I'm still shaking my head over a commentary on the Hawaii false alarm by some Very Serious Journalist, who commented, What if President Trump had been in the Situation Room, instead of out on the green, and ordered a counterstrike?

Because, of course, that's how we envision this going. Some state-level EMA reports a missile inbound, and the president launches in response. The US military's early warning systems don't even enter into it. Yep - could easily have happened. Close call!

I hate to echo Ben Rhodes, but - they literally know nothing.

The revelations Project Veritas has dropped the last couple days are a scathing indictment of their ideological bias, partisanship, and creepy Big Brother style fascism.

Question: Are there enough right leaning Twitter/Facebook/Google users to meaningfully ding Big Tech with a full scale boycott? Does our side have enough users, and could they be rallied together, to delete enough accounts to significantly tank their stock value? And could we at the same time transition those users to alternative platforms to give those a boost? Are there realistic alternative platforms?

Conservative users have to punish these companies for their shadow banning, throttling of conservative views, rigging of search results, etc. We need a community organizer to lead us!

There are two things at play here. One is the IOG report and the second is the pile of documents that he has been collecting over the last year.

Well, baitfish aren't a hatch of course, but you'll have seen baby pogies (bunker, menhaden, insert regional name) or silversides or sand eels and you allow for them to have grown a week.

This is the reason that saltwater fishing is superior to freshwater fishing. (Yes, I have just decided to crossbow this). You see something at dawn at dead low tide. Tomorrow's dawn will be an hour into the incoming. The next dawn dead low will be in two weeks. The bait will be two weeks older by then.

You really can't step in the same ocean twice. The river thing is just a saying, you can step in the same river tomorrow if the weather doesn't change.

198 "So anybody got odd's of a shutdown/DACA showdown on Friday?"

I think high. Fight is in the Senate. Schumer can't give Trump his wall, and he can't leave the Dreamers in limbo. So a shutdown is his only play. He's already been poisoning negotiations.

Obama made his government shut-down painful for Americans, and gave fed workers a paid holiday.

Trump can make a shut-down relatively painless for most Americans, and in effect furlough many fed workers without pay, and thereby win the stand-off. This can have significant long-term effects.

I think high. Fight is in the Senate. Schumer can't give Trump his wall, and he can't leave the Dreamers in limbo. So a shutdown is his only play. He's already been poisoning negotiations.

I especially liked Power's whine about NATO, how she had been oh so carefully 'nudging' them to pay more of their fair share, and were kinda moving in that direction (in 8 years!), but without upsetting their delicate sensibilities (all paraphrasing by me) -- And then that loud mouthed jerk from Hell made them cough up the dough in less than a year! 286 South Africa, where people have 10 ft tall gates around their homes due to out of control crime, is protesting being called a shithole.

Posted by: #neverskankles at January 15, 2018 12:29 PM (43lDk)

This is nothing new. Back in the 1950s Robert Heinlein and his wife Virginia went on a round the world trip, and one of their stops was in South Africa. They visited some people they knew there (yes, they were white) and noted their home (as well as their neighbors) all had high fences, gates and such. When asked why their friends said it was to keep from getting killed by the blacks in the area. Something the Heinleins found amazing was that these people were even concerned about the black people (butler, housekeeper) who worked in their home. But one of the blacks who was working in their home overheard this, and assured the white South African that "oh no, we would never harm you. We know you. Now your neighbors are different. Them we would kill, just as the blacks who work for them would try to kill you. But none of us would kill someone we knew and had worked for"...

Posted by: torabora at January 15, 2018 01:25 PM (mpXsN) >>>>

He can. The game is to decide how much money is available for that and who gets tagged as essential. I estimate it's no more than 10 percent of the Civil Service. Could be wrong, high or low.

372 139 We on the right have long known that Silicon Valley is no friend of ours, and it has become increasingly clear that they are outright and mortal enemies.

436 I grew up around Peri Gilpin in Dallas. We were fairly close friends in the early 80's. Her parents lived fairly close by. She's about 10 years younger than me. We use to go bar hopping together and drive in movies. Then she moved to NYC and became serious about her career. I moved to New England soon after that and haven't spoken to her since. She was a really good kid when I knew her.

That sounds like hard contacts. I wore those from 1984 - 2010 or so, and then switched to soft. The hard ones were harder to put in, but easier to take out. It took me a couple of weeks before I could take the soft ones out easily. Sometimes it still hurts, because there is such a strong suction to my eyeball.

My ex had progressively degenerative eyesight. She had to either wear hard contacts or glasses that got progressively thicker to the point of actual coke bottle thickness. She was blind as a bat before the surgery so naturally one of my favorite games was hiding her glasses and rearranging the furniture in the bedroom before she got up. Great fun for me.

She had the surgery years ago when it was just getting popular and it was amazing. Well the after was, the surgery itself which I watched was not so much fun. Overnight she went from blind as a bat to 20-20. It did regress a little and she had to go in for a "tune up" and she still uses reading glasses but she is a littler over 29 now so not really surprising.

BOMBSHELLS DOJs Rosenstein, Weissmann and FBIs McCabe Tied to Apparent Uranium One Coverup

Excerpts
3. Background and reminder from at least 2008, Robert Muellers FBI were investigating Tenam, the US based subsidiary of Tenex, a subsidiary of Rosatom, the Kremlin's Putins energy company. The same Rosatom that purchased Uranium One.

14. Notice something about these cases? None ever saw the light of day, where testimony would be made public. They were all disappeared. Now with that in mind, consider the following bombshell facts

15. ALL of these cases were prosecuted by the same duo, or combination thereof Rod Rosenstein and Andrew Weissmann. Yes, you read that correctly.

16. The FBI officer assigned to each case? Why, one Andrew McCabe. Yes you also read that correctly. Your eyes are NOT deceiving you.

17. Oh, here's another interesting coincidence they were ALL assigned to the same judge, one Judge Theodore Chuang, an Obama appointee. I hope you have not fallen off your chair yet, it gets worse

It's rotting fish all the way down.

imo these companies were tied to Soros type money from the start, and made deals with our (shadow) government to give back doors to our private info. That is HOW they became so dominant.

They are probably leftist enough to start with, but see how the CEO of Mozilla was efficiently removed for private "wrongThink" on gay marriage. The corporate elite are partly afraid of the bad press (that comes from having conservatives in their midst), but they are also powerful globalists and AmericaFirst is an enemy to them.

So we probably will have to treat them as a utility ... because they control what goes viral, and what gets silenced since they end up as monopolies. And O'Keefe has shown they have a malicious secret agenda.

Anyway, a long shutdown will financially squeeze a lot of people. I can go a long time with no pay coming in, but most of my co-workers do not have as much as I do in the bank. Your sympathy mileage for me and my fellow Feds may vary.

But I was told that American Churches have no monetary interests in massive immigration and open borders.

Literally open borders allows human and child trafficking, sex slavery, feeds narco states, allows drugs to flow into our country, exotic diseases.

There is zero argument for open borders unless you are making huge money from it.

513 Do these beta idiots like Rick Warren not see that open borders mean the end of western Christianity?

Call me cynical, but I suspect that the depth of Christianity in clowns like Warren is puddle deep and relates only to the thickness of his wallet.

He'd be an imam if he thought he could pack a megachurch.

FFS. All the things that people have been saying about him over the years are true. A scripture twister who discouraged study of scripture in his Saddlestench and made this a fad in the bazillions of megachurches that followed his business model (which is not to say all megachurches are "purpose driven").

He is a secular liberal in sheep's clothing, a disciple of management consultant Peter Drucker, who was fond of coming up with social engineering schemes for society as well as the workplace.

Thank you for squeezing your fat ass out of the closet and finally coming clean, you phony, dissembling disgusting slob.

515 Rick Warren is the closest thing there is to a protestant pope Francis. Creator of the megachurch movement, all based on principles devised by a General Motors management consultant.

517 Lizzie, #437:

Interesting re Tommy Lee Jones. I'd read an account that he's not at all a nice guy in real life, though from the account I got the feeling the guy interviewing him might have had something to do with that. (See Raylan Givens' rule, "You run into assholes all day,....")

I once came across a comment from the excellent character actor Jim Beaver urging caution in these judgments. He described a famous actor he'd worked with on two occasions; on one he was terse and unfriendly, on another he was warm and kind to all around him. As Beaver pointed out, you just don't know what's going on in people's lives. (Another fine actor he named as just a thoroughgoing prick no matter when you run into him.)

518 If his biblical warrant is "helping the poor," it's to be voluntary. The role of government is to protect the people, and enforce the law.

522 Sitting around reading System Design Docs, Patch Descriptions, Master Test Plans and such. Took the wife to Sonny's. Had some beef brisket and iced tea. Nice. It's about 64d outside. The sun is shining. Banked my holiday for later in the spring when it GETS WARMER!!!!

523 his is Schadenbonerific. Samantha Power threw a
party on election night with a bunch of feminazi icons to experience
Hillz victory and, well, it didn't work out.

For me the most interesting part is that neither Samantha nor Ben has even the faintest clue what horrific human beings they are. Indeed they sound like members of the SS lamenting the closing of Auschwitz and the chance of building a 1000 year Reich being lost.
