I see this man as #NearlyAHero. Why did people frustrate him in his #RendezvousWithDestiny?

A crazed man jumped onto the subway tracks and threatened to kill himself -- all while ranting for "equality" and "social justice," a witness said.
The unidentified man was holding a bottle of vodka when he started yelling and jumped onto the D- and B-line tracks around 1:30 p.m. at the 42nd Street/Bryant Park station on Wednesday, said Brooklyn-based photojournalist Eli Wohl, who captured the scene on film.
"People were mostly pleading with him: 'Just come up, come up,'" Wohl recalled. "Whatever he did, he kept on mentioning different social issues -- women's rights and racial stuff."

It puts me in the mood for poetry:

Fat, drunk, left-wing and living is no way to go through life, Son.

And no one get on me about suicide being a terrible thing. I agree -- as a general proposition.

But only as a general proposition.

This young go-getter took a look at his life and thought maybe it wasn't worth all that much.

Who am we, strangers with incomplete information, to contradict him in his judgment?

Many years ago, for those who know the NYC subway, I was riding on the 2 train in the long tunnel between Wall and Clark Street in Brooklyn, when evidently a derelict either jumped or fell off the train between cars. It was not pretty, I imagine. Poor devil.

Went to Costco today after the (useless) orthopedist. Sad but that wasn't an accident. Bolling's son probably did not mean to kill himself but he did mean to take illicit drugs. The only kind of "Xanex" that would be laced with (illicitly produced) fentanyl is the illegal drug kind that did not come from a prescription..

No bad batch at all. Illicit fetanyl produced in China and shipped through Mexico is cheaper than dirt and is showing up in all sorts of illicit drugs (but particularly heroin). It is killing people right and left because it is sooo strong. It is so bad in Virginia that police are refusing to do field drug tests because fentanyl can be easily absorbed through their skin and has the potential to kill them.

I guess the news is that it wasn't suicide, but rather an accidental overdose or whatever you would call Xanax mixed with Fentanyl. Awful no matter which way you look at it.

And everyone would think he was murdered.
