The Left Is Nothing More Than A Temper-Tantrum-Throwing Child

trump russia baby.jpg

An obstinate refusal to accept reality is the hallmark of children. And that's perfectly okay, because they have half-formed brains and they are learning to navigate the complex logical rules that govern life. In fact, sometimes it's loads of fun, as the parents reading this post can attest.

I noticed in this morning's NYT an article about how complex flood zone mapping can be, because a difference of a few feet has profound financial implications for those involved, including the taxpayer. But embedded in the article was a typical NYT throwaway line about Global-WarmingTM.

New York will be the first major metropolis to be remapped taking into account the realities of climate change, like rising sea levels and increasingly powerful storms.

Except...climate change is far from reality, and the NYT refuses to entertain the notion that it is not settled science. Completely and totally. It simply rejects the idea that maybe, just maybe it isn't a fait accompli.

For the purposes of discussion I would even grant that the hair-on-fire projections of the alarmists are a possibility, and that the maps should recognize a range of future sea levels and storm strength. But any scientist, or for that matter any rational human being would intuitively, immediately understand that we should look at both sides of a far-from-settled scientific issue.

Yet the NYT stamps its feet and holds its breath and insists that in spite of no data that support its supposition, it is nonetheless true. Just like a five-year-old.

The only problem is that we can't send the NYT to its room without dinner. Or smack it on its spoiled, entitled, lily-White ass.

Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave.
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For Bama's pluck and grit have
Writ her name in Crimson flame.
Fight on, fight on, fight on men!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then.

Climate change - - don't make me laugh!

The big fear the NYT and the Left are talking about is "rising sea levels,"

Problem is -- reality doesn't match their fantasy.

Take the Golden Gate Bridge is San Francisoc for example. The south tower of the bridge was erected (in water that is essentially the Pacific Ocean) back in 1935. The marked around the base where the water line was.

82 years later, where is the sea level. AT THE EXACY SAME LINE. Hasn't gone up even one inch.

82 years of "global warming" and industrial revolution and rising seas and blah blah blah.. To no effect whatsoever.

Posted by: zombie at January 08, 2018 06:44 PM (42M22)

24 3 If Trump didn't want to win, why did he collude with Russia?

And if, per Wolffe, Trump can't read, how did he, well, "read" his 2011 CPAC speech "from a piece of paper" also per Wolffe's book.

Wolffe sure is confusing on these matters.

Yet, Prince Gaylord the First never did a damned thing about Bush killing several thousand people in a black op, never found the planes, never found the passengers, never even mentioned it.

And neither did the Left.

96 Wolffe's style is ripe for parody.

Bannon shuffled into the office wearing disheveled khakis with a dirty cocktail napkin stuck to his ass and reeking like a wino's 4 am breath. "We've got to ban the 4th of July and we'll do it ON the 4th of July!" he shouted, the bags under his reddened eyes drooping halfway down his jowly cheeks.

The president-elect stopped ogling Hope Hicks' legs long enough to ask "Are you retarded, Steve? I mean, actually retarded?"

"You just don't understand my super-secret Bob Mercer-approved 11-dimensional chess plan to drive the Liberals insane. None of you get it. They'll go nuts! The left will go insane! It will blow this shit UP big time, once and for all. Stop listening to Jarvanka for once, for God's sake."

Upon hearing this, Melania immediately burst into tears and fled the room.

The president-elect was nonplussed. "Can we get some generals in here? I like all the pretty pins on their lapels" Trump murmered to no one in particular before forgetting all about it and calling Rupert Murdoch to set up a round of golf that Trump did not even intend to win.

oh there was flooding, even some spectacular stuff but the anticipated storm surge was 15 feet which was higher than what happened. Even then it was not so bad everything considered. so given a little time even 15 foot increases would be fine for ny.

128 FBI agents get caught leaking ...

In one exchange, FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page engaged in a series of texts shortly before Election Day 2016 suggesting they knew in advance about a Wall Street Journal article and would need to feign stumbling onto the story so it could be shared with colleagues.

"Article is out, but hidden behind paywall so can't read it," Page texted Strzok on Oct. 24, 2016.

"Wsj? Boy that was fast," Strzok texted back, using the initials of the famed financial newspaper. "Should I 'find' it and tell the team?"

The text messages, which were reviewed by the Hill, show the two FBI agents discussed how they might make it appear they innocently discovered the article, such as through Google News alerts.

"I can get it like I do every other article that hits any Google News alerts, seriously," Strzok wrote, adding he didn't want his team hearing about the article "from someone else."

191 There are a few scientists out there looking at other possibilities. This excerpt actually from Newsweek a couple months ago: "Research indicates a huge upwelling of hot rock lies beneath the ice of Antarctica's Marie Byrd Land. ... A mantle plume producing almost as much heat as Yellowstone supervolcano appears to be melting part of West Antarctica from beneath"

So the ice isn't melting from above so much (if at all) as it is below the surface. 249 Joe DiGenova on the radio this am. I heard Rush do a lite version of this in the afternoon.

But here is what Joe D said:

Adm Mike Rogers (head of NSA) went to go visit Trump in Trump Tower during transition. The next day (Rush reported it as shortly afterward) Trump had the transition team leave Trump Tower and go to his golf club in Jersey. Joe D says Rogers told Trump he was being wiretapped and that his why he moved the transition team. (Rush story is Rogers MAY have said something like that.)

EDITORS NOTE i.e. me: Flynn was in Trump Tower in December doing transition stuff and that is how he got "incidentally" recorded. So clearly ALL transition activities did not get moved to NJ.

Joe D says that this is the source of the Trump wiretapping tweet.

If this is true (Joe D has had many bombshells that were duds), this is absolutely the biggest government scandal EVAR.

The Intel Community and the FBI conspiring to bring down a Presidential candidate? That sounds like a bad Ludlum novel, or a good Vince Flynn one.

And thing is, the fucking Deep State exists. This is what I find the scariest of all. Might as well believe ALL the crap conspiracy theories. Yeah, they brought crack cocaine to the inner cities. They invented AIDS to kill the gays.

I think it comes down to play-calling. Each of these teams are stubborn. GA kept Oklahoma in the game in the first-half by passing in run situations. Followed that up by trying to run against eight and nine man fronts in the second.

'Bama is just schizo on Offense. They can do so many things with that line and running QB and good receivers and a friggin' stable of backs that they never call a consistent game. They dabble with everything.

I think this game will be frustrating to watch. Neither offensive staff will stick to what's working. The offensive coordinators will keep this game close.

I think the fourth quarter points will match the rest of the game - as the coaches finally get desperate and start taking chances.

Based on interviews with 8 female STEM students, two professors recently concluded that "masculine" norms are to blame for the lack of female STEM graduates.

According to the professors, these masculine norms include "asking good questions," "capacity for abstract thought and rational thought processes," "motivation," "independent" thinking, and a relatively low fear of failure.

265 From the Hill: Feehery: Oprah Dem presidential bid unlikely

Reason #3:

Oprah is not progressive enough: Ira Madsen, a writer at The Daily Beast, put it this way: "Is it in America's best interest for another billionaire to run for president? Oprah is a generous queen for sure, but let's not pretend that her stepping into the White House would magically mean a new Pontiac arrives on the doorstep of every American who voted for her."

Maybe I am reading this wrong, it has been on a few sites, but when I go to the original article, it isn't the professors making the claim that the masculine norms are the problem, but rather that they are reporting that the girls (yes, they are girls) they talked to told them that is what they found challenging about STEM.

Now, as to this, in particular:

"capacity for abstract thought and rational thought processes"

286 "like rising sea levels and increasingly powerful storms."

It takes 18.6 years of continuous tidal observations to establish a tidal sea level control station, due to the complete lunar cycle involved. Those observations need to be combined with isostatic rebound of the land, where present. In New England coastal regions, at least, and by running precise surveying levels between a number of tidal stations, and computing values established over nearly 2 centuries, there is little to none sea level rise.

Relax.

Storm strength depends on observation technology. Similarly, relax.

There's so much more. Rogers actually turned the FBI in to the FISA court for misusing the wireless warrant process to spy on Americans and the FISA court agreed and said it believe it had been going on for years. Like the entire time Obama was in office. And Rogers did this before the election.

I've watched the Rogers testimony to Congress. I've read the FISA court documents. There is no doubt about it.

The dossier didn't start the spying, it was used to provide an excuse for when the FBI admitted they had been spying on Trump.

It's not a sideshow. It is the "insurance policy". It is the core of the whole thing.

Comey admitted he leaked to get a special counsel. He did that in testimony to Congress.

These leaks were designed to condition the public that Trump was colluding with Russia.

This conspiracy has many tentacles and they are trying to get all of them. It isn't enough to just get Comey, they want to get all the conspirators and follow it where it goes like a RICO prosecution.

And sort of lost in all this was the revelation today that Bruce Ohr lost his other job as the head of the drug enforcement part of the DOJ. He was the liaison with the DEA for Project Casandra, the Hezbollah investigation into money laundering and cocaine importation into the US.

And he squashed it because Obama wanted his Iran deal.

Dion responded, hey Tony. I have a yellow sportcoat in my closet that I didn't pay for. Do you? I dont like Sanders, but that's a great line.

372 Maybe I am reading this wrong, it has been on a few sites, but when I go to the original article, it isn't the professors making the claim that the masculine norms are the problem, but rather that they are reporting that the girls (yes, they are girls) they talked to told them that is what they found challenging about STEM.

Posted by: blaster at January 08, 2018 07:35 PM (jHrzU)
---
I can't read the original study, only the abstract, because it's the pay-to-read variety. (Which really sort of functions as the partition between the academic and the layman.)

But to me it's inescapable that if you're saying that there are masculine values that are off-putting to girls and it's not just that STEM values peeing standing up, it's really not the case that girls can do anything that boys can do.

I believe that some girls can probably do anything as good as some boys can do, but we should stop making our goal some sort of proportional representation to prove "fairness". The article I read says that women are hired more often--oblivious to the fact that every credentialed female you hire into a STEM job means you have less to worry about "employment bias" (unless they hire too many white women). As if that motivation suddenly means that asking good questions in class and "motivation" and independent thinking are simply on the level of abilities like peeing standing up.

No wonder we are seeing compliance filling the ranks of Science professionals as we get people who can't ask questions in class, and might think that thinking independently is "just a boy thing" filling these roles as a type of technological clerk.

It's almost like we learn facts and then weigh them against our personal experiences and values to arrive at a conclusion rather than learning what we are supposed to think to make others believe we are good people.
