afaik, moving the third world into the hinterlands is not really popular. We need a well done video of small towns harmed when they get their "little Mogadishu" dropped because some mayor gets bought off, or some church institute is being paid to "resettle" what will be a permanent welfare burden to the town.
Obama was bussing them around the country, refusing to tell governors where he was covertly dropping them. Coyotes could just drop them at the border and Obama did the rest.

Haiti needs engineers a whole lot more than we do.
And every nation needs their educated and technically trained citizens to return home and work for the good of their own homeland.
I'm actually at a loss as to why some of these places let all their talent flee to the U.S. If I'm Burma or someplace, I'm begging the US state department to not allow my talent to come to the US, because they never come back.
If we really want to get into the "not who we are" conversation, let's talk about universities setting up campuses in places that a)desperately need the educaton and b) can't afford to pay.
Instead they make absolute bank off the foreign students who come here, and drape themselves in the mantle of hero as if they are raising the education level in those student's country of origin. No, you're not.

JJ, if you are around, your morning report headline was spot on. I am a little irritated at the lefties screeching about what Trump might have said, especially if they are State Department types, because they are big fat hypocrites. When I was in consular training, my instructor, a woman with 25 years of service at State told us about SLC's and GFLC's, and why visa issuance was far, far lower for those countries than for others.
SLC stood for Sh!tty Little Country, and GFLC stood for God Forsaken Little Country. This was almost 30 years ago, and I dare say little has changed since then, except that they increased the visa numbers allowed for said countries. This is a tempest in a teapot to deflect attention from other, far worse things going on with the left.

The universities pull the talent from nations that cannot afford to lose them.
They carve out space in their graduate departments because these students pay full tuition.
So fewer American citizens are getting important graduate education, from our best schools, than would otherwise, and we give that education to those who don't necessarily yet share our American way.

The way I see it, Progressives in both parties benefit from the storyline. The truth that they wanted to scuttle immigration talks that wouldn't benefit their agenda isn't as sexy as not wanting to negotiate with a racist madman.
We'll never know and at this point I don't care.
Most of the countries, as so many online have already pointed out, are actually shitholes. So whether the president said it or not, the statement is true.
That will probably resonate under the surface with middle America, even if nobody will admit it.

But here we are, 2018, and I still see no signs the WH undersands that politics have to be re-introduced to politics. The Beltway GOP - esp. the Senate - continue on their insane, bizarre quest to eliminate politics from politics.
I'll continue to say it: the political situation that circumstances and the Dems have teed up is better than anything I have ever seen, or read about. They have lashed themselves to an unpopular policy (amnesty), and appear willing to walk the plank ("shutdown") for it. They have provided the WH and GOP with an entire rack of large clubs with which to pummel them.
Mid-terms where the opposition party is seen as perverse or irresponsible - such as 2002 - are the ones where the WH party wins. In this case, you also have the unusually asymmetrical Senate exposure of the Dems, the result of their gainzzzz in 2012.
The WH should be *seeking* maximum confrontation over this. Goad the Dems to do their worst. Let them "shut down" the govt. (and this time, the WH can play that game like an instrument - there are delicious options to manage such a situation that only magnify the ill will towards the Dems) - there is 0% chance of broad support for extreme measures to deliver *amnesty*. One of the few Beltway GOP incumbents with sense who's not part of the passive irresponsible majority really needs to get with Donnie Two Scoops and tell him point blank that it's up to him whether he becomes an early lame duck, or shifts things decisively in his favor.

I think there are a few "tells". The hoaxes are done for the opposite purpose than that implied by the woman's statement, ie. "you and your actions do not represent this community, which has no tolerance for your intolerance."
With true hoaxers, like the lesbian who carved "dyke" into her own skin before calling the cops, or the NYC Muzzie woman who claimed to be attacked, or the black kids at various universities that claimed to be the victims of nooses and banana peels, the intent is to say "LOOK AT HOW SUCH HATE AND INTOLERANCE IS THE *NORM* IN SOCIETY! PITY POOR ME!" It is to advance a negative false narrative about the "community". This woman, if anything is trying to advance a positive false narrative. She's not playing the victim card.
The other reason hoaxers hoax is as with Sulkowicz, UVA lacrosse player, or the woman who made false accusations against some college football player recently because it would look good on her PoliSci resume: they want to benefit financially by advancing their careers or through lawsuits. I don't know what this young lady will do, but she certainly doesn't sound like someone who plans on filing a lawsuit, or she'd be blaming the university, etc.
