Prine used to be a good song writer; when I saw Jim and Jesse a few years ago they did an excellent version of Paradise. I saw Prine as a warm up act before that. Pretty disappointing performance. His jokes were about two decades old and not funny to begin with. I guess his performing market is aged hippie fuckheads with not much going on upstairs.

Not me. Early riser. Coffee, grab snorkeling gear, then beach. Wait for my brand new Canadian girlfriend (while wife slept) who loved snorkeling as much as I did. Nothing romantic, we both loved to swim. She'd start off at the beach bar, though. We'd snorkel around together for an hour or so just after sunrise.

At an all-inclusive. I actually lost weight that week. Scuba diving was afternoon. You ever swim for an hour before breakfast? Food never tastes better.

100 Here's what the article said, which is probably more than anyone wanted to know:

"Yellow Submarine is the tenth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 13 January 1969 in the United States and on 17 January 1969 in the United Kingdom. It was issued as the soundtrack to the animated film of the same name, which premiered in London in July 1968. The album contains six songs by the Beatles, of which "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love" had previously been released as singles. The remainder of the album was a re-recording of the film's orchestral soundtrack by the band's producer, George Martin.

The project was regarded as a contractual obligation by the Beatles, who were asked to supply four new songs for the film. Some songs were written and recorded specifically for the soundtrack, while others were unreleased tracks from other projects. The album was issued two months after the White Album and was therefore not viewed by the band as a significant release.

102 53 Don't know if it is typical in Wisconsin but when visiting, I was the only one drinking black coffee. Everyone else added milk and sweetner. That stuff just gets in the way of the caffeine.

The one exception was during a stay in an auberge in Quebec City. They offered cafe au lait that was a perfect companion to their just out of the oven breakfast pastries. Over 20 years ater and I still recall that taste. SIGH!

What has become more clear lately is that the "insurance policy" wasn't the dossier. The dossier was just a part of the process.

The insurance policy was the entire effort to build a case that Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russians to rig the election. Everything the conspirators have done with the assistance of their drones in the media was to build that narrative including Comey's admitted leaking to get a special counsel. They had to do it because electing anyone other than Hillary was going to expose the widespread corruption by government agencies under Obama.

The entire thing was made up and enabled by corrupt bureaucrats in the DOJ and FBI and perhaps beyond and anything they find is going to be tainted by a corrupt investigation.

We are just being the payback process and it is going to be glorious.

It's not enough to get a few mid-level people, to stop this and adequately unis it needs to include people like McCabe, Ohr, Carlin, Rice and....Hillary. BUT this could break a lot of things wide open, as it is revealed just WHY the MSM and the rest went so crazy with attempts to remove Trump.

Yeah, the dossier is just part of "Frame Trump", which itself was cover-up for UraniumOne (and Skolkovo). But that just part of the whole globalist cabal ... which is fighting so hard against America First (seen in Europe as Brexit, and the others fighting the Merkel/Hillary supported invasion.)

Well I suppose we could quibble over that but it is important to understand that Obama was not some passive player in all of this, he helped enable them and certainly knew what was happening.

Every agency within exec branch is required to have an office of Inspector General. They are the in-house watchdogs of their respective agencies and were given wide berth to provide oversight on them.

Obama and Holder greatly restricted the IG's throughout the government early in his first term and in some cases, like say the State Department, never even appointed an IG during Hillary's entire tenure.

It was no coincidence that when Hillary left and an IG was finally appointed it was the IG who discovered Hillary was using a private server and that whole scandal started breaking lose. And that IG was subsequently muzzled, threatened and informed that he would be among the first people fired when President Hillary took over.

He retired and has now begun speaking out.

174 >>BUT this could break a lot of things wide open, as it is revealed just
WHY the MSM and the rest went so crazy with attempts to remove Trump.

While the MSM is partisan to begin with, two revelations have clarified their role:

-- The DNC and Podesta leaks confirmed that they are, in fact, a working arm of the DNC. DWS was able to call MSNBC and demand that they stop a story as it was being shown, for pete's sake.
-- Fusion GPS wasn't just feeding stories to the MSM, they were paying journalists AND media organizations.

The MSM will fight tooth and nail to protect *themselves* in this scandal, as they are part of it, bigly.

yeah, Trump was "not Hillary", but I think much of this happened DESPITE Trump appointing a lot of deep state types, despite him and Sessions being somewhat marginalized.
Seth Rich may deserve more credit than we know, and even that Awon guy left some evidence seemingly with intent to expose DWS. The real story is full of intrigue.

But it took Trump to wrestle away the power ... that is no small deal .. and not over yet. I'm hoping a lot of military and IC have also been covertly helping, after so many levels were compromised.

Uranium One indictments - looks like his testimony contributed to it:

Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the
Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make
secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed
Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and
kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and
court documents show.

This is among the most pernicious myths of this whole process. Sessions has been amazingly active since pretty much day 1 on various issues like MS-13, sanctuary cities, appointing an entire new set of federal prosecutors and on and on and that includes the Uranium One scandal which had it's first unsealed indictment yesterday. That wasn't a magic fairy doing that.

The DOJ is an enormous institution with thousands of employees and dozens of departments. It's not like he is a country sheriff with oversight of every single investigation personally.

In any large scale RICO like case the investigation takes a long time and is best done quietly so as not to alert co-conspirators. What you don't do is exactly what Feinstein did and why so much stuff has been held from Congress. You don't show your hand until you are ready to drop the hammer and of course Congress leaks like a 1 year old with diarrhea.

Sessions is not asleep. He is doing his job the right way, the only way, if you are trying to build a large and complex case of rooting out the bad guys without tipping your hand.

This is going to be like June 1943. The counterattack begins. I was sitting back, trying to wrap my mind around the Big Picture this morning, and I see offensives against the left opening up in the House, the Senate getting something going, the FBI getting nailed, the Collusion narrative collapsing completely, and what are the dems doing in response?

They run a story claiming that Trump might have banged a playmate in 2006. Which, even if it is true (probably not), so what? Do they really think there are people out there going "ohmigod, one time Trump banged a centerfold, I'm votin' for Hillary next time!"

And second, they are running with "TRUMP IS RAYCISS!!!" for the 15th time, and saying "ALL TRUMP'S SUPPORTERS ARE TEH RAYCISS!!!" Huh, I wonder why this didn't work the last 14 times they tried to run this play. But, their plan now is "well if we all stand in a group and scream really loud, in unison, then this time it'll work!!!"

btw there's not going to be any immigration deal, Schumer will see to that. Just hope Trump goes ahead and starts deportations on March 5.

Looking deeper into the article, it looks like this $55 million is the first of a couple of payments. Coming from the UN kind of bothers me a little bit. My preference would be for churches and individual Christians here in the US to step up and take care of our brothers and sisters ourselves. One organization that does this well, and has over a long period of time, is "Voice of the Martyrs." They are on the ground and know the needs.

Passing it off to the UN is a cop-out, although I'm glad for the resources.

See the end of the ONT, and the EMT, where I and others ranted about it.

Basically, the WSJ has sunk to the level of the Fusion Pee-pee Party Dossier.

The source is another "actress" (below even my low standards) who tells tales of Trump and Ms. Daniels in '06. A former friend.

Daniels denied the whole thing in a written statement last night, and locked down her social media in response.

You can't tell me with a straight face that the human snooze button (I SO stole that from some other moron) has been soooo busy that he couldn't muster enough resources to prepare the opening salvo for the war this report is gonna initiate.

Really? Did you know the extent of the corruption the day Trump was inaugurated? Did you know that Peter Strzok and his mistress had plotted in Andrew McCabe's office to have an "insurance policy" Did you know that Bruce Ohr was involved and that his wife actually worked at Fusion GPS? Did you know that Sally Yates had specifically prohibited the DOJ OIG from investigating one and only one division of the DOJ, the NSD which is the department that applies for FISA warrants? Did you know that James Comey was going to leak classified document with the express purpose of getting a special prosecutor?

I didn't know any of that. Hell, I didn't know who half of the people involved even were and I'd venture to say not many others did either.

When this breaks it will still be an enormous uphill fight to breakthrough the media counter attack and a public that is either not paying attention, doesn't care or would never believe that and Obama/Hillary administration would do anything remotely illegal.

It is important to know the extent of the corruption, find all the bad guys involved or at least as many as can reasonably be identified and most importantly build an airtight case that can't be ignored if this is going to actually be successful. I don't just want the low level grunts I want everybody and that takes time.

And it appears the time is just about upon us.

And to assume PDTS and McSnoozerson took the reigns of office without knowing, let alone suspecting that Barky McFuckstick's admin was corrupt and in bed with Skankles is not only naive, its just stupid.

The OIG report is the opening salvo of war against the deep state. So far, it's all flash and no bang, and if Snoozy McSnoozerson is the CG, well we're gonna have a long slog ahead if this is any indication of his preparedness to act.

253 Looking deeper into the article, it looks like this $55 million is the first of a couple of payments.

Posted by: grammie winger - for such a time as this at January 13, 2018 09:50 AM (lwiT4)

========

Disagree, it's not a cop out. Where do think that UN money comes from? Tax dollars, mostly from US Christians.

Also, UN has peacekeeping forces. They can help Christian communities in ways that are not open to Voice of the Martyrs, which helps mostly through legal aid IIRC (as well as various other ways, such as smuggling in food and bibles).

Of course, the UN is mostly worthless and ideally the US should ditch them and spend the money directly, dictating its own priorities and cutting funding to Muslim countries.

But it's not as if UN money is a source separate from the US. You're not copping out - you've already donated to the UN through your taxes. At least this new direction of the UN is better than them spending 100% of your donation on Muslims.

260 >>I am not convinced that the OIG report contains intel and investigative information that was only developed post PDTS.

Then respectfully, you haven't been paying attention.

The OIG investigation started January 12, 2017. Trump was inaugurated about a week later. Virtually everything that has leaked out about Strzok, Ohr, Comey, Yates, Baker, McCabe, and on and on and on about the Russia investigation and the Hillary email investigation was done post Trump's inauguration and is the result of the OIG investigation or Congressional investigations which despite the media hype I think are pretty much working in tandem.

Devin Nunes was first shown evidence that the FBI was breaking the FISA laws and spying on Trump in March, well after the inauguration. The FISA court's review of violations of the 702 and section 17 parts of the FISA law was unclassified in May. Comey admitted to leaking to get a special prosecutor in I believe it was April.

Again, the insurance policy was this entire effort to frame Trump as a Russian stooge and while that effort started before the election it continues to this very day.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Half the country might not care but God does. When I get discouraged by the idea of the wicked prospering I am reminded of some words by R.A. Torrey who was a evangelist and minister who died in the 1920's/ He quotes psalm 73:3 "I was envious of the boastful when I saw the prosperity of the wicked" and adds vs, 12 & 13, "behold, these are ungodly who are always at ease; They increase in riches. Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed by hands in innocence." Then the psalmist, says Torrey, went into his prayer closet and understood the meaning. Their prosperity is for the moment-how God has set them in slippery places and how they are brought to desolation in a moment. On the other hand he discovered in himself that even when people who love God are poor, God enfolds the righteous because they are continually with God. In a world of testing and trial he guides them with counsell and we come out of the fire purified. God then receives us into glory.

We tend to forget, Torrey says, that this world is not everything and that the values of this world are not the values of God and things can be turned around in the world to come.

This sort of thinking may not be a help to you, but in the meanwhile I keep praying for justice.

288 Author Ed Klein, a 'conservative' yellow journalist much like Wolfe is for the Left, has some amusing stuff on TFG in his latest book. Sure it's probably made up (he quotes an anonymous source), but who cares -- It's not like the Left has any particular fondness for the truth either.

He sez Valerie Jarret (who lives with the Obamas, don't forget) said that Barack is all depressed at seeing his legacy vanquished in a year. So he's been getting stoned every day via joints and edibles, and is way behind on writing his memoir (don't worry, Ayers can finish it up for him like the first book).

But he has been kinda quiet. Hmm, therefore it must be TRUE.

And if he is depressed, well it's only fair -- He depressed the hell out of me for 8 years+. Anyhow, fun gossip.

Watergate had nothing to do with the Pentagon Papers. Watergate was a third rate break in of the DNC headquarters by a group of incompetent turds.

The Pentagon Papers was an act of treason by Daniel Elsberg who was a psychiatrist supposedly helping government workers. He was going to publish those papers in the NYT and the government issued an cease and desist order telling them they could not print them because they were classified. The liberal court issued another one of it history shitty rulings that said the government could not order them not to publish but they could prosecute them "after the fact".

So the NYT published them and a number of our clandestine agents overseas were subsequently killed after their covers were blown. But the liberals were happy.

Who the hell knows if Hillary will go to jail. Did Nixon? No. He didn't even go on trial but I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who says he skated.

Are you familiar with this book, "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young?. She apparently has a whole series of books. Somebody gave to to me because I have Lyme, and this woman's backside was kicked by it but her faith was strengthened. She does these devotionals about peace with God in the midst of everything and quotes a lot of Scripture. Her husband is-or was- a pastor in the more conservative branch of the Presbyterian Church-PCA, She seems to be an Evangelical. Anyway, I figure you might be familiar with her but if not, I recommend her book very much.

I am hardly a pollyanna. Asshole, jerk, stubborn, actual moron are the descriptors I hear much more often.

I've just had a lot of time on my hands lately and I have been following this stuff intently. I am the goober who actually watches C-SPAN hearings and reads court documents and the like as well as Binging like a crack monkey.

Sure the media and the left will fight this tooth and nail but we are reaching a tipping point where what the left has been claiming for over a year is disintegrating and the facts of what really happened are just starting to come out to a broader audience. It's about to be a tidal wave.

At some point the momentum will tip in our favor and the left will be helpless to stop it. The evidence is just to overwhelming and down right scary.

And remember, Trump has known what happened since last November. If anyone else was president I think this would be a much harder deal but Trump has demonstrated a remarkable ability to control the narrative and make people focus on things they ordinarily wouldn't. And this is a guy who wants to drain the swamp and is actually doing it

Who was the last person that went up against Trump and won? Yea, I don't remember either.

1. Talk about how you hate the blacks.
2. Talk about how you hate the messicans.
3. Talk about how you hate teh wimminz.
4. Talk about how you shoot the gunz.
5. Talk about how you hate the gays (and assorted relateds).
6. Talk about how you must pay your fair share.
7. Talk about The Russians!!!

Repeat as necessary. When one story peters out, go to the next one.

To me, it appears since we're back to grab de poosay, I believe there's a lull, and they're waiting for the next mass shooting so we can get back to that.

379 229 >> Trump might have banged a playmate

>> She has already denied it.

Not playmate, but Stormy Daniels, an "actress" (and I hope I don't have to 'spain the scare quotes) of some fame about 10 years ago or so.

The WSJ is running with this crap. A two-dollar prostitute (hell, you'd have to pay me, and pay me a lot).
Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at January 13, 2018 09:57 AM (8O3HH)

Good morning, horde. I had to run some errands, but I saw that in the ONT and was going to re-link it.

Remember the secret Zuma satellite that supposedly failed last weekend? As far as I can tell, that also originated in a WSJ article citing "anonymous sources". Then the rest of the media picked it up and ran with it.

One of the headlines I saw said "SpaceX rocket drops billion dollar satellite in the ocean". Yet there is photographic proof that the second stage made it to orbit.

Curious.

1. Legacies and gravitas if the people at the top of the pyramid discredited such that no one pays them any mind. Laughingstock level.

That will always happen, but it needs to be the exception, rather than the rule. I am fine with destroying their families, too, as they often do that to their victims. Long prison terms, abject poverty, ineligible for public assistance, etc. Not legal? Pass new laws to make it so.

Actually the first stage landed back at the Cape, and they showed that live.

The second stage was photographed over east Africa on its second orbit, venting fuel after a deorbit burn. It was right where it was supposed to be for any debris to fall into the southern Indian Ocean. Target areas for possible debris are always announced in advance to warn ships and planes to keep out, and this launch was no exception.

I do think Oomprah is an empty vessel. In the whole of her celebrity career, I am not sure she's demonstrated more than a few thoughts of her own. She put on that show for as long as she did, and whatever fools she had in front of her, she acted like she understood what they were saying, and what it all meant.

I've not seen a lot of her work, but I've seen some of it, and that's what I noticed. A shallow, phony "understanding" of whatever the guests were saying, and a few chosen words of pablum, so her audience would think she was imparting wisdom.

I do think she's going to run. Even if she says she's not. But they'll have to very carefully control how she's exposed. Even more than they did with their last two empty-headed candidates.

How about this one? Watch any PBS-type documentary about 19th century immigration and listen to them talk about how the newcomers were treated like shit--slave wages, religious discrimination, Triangle Waistshirt Factory ---you know the drill. This is the Left narrative.

Then when today's Americans--the offspring and descendants of those shat upon--want to do something about ILLEGAL immigration , the same Left says, "Oh we are a nation of immigrants, hater! No one slammed the door in your grandparent's face when they came here!!"

445 I like the chickens on the freeway. Reminds me of one night when I was coming home from night school at Diablo Valley JC when all lanes of Hwy 4 were stopped in Martinez. I was on my motorcycle and split lanes to move forward between the cars, where I shot a questioning look at a guy who was standing beside his. "Cows," he said.

"Cows?"

"Yup. There's a broken fence next to the highway. Cows are all over the road."

446 "There is hamburger all over the highway in Mystic Connecticut..."

In 1978 I was motor cycling across most of those United States, and northeast of Virginia Dale, Colorado I found a dirt road off the state route, that actually showed up on the map. And it was, kind of, a short cut to the part of Wyomin' I was a-headed fer, and I took it.

After a couple of miles I came to one of those cattle-trap road barriers and an "open range" sign. Oh boy, I goes, I'm in the real West now. And was I ever. No angry charging bulls, because, you don't need any. Ordinary cattle (these were steers) are some of the most curious and inquisitive creatures on the earth, and they are surprisingly quick and fast in an investigatory mood. Bunch of 'em, too.

40. Knew you would ask. How fast you have to ride to pull away.
And nothing sharpens your outlook toward potholes and cravv-asses so much as a fair-to-middling herd, following you at that speed.

447 "And this is how you ruin the Nectar of God..."

No. Single malt whisky is the Nectar God.
