You know how the left loves to yell about how "red states" get more welfare money than "blue states" and its all hypocrisy etc.

What they do is count up all federal dollars sent to states and declare it all to be welfare.

But most of that going to "red states" is not to pockets of poor people, but military bases etc. When the federal government owns more than 75% of some western states, that is going to cost some money.

Its not welfare, its just federal spending. "Blue States" aren't usually big military places although there are exceptions (San Diego for instance).

Yeah IG, I was pretty young when my cousins came home from Vietnam. I seen how they had to get rushed out of the airports because of the fucking hippie trash. This is not what should be said at this point. Incumbents who are up, and who are not solid, absolutely should fear a challenge.

"Infrastructure," which he wasn't asked about, is exactly the wrong thing to push at this point. Opposite of wedge issue - embodiment of incumbent hog-trough self-promotion in which everybody feasts. You get little to no differentiation from the opposition with "infrastructure". And that's what you need, if you need to increase your head-count in Congress. And Trump desperately needs to do that, if he's going to get serious work done.

There are a number of free services put on by cities and groups like AARP and such that are income based, and there are online tax preparation services that you might start with that will let you run your numbers to see what they think.

My experience is that an accountant will run you 150 and up, but if you catch them early when they have time they might be interested for a nominal fee to peruse your return and give and estimate. Ask, all they can say is no or "pay me first"

Watch out for the ones that give you wildly different amounts for refunds, since some are more interested in getting a percentage of your refund and your fee than making sure you don't have a deficiency with the IRS charging you penalties and interest and sending you love letters.

That being said, we need some reforms tied to it like a with Davis-Bacon that basically guarantees absurd prices are paid for federal projects.

Also, I want zero public transportation projects funded. Those are always boondoggles.

They did a lot of infrastructure in my area. All new bridges just about everywhere. Not just ordinary poured cement, which would have been sufficient to the task, but ornate stone work. On every little bridge they could find. It probably doubled the cost of every bridge. Plus increases the cost of repair every-time someone smacks a stone.

I have a relative that died of lymphoma and they were pretty sure it was Agent Orange from his Vietnam service.

His kids also got some payout like "free college" but I don't know the details. But that was when college wasn't as expensive as it is today.

One of them did have a possible birth defect where she had eye issues.

The VA treats our vets like disposable trash and burdens, just like our country treats men and boys. Vets die in waiting rooms, but at least in 2014 the word bossy was banned.

I don't want a fucking check, I want my dad back and healthy. It's been years. He dies way too young.

I think you have it backwards. My PA driver's license is valid in all 50 states, but my PA concealed carry permit is not. That makes no sense whatsoever.

This bill would fix that.

The impetus for this bill was a PA resident, a black nurse, who had a PA carry permit. She was stopped in NJ and thrown in jail. Governor Christie had to issue a pardon to get her out.

She said that Fitzpatrick lied to her face when he said he would support the bill. He is dead to me.

Both my Vietnam vet cousins are gone. Both ended up as medical messes. One was 4 tour special forces, the other was a Marine. Both went through the battle of Hue and were there during the entire Tet offensive. The marine ended up with esophagus cancer, and the green beret had so many things wrong from numerous wounds, but had neurological issues also. I don't think either got any kind of payments, not sure they ever looked into it.
