigan AG is involved in this now, and hopefully, more charges are forthcoming.

I also want to see what the NCAA does. They went after Penn State for the Sandusky situation, and certainly, they need to shut down the gymnastics program at MSU, and possibly, women's softball. One of the female softball players was not only assaulted by Nasser, but was not believed by her coaches or athletic trainer when she complained. She finally dropped out of school (ESPN has been running an Outside the Lines feature on this and interviewed her) and is trying to figure her life out now.

160 I just want to say: The memo is in the *House*. There should be NO WAY that the Dems can *block* this.

If they want to play that game that the Dems won't let them release the memo, that's just ridiculous. The Dems don't stand a chance in a vote in the *House* party against party.

It *will* be time for those of you who still consider yourselves Republicans to purge those whose pull is bigger to protect their "friends" on the other side than to cleanse the American republic.

We have our share of that in Texas. The Game Wardens do what they can, but they can't be everywhere.

A guy I used to work with was a likable fuck-up who was trying to break into acting. By "fuck-up", I mean he would do stuff like take a food prep knife, pretend to do a samurai sword swing, and stab himself in the back.

Anyway, he landed his role of a lifetime when he was hired to play the Drunken Boater in a statewide tv ad by Texas Parks and Wildlife.

176 13 I thought USA Gymnastics did the cover up. They used to be based in Oklahoma City IIRC. Bela Karolyi also involved.
Posted by: Glenn John at January 19, 2018 11:11 AM (ZwfAu)

I'm not up on all this, Marta Karolyi has been running the Olympics team. She and her husband are both retired now, but their training camp in Texas is still the official one, unless it's been closed as many have been calling for. Girls don't want to go back to where that doctor raped them.

As an aside, a USA article I read about the camp said that two other gymnastics centers in Dallas and Houston may be suitable, and the author of the article had even been told that Dallas and Houston have hotels and major airports. Amazing!
Posted by: stace at January 19, 2018 11:36 AM (6HFDU)

Larry Nasser was a licensed osteopath that worked for Michigan State University as a trainer for various athletic teams at the school. Additionally, since he specialized in Gymnastics, he eventually was asked to treat gymnasts for the USA Olympic team. The team has it's training headquarters, until this past week, located at a ranch owned by Bela Kyroli, the famous Romanian gymnastic coach of Nadia Comenici , the gold medalist that became world famous. He and his wife defected to the USA to escape Cheausescu, in 1981, and ended up becoming the go to coach for gymnastics, then became the national team coach, then Olympic team coach.

So Nasser had two tracks of locations to molest young girls and women, some of whom were six years old. At MSU and at Kyroli's ranch.

180 "136 That picture of ICE forcibly removing Elian Gonzalez from his family, is exactly in keeping with the Fedz treatment of Private Citizens at Ruby Ridge, Waco, the Bundy Family, and many other headline-less cases.

The. World. Would. Be. In. Awe.
