Quotes of The Day

Quote I

"We spent the last few months trying to get ahead of this whole threat so that we could provide as much notification and preparation time to the public," ...I accept responsibility for this, this is my team, we made a mistake." Vern Miyagi, Hawaii's Emergency Management Agency Administrator

Quote II

“We no longer assume that the fossil fuel companies are innocent; in fact, if we identify them as guilty, it changes the reality . . . and that can spread like wildfire.”New York City corporation counsel Zachary Carter

Quote III

“In terms of the bonus that corporate America receives versus the crumbs they are giving to workers to put the schmooze on is so pathetic. It's so pathetic,”Nancy Pelosi

Quote IV

“Procreation is becoming a global public health concern, rather than a personal decision. So when people do irresponsible things like having five children, we absolutely need to be calling them out.”Kristen Pyszczyk

Who knew the Europeans were so enlightened? Switzerland doesn't have the red carpet roll out for migrants.

A new civil rights act has come into force in Switzerland that prevents residents who have been on welfare in the past three years from becoming citizens unless they pay back the money they received to the state.

The new regulations will make it impossible for asylum seekers and migrants who have lived off state handouts in the last three years to become citizens even if they have lived in Switzerland as permanent residents for the required time to make a citizenship application, Kronen Zeitung reports.

Money for nothing and Finns for free. A year ago, The ONT brought to you the story of Finland and their universal income. Finland still doesn't know if it is working.

But amid this unprecedented media attention, the experts who devised the scheme are concerned it is being misrepresented. “It’s not really what people are portraying it as,” said Markus Kanerva, an applied social and behavioural sciences specialist working in the prime minister’s office in Helsinki.

“A full-scale universal income trial would need to study different target groups, not just the unemployed. It would have to test different basic income levels, look at local factors. This is really about seeing how a basic unconditional income affects the employment of unemployed people.”

It makes them feel good. So if it feels good, do it. Right?

Haven't had enough news from Europe? German steel workers strike for more benefits. Because money grows on trees.

Large German companies are required to give board-seats to representatives from their workers' unions, which makes the companies both more profitable and more equitable, so it's unusual for German workers to go out on strike, but 15,000 members of IG Metall union, the country's largest trade union, are engaged in short-term "warning strikes" against 80 companies for the right to take up to two years' worth of 28-hour working weeks, a kind of "work-life-balance" leave that has evolved out of the country's existing parental leave, but would allow workers to take extra time to care for aging relatives.

Who knew Canadians could be racist and full of culture appropriation?

*****

They were expendable. Who? Men of course.

Of course. Men are expendable.

It's biological. Our role in reproduction is limited to a night of fun, however the survival of the species also requires men to hunt food, defend the village, and to do things that require someone to hold their beer.

Senator Dick Durbin is an assholea race baiting hypocrite.

One wonders if Sen. Dick Durbin ever objected to the phrase "chain of custody" in judicial proceedings as evidence of racism in a justice system said to be unfair to blacks. Or maybe he thought "chain smoking" is a phrase coined by Klansmen watching slaves harvest tobacco. Has he ever participated in a chain letter?

The phrase "chain migration" is what Durbin and his fellow liberals like to call a racist "dog whistle," but this dog won't hunt.

*****

Under the radar fence building. Turkey is building fence along border with Iran. Seems good fences do make good neighbors.

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey has completed more than half of a 144 km (90 mile) wall on its border with Iran and will finish it next spring, the firm building the barrier said, as Ankara secures its frontiers from smuggling, illegal immigration and militant infiltration.

*****

Pennsylvania has legalized medical marijuana. Now medical marijuana users can legally own guns in PA.

IIRC completing the purchase application you have to state whether or not you use marijuana.

Does state law trump Federal law?

Jagger ostentatiously rolled his eyes at the TV camera while singing the changed lyrics, resulting in host Ed Sullivan announcing that The Rolling Stones would be banned from performing on his show ever again. via thisdayinmusic.com

Always read the fine print. Always.

But an ongoing court case in western Michigan is a real head turner. Consumers who jumped at a 30-day free trial membership at Family Fitness health clubs complained that they owed hundreds of dollars and couldn't cancel without paying sizable fees.

One consumer — who changed her credit card account to prevent further charges after a knee injury during a training session — discovered that a debt of $5,195 appeared on her credit report three years after she thought she ended the relationship.

Another consumer who won a free membership in a raffle charged that Family Fitness "imposed a host of unexpected fees upon him and only offered to cancel his membership if he paid a $250 cancellation fee," according to court documents in Kent County Circuit Court.

46 One other thing...and I'm so fucking torn about this...

So I discovered a YouTuber named Aydin Paladin and I've just binging this chick's videos for almost a week. She speaks, at great length, at a million miles an hour and also has some interesting perspectives while being pretty damn funny and really seems to enjoy eviscerating the left.

And she's kind of a conspiratorial kook who seems to be more than just a little anti-semitic.

Her last video on Poland somehow managed to digress into borderline Holocaust denial.

Purple haired bisexual bipolar 4Chan shitlord...nope, can't deny the obvious.

But she's fucking cuuuuuuuute!

I'm wondering if I should stop with her videos or keep her a dirty secret like one keeps hidden away a stash of Hustler, Penthouse and Mother Jones?

I agree with Kristen, but not about Chip and Joanna, who seem to be a lovely couple. Just a brief glance, I envy those two.

All the worst shitholes in the world have the highest fertility rates. Why doesn't Kristen concentrate her efforts there? Why doesn't she dress up in a vasectomy hat and parade around third world shitholes promoting vasectomies?

California female incarceration facilities have tried to promote sterilization for female felons who have had 5 or more babies, and they've come under harsh criticism for it. Why doesn't Kristen stump for that cause.

Why is this spiteful shitstain Kristen Pissadistic specifically attacking this lovely couple?

65 I saw that evil Miss Pyszczyk's article on the CBC website. She is part of the problem: if people would mind their own bloody business, the problems in the world would turn to, well, nothing. If she wants five kids, great. If she doesn't, great. She should, regardless, keep her mouth shut.

Another story I saw there recounts the travails of a young American couple who braved the horrors of our dictatorship to escape Trump's America to settle in Halifax. It was the most moving story I have seen or heard of people escaping tyranny to freer, greener pastures since I saw "Night Crossing" as a nine year old.

Or not.

Quote IV ... global public health concern ...

There is an apparently Major Story today that seems to have disappeared:

Via CBS Local (Chicago):
Potential Measles Exposure At O'Hare Airport
https://preview.tinyurl.com/ycy8j5ec

The Chicago Tribune knows about it too: https://preview.tinyurl.com/y8b94pkq

... as does US News: https://preview.tinyurl.com/y88mwrmg

... and others:
https://preview.tinyurl.com/y82qfl4r
https://preview.tinyurl.com/y73hu3wb

... Bing "measles Chicago" for more links.

But this isn't the first very-recent incident:
"On January 2, 2018, a traveler with a confirmed case of the highly contagious disease arrived in Newark from an international flight."
https://preview.tinyurl.com/y7qykpuq

What's missing from all reports?

1. The Country of Origin of the flight
2. The Country of Origin of the infected passengers (both cases)
3. The Destination of the infected passenger ... the most recent one also flew out of O'Hare

- Why is this information missing?
- Why were the infected passengers allowed to board the flights in the first place?
- Why were the infected passengers not immediately seized by police/health officials
- Okay, HAVE the infected passengers been seized by police/health officials and quarantined?

Yeah, I had MY shots 3 years ago, because I figured Teh Dog-Eater-in-Chief would allow this sort of subversion (I'm in CA, and we're navel-deep in it).

Why is this only local news? Measles is not a trivial disease, certainly not for anyone a year or more past puberty ... or pregnant.

I was reading about CA communities either saying in their bond offering prospectuses the effect of climate change couldn't be determined or denied there would be any.

So, NYC, let's include a clause in your next bond issue that you may be underwater within the lifetime of the bonds and suffer a higher interest rate.

This was a Quality Communications company. Many years later the same company paid Hilterly Clitin to give a talk. About two years after that the same company released some of there older workers to pay for it. This company makes most of the chips that are in your MensaPhones. That company use H1B'S visas to not hire Americans. It used illegal worker through subcontractors to build its grand monuments. One of the reasons why the lawsuit is bullshit is that we have accurate data on hurricanes hitting the continental United States since the 1850's - and there has been no increase in the number or severity of hurricanes.

It's good the oil companies are fighting back - if you are going to claim in court that your community is going to be devastated by climate change in thirty years, you are obligated to tell the financial markets the same thing when you issue debt.

None of the quantity applications have a 'salt' base. It's some type of solution applied called MD-20 (IIRC). It has a deicing agent with mix of sand and a very minimal amount of salt (less than 5%, I think). The corrosiveness of salt on our roads was the reason I remember given as why salt isn't predominately used.

Being a young idiot a few decades ago, I was cruising along on a snowy, and, unknown to me, icy freeway. Being incredibly stupid, I couldn't figure out why I had the lane all to myself while the right lane was moving along at a snail's pace. Then, I saw it, a bunch of wrecks on the freeway ahead of me..which also explained why I had the lane to myself. No problem, though, I'm in 4 wheel drive..so, off the gas, tap the brakes....crap, I'm doing 60 mph on a freeway that is coated with a sheet of ice and I am about to become another statistic...at which point, I thought, "the ditch is better than hitting a bunch of cars, can I get through the line of traffic?" looked over my shoulder, saw a gap, hit the signal, hit the gap and kept going on to the shoulder. Low and behold, there was just enough snow on the shoulder to give me the traction I needed to stop.

I sat there for a bit, until I stopped shaking, then calmly and slowly pulled out into traffic.

Not just the City, the whole state. Followed by closing down all operations, distribution networks, and retailers in the State. Give them the ecological paradise they seem to want.

306 I saw a documentary about Don McLean back when I had TV.

He took business courses in college, so unlike many musicians, he didn't get screwed by his managers and he retained the rights to his songs.

It might be an urban legend, but supposedly someone asked him what "American Pie" means. He replied, "It means I never have to work again."

310 i still think the lifetime achievement award for weathermanning has to be Michael Fish, 15 October 1987. I was actually in England at the time. (Shropshire though, not Kent)

Fish said something like, some old lady called and asked if there was a hurricane coming. lololol, no, it's going to be scattered showers and a bit of wind.

And then a hurricane hit Kent and tore up most of the trees there.

I yell to her (she was in another room), " hey, you know all the chords to play this"

She yells back. Who cares, it sucks.

321 Interestingly the question about marijuana had a phrase added that takes this into account.

So the Feds purposefully noted the use of marijuana as medicine in some states and rejected any claim that that makes it lawful use.

Seems that the Feds should forced to actually test marijuana for all it's supposed negative factors.

Let's not forget that the main bar to legalization is the DEA. If they were to allow marijuana, the DEA would lose a lot of reason for it's existence. Plus all the local police forces that garner asset seizure money from arrests of marijuana users would lose that money.

And finally, who do you think cops would rather arrest? A meth addicted hard drug user guaranteed to be in possession of weapons and with an attitude a yard wide or some pot smoking hippy with a grow lamp in his basement?

This needs to be finally decided like in a referendum vote.

But, I know she will beat herself up for it enough for both of us, so I told her it'll be ok and that, really, what does it matter because the streets are paved in gold in heaven.

Any ideas or wisdom from the Horde? I could really use some sort of genius ideas because nothing would please me more than to find the ring and give it back to her. I will set up and fund a Chicago-area moron meet-up if any ideas here lead to the finding of the ring.

In my part of Pennsylvania, in recent years trucks have been spreading brine before the snowfall. On the main roads at least.

I guess they figure that if you can get out of your driveway and navigate the untreated residential streets and make it to the main roads, you're good to go.

It's sort of Darwinian. The wimps will look at the snow and say, "Fuck it. I'm not going out in that."

387 "American Pie" in my favorite song. I wrote the following parody back in 2000 when carpetbagger Hillary was running for Senate in NY:

American Lie
============

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
How those fools fell for your fake smug smile.

And I knew if you had your rants
That he'd get caught without his pants
And maybe we'd be happy for a trial.

But cronyism made me shiver
With every favor you'd deliver.
"Bad News" Travel Office,
"Hillary's here to off us."

I can't remember if I cried
When you bled-to-death Billy Dale's pride,
But something crushed me deep inside
The day that justice died.

So ...

{*** Begin Refrain ***}
Bye-bye, Ms. American Lie,
Drove Vince Foster to death's roster,
But Ron Brown dared to fly.

Them girls and boys were killed by your FBI
Singin' this'll be the day that I die,
This'll be a village you fry.
{*** End Refrain ***}

Would you cite the goods on Bub'
And did you conceive with Webster Hub'
If a high poll tells you so?

Do you deceive with heartless droll,
Can bodies pave your moral hole,
And can you speak with Eleanor's real soul?

Well, I know you're not in love with Slick
'Cause his legacy's some fatter chick.
You both picked bankrupt views,
Then, you shred those Whitewater clues.

He was a phony me-age dodgin' hack
With an El Camino -- astro-turf in back --
But I knew we'd all need Prozac
The day that justice died.

I started singing ... {*** Refrain ***}

Now for eight years our White House on loan,
From Chinese bribes to sex with a phone,
But that's not always been okay.

When the Red-Head declared the King profane,
With a pen he borrowed from Tom Paine,
And a voice that you call "Hate" today ...

Oh, and while the King came for our arms,
We sacrificed our lives, our farms.
The old tyrant was spurned,
You new ones never learned.

And while Clinton fed on books by Marx
You made pacts with this Prince of Dark
From P.C. purges: Waco's spark,
The day that justice died.

We were singing ... {*** Refrain ***}

Knelt her, felt her, to the Bureau dealt her,
For words pulled out of classified shelter,
Stained files buy Congressmen fast.

Inhaled cocaine, but never grass,
Donkey's don't lie or use CS gas,
Just obstruct by just destroying just the past.

Now the bribe-time cattle futures zoom
While you sold short industries you'd doom.
We all decried your jaunts
Oh, but we only got pink taunts.

'Cause your secret Health Care Task Force failed
(To have wealth barred and doctors jailed)
Do you recall no thug was nailed
The day that justice died.

We started singing ... {*** Refrain ***}

Oh, and in-debt we were all told's our place,
Degeneration now our base,
It's no crime then to tax the dead.

So come on, Humpty Dumpty, dump that hick,
Hump New York to turn your next trick,
'Cause Carville's the Devil's hoary head.

Oh, "For the Children" you would save,
A hand-picked Janet Reno grave.
No liberal born to care
Could deduct underwear.

And to your flaming fascist friends' delight
You spite yourself for being white
And gave P.R. terrorists free flight
The day that justice died.

They were singing ... {*** Refrain ***}

You met with groups who stole our nukes,
Traitors all, like most media pukes,
But you just smiled and shipped a Cray.

You spent most of your time off-shore,
Where you missed civilians bombed galore,
And our troops swear an oath to the blue beret.

And in the "secure" White House beamed
Billing records for Rose clients reamed.
The price for words unspoken?
A Lincoln Bedroom token.

And the three Feds I despise the worst,
The Butch-her, you, and Bubba first,
They bought hell's last bullet-proof hearse
The day that justice died

And they were singing ... {*** Refrain ***}
They were singing ... {*** Refrain ***}

Posted by: boulder terlit hobo at January 15, 2018 11:51 PM (6FqZa)

Not really. The last big blizzard we had was in 2015. Last winter wasn't too bad..for a week or two we had single digit temps but that was the worst of it (with dustings of snow). The jury's still out on this winter.

But to truly measure how big this state is, I take you to last August. I was getting texts and calls from friends out-of-state who asked how I was holding up because of Harvey. I told them all the closest the feeder bands from the storm got to me was Abilene, and that's a four hour drive from where I live. Here, I actually am more worried about tropical depressions coming up from the Pacific than I am Atlantic hurricanes.

Ugh. It's not unnatural to be sentimentally attached to certain material objects, even obsessively attached. The loss by fire/theft or other incident is an upsetting thing. The financial loss is likely outweighed by grief.

It will be no consolation at all for me to say that time will soften it, but it will. My sister, 50 years ago, lost a diamond ring that belonged to our grandmother. She's never forgiven herself. But, it was an accident, and beating herself up over it could only make things worse.

It is necessary to accept the loss, however painful and regretful it may be. More easily said than done, of course.

439 The gun.

"Son of a bitch. The gun".

Wincing from the pain, Bopper turned into the wind, and went back for it. By now, his hands were raw and aching; his face stinging. In the side pocket, he found it. He still felt this had gotten way over his head. But no matter what, Big Bopper was going to finish the job. And right now, the job was Buddy Holly.
His walk to the wreckage of the plane went faster than he thought. Bopper did not have to look long before he saw him. Holly had somehow managed to pull himself to a sitting position against a large section of fuselage. Above the right knee, Bopper thought he saw the dull white end of bone sticking through the gabardine of Holly's slacks. He wasn't sure; he'd looked away quickly, fighting down the urge to puke.
Oh, God, thought Big Bopper, thank you. He's gone. Nothing to do but walk out, and tell my miracle story. Bopper imagined what would come next. A rescue. Recovery in some Iowa hospital. A nation in mourning. And then, the tour! THE tour! The Buddy Holly Memorial Tour, featuring J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson.

Holly groaned. Oh, Christ, thought Bopper. It's never that easy.

"Hey! Hey, Buddy!"

Holly groaned again. Bopper leaned in close. He could see Holly's good eye, shooting left, right, up down.

"Oh God, I can't see. I can't see! Bopper, is that you?"

"Its me, Buddy! I'm right here. There's been a plane crash. You're, uh, you're safe for now".

"Bopper. Where did you go, Bopper? I saw you leave the plane. Oh, God. Oh, Lord. Bopper, what did you do?"

"Not my doing, Buddy. I don't know what happened". At least that much was the truth.

"No way. You had 'chute. You knew."

"You just wait a minute, Buddy. That's a hell of a thing to say. Just like you, I got a career to think of, I ain't got no reason to crash my own plane."

Holly gurgled. It was laughter. "You listen to me, you cardigan-wearing fuck! I've taken enough of your shit for too long. You take a crap, and out pops a new hit single. Well, I've got news for you, Buddy Fucking Holly, Some of us actually have to work at this job." Bopper had the Colt in his hand. Without thinking, he had slid the safety off, and pointed the pistol one-handed at Holly's chest.

"Fuck. Oh Fuck, Bopper. Your song. I like your song. Don't shoot me. Like your song".

Bopper was trembling with rage, the pistol still trained on Buddy Holly's chest. "You like my song so Goddamned much? Sing it then, you curly-haired freak. You always fucking said 'Everyone's got one good song in 'em'. So sing my fucking one hit song!" Bopper stood over Holly, panting slightly, his breath coming in puffs of white. He waited for a response. "Let's hear my song, Buddy. Sing it".

"Closer...Every.. Day. It'sa gettin' ... closer.. faster ... than ..roller coaster." Bopper gripped the pistol with both hands, aiming at Holly's good eye, and jerked the trigger.
"You don't even know my song, you cocksucker! You don't even know it! It's Chantilly.. ...Fucking.....Lace... with a ponytail Hanging down you hip fuck! You goddamned pinko beboping fuck. Well guess what? I'm American Rock and Roll now, and there's not a fucking thing you can do about it!" Bopper yanked the trigger spasmodically, until the little gun's magazine was empty.

Big Bopper stood in the snow, spent. His arms fell to his sides, the pistol dropping into the snow by his feet. He was surprised to see a man on a motorcycle behind him at the far edge of the field of debris. The rider swung off the bike, and walked towards Big Bopper. Bopper couldn't see the rider's helmeted face, but the slung rifle... Bopper stiffened; he wasn't ready. Bopper patted his coat for the gun, and realized it was at his feet. The rider removed his helmet. Immediately, Bopper relaxed.

"Goddamn, son. You gave me a scare. We need to get the fuck out of here, and damn quick. Maybe there's still enough of a fire to toss Holly in there so they don't find all the bullet-"
"You fucked up, Bopper," the rider said quietly. Bopper's mouth snapped shut. "You were supposed to do Holly, Valens, and the pilot no later than half an hour after takeoff. You fucked it up," The rider let the rifle sling slip down one shoulder, catching it with his left hand.
Bopper found his voice. "Half an hour's too quick. I needed time..."

"Time you weren't given. I had no way of knowing if you would even come through. The 'Winter Dance Party' Tour could never be allowed to reach Appleton, Wisconson for reasons way beyond your thick Texas skull. But you... needed more time." He snapped the bolt forward, the muzzle of the rifle now pointed directly at Big Bopper's chest. "My God," said Bopper, taking a step back. "Oh my God." Bopper paused, and then, "We can still make it work. Help me with the body. The plan can still work."
"Bopper, it's over. Everyone's got one good song in them. You had yours. Now I need mine"

"Hey! Great idea! You can tour with me. It'll be Bopper and McLean! We can both sing Buddy's songs! Then after the memorial tour, we can write new ones together! Whaddaya say, Don? You and me!" Don McLean brought the rifle up to his shoulder. Even in the flickering ghostly light, Don could see how white Big Bopper had turned as his finger tightened on the trigger. "Sure Bopper."

"That'll be the day."

453 Read the "stealth jeff" twitter stuff yesterday. He's knowledgeable about the details of select aspects of the Mega-Scandal Complex, and a lot of his speculation is reasonable - if still speculation.

But one major eye-roller was when he just implicitly assumes that the various black hats - whose pre-election behavior was so sloppy and flagrantly illegal precisely because they assumed Hillary would win - for some reason didn't spring into action after election day. He says they might have been lulled into complacency by Sessions' inaction, specifically the fact nothing was done about the U-1 informant until a few months ago.

Huh? Makes little sense. These perps knew exactly what they had done. They were stunned by the election. Last thing in the world they would do is sit idly because they didn't see immediate action against them. Hell, they were busy with outrageous continued illegality and shenanigans *after* the election, as is now known. What sense does it make that they'd be orchestrating this ridiculous lawfare assault on Trump's presidency, AND not first making sure all the evidence of their pre-election sins was destroyed, insofar as they could.

He also fails to mention exactly how the U-1 informant was released from his NDA. IIRC, as a result of a Trump phone call to DOJ, specifically ordering it. Boom. Unless that's a cover story (which would serve no apparent purpose), it does not track, at all, with a Sessions rope-a-dope/waiting game.

Guy's analysis and speculation are reasonable and worth a look, but I'm guessing his 13-dimensional chess explanation offered in that string of tweets I read is far from persuasive, and has big logical gaps, one of which I've highlighted.

Probably depends on the type of "Reality TV." Reality gameshows like Survivor, Amazing Race, Big Brother they're filming 24/7 so reshoots aren't really needed. Though I have seen that what Survivor does for the challenges is that for those far away helicopter shots, those are done like the next day with stand-ins.

"Reality" Shows like the Kardashians, or Pawn Stars, they probably do 2 or three sometimes.

Christmas. I saw warnings on the news and decided to head out to San Antonio (my hometown, I got family and friends all over the city) as soon as my work day ended. When I got back the worst was over but there was a few feet of snow as far as the eye can see in my neck of the woods.

Thanksgiving 2015 or thereabouts was the one serious ice storm I remember in my time here.

The seriously bad winter weather doesn't happen as much as even I would have expected, but you are absolutely right: don't let anyone tell you it doesn't snow in TX. As you say, it's a big state. When you have about 900 miles between the top of the Panhandle and Brownsville, and another 880 miles between Anthony and Orange, you get some serious variance in weather from one place to the other.

Rats were not to blame for the spread of plague during the Black Death, according to a study.

The rodents and their fleas were thought to have spread a series of outbreaks in 14th-19th Century Europe.

But a team from the universities of Oslo and Ferrara now says the first, the Black Death, can be "largely ascribed to human fleas and body lice".

You don't have freewill. How could it be otherwise? Your thoughts are deterministic, whether naturalism is true or theism is true.

Freewill is incoherent. If you had to choose between say, vanilla or lime ice cream ... 50/50 and you opt for one, maybe then that's free choice.

But for other nontrivial choices, your character, your experiences will be responsible for what you choose. Therefore it is deterministic.

Her definition of "irresponsible" is procreation. So gay sex is the most responsible of all, since it is sterile, and if the participants die of aids, so much the better for the planet.

I said it before, Paul Ehrlich was perhaps the most evil man of the last century for convincing the most thoughtful, decent people, the very people who ought to be procreating the most, that they had a moral duty to commit self genocide by attrition.

New York doesn't generate enough electricity for the City itself. They buy a LOT of electricity during peak load hours, especially during the summer from First Energy in Northern Ohio and AEP in Southern Ohio. A lot of that is coal generated.

'Big Oil' and 'Big Energy' pandered to the left- for more than the last decade, including the Bush 43 years- perpetuating the AGW and green Marxist bullshit. Now, with a friendlier administration of Trump, they're trying to walk earlier positions back.

It was easier monetarily to be politically correct for all these companies to go along with the ruse and coercion. A second Trump term, then 8 years of Pence to squash these communist fuckers that have wreaked havoc on every aspect of American Exceptionalism for so long would work...

Somebody left a note at the end of JJ's morning thread about events in Hawaii on the day of MISSILE ALERT. Too funny.

I've only checked the one item so far, but it's true. Bill Clinton was in Hawaii, but on 'big' island. Traditionally you fly to Oahu, then by smaller jet to the 'big' island. By way of Honolulu airport.

The other item -- that the same day a body was found on the Honolulu airport runway may be a little tougher to verify. Nope. Found that story too.

It's just too bizarre. A truely committed conspiracy theorist could have a field day.

Later Saturday, authorities said a body was discovered near a runway at Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

I use wunderground for forecasts. I don't usually look at it in the off season because I have precious little control over the weather and just try to dress sensibly for whatever happens.

In season it's amazing for the predictions of wind direction and barometric pressure which is invaluable for choosing which days to burn for fishing.

All of that said, I just looked at it. It's really freaking cold right now and it promises, absolutely promises, to snow tomorrow.

Nah. It's the fault of BIG Oil. They got us hooked on a relatively cheap source of fuel for staying warm, or cool, or, just right. Plus being able to travel, or farm large fields to feed those who cannot or do not have the ability.

Let's sue the bastards! The we'll take all the money and ....

Wait. What the Fukc can we do with it to replace big oil?....
