DOJ Will Take a Second Look at How DOJ and FBI Handled Clinton Email Investigation

First time's the charm.

Because it wasn't really investigated before, was it?

Classified documents among newly released Huma emails found on Weiner's laptop
The Trump administration is launching another probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state, a new report said Thursday.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions hopes to uncover new details on how Clinton and her aides handled classified material, The Daily Beast reported, citing a source close to the former Alabama senator.

"It's wrong and dangerous to weaponize the DOJ into a political weapon," now shriek the people who got the FBI to pay Russians for a bogus dossier and then contrived a special prosecutor for a political opponent.

And that's not all -- apparently Sessions has also ordered another look (really the first look, again) into pay-for-play allegations about the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One.

The Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as secretary of State, law enforcement officials and a witness tells The Hill.

FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in the coming weeks.

The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.

The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.

One witness recently interviewed by the FBI described the session to The Hill as "extremely professional and unquestionably thorough" and focused on questions about whether donors to Clinton charitable efforts received any favorable treatment from the Obama administration on a policy decision previously highlighted in media reports.

Oh, and of course this was going on as this news came out:

69 Presumably the IG report - what, it won't be out until March? - will detail the malfeasance and worse of the "investigation".

And even though it's hopeless .......

It's not an "email" or "private server" investigation. It's an investigation of Espionage Act violations. And of Federal Records Act violations.

And there is no doubt violations took place - massive, conscious, systematic, at a level never before seen. The mere existence, presence of any classified materials outside approved classified systems, is a violation. Period. The investigation is for who committed the crimes of making this happen.

Same with the other law. And it covers ALL the materials, not just the classified ones. The very facts of the situation are a violation of the law - massive, systematic.

No hope for the Beltway media or the brain-dead lib political junkies, but the broader public might gain a better understanding of all this if the basic situation is explained to them. When it is, the absurdity of the "investigation" and its results are obvious.

139 Anyone know if this is another DoJ Inspector General Office investigation?

If so, I'm not hopeful anything concrete will come from this one or the ongoing IG investigations into the FBI and DoJ work on the Clinton email server and Russian collusion investigations.

Sure, the IG will likely say a bunch of DoJ and FBI rules and regs were broken or bent, and he'll make recommendations about corrective actions, but that's about all an IG can say and do. It will then be up to Sessions, or Rosenstein, or someone in DoJ and/or FBI, to decide what if any corrective actions to implement, punishments to mete out, or criminal investigations or indictments to go for.

The ball is going to end up in Sessions' or Rosenstein's or Wray's court. Congress may fume and fuss, but it has no criminal indictment power. Yuck.

The Clinton Foundation was taking big foreign donations right through the election. I don't know all the rules regarding statute of limitations of a criminal enterprise but I do know they are significantly longer than 1 year.

As to a grand jury indicting Hillary from what I hear she isn't all that popular in Arkansas. Conviction might be a higher bar but I bet it would be pretty easy to get an indictment.

223 At the end of last year, some anonymous person posted on 4chan and Reddit that they were an FBI agent, and that there was so much unbelievable, wide-spread, and dire corruption in the entire Federal Government under Obama that it was going to take a very long time to peel all of the layers out and that it was going to go so deeply into government that the entire system might not survive.

The guy gave some pretty credible and significant details and bits of information that it led a lot of credence to his post. Also, what he wrote agreed with much of what I had seen and understood -- and suspected -- to be true.

I think its going to be a very tough, very long slog to dig through everything and get everybody, and probably many will slip through the cracks. This isn't like busting one guy who was ripping off the IRS or something. Its a thousand cases involving many thousands of people in all branches of government, I suspect. Judges, congressmen, heads of agencies, and beyond.

Its like walking up to the Mafia, giving a guy a jaywalking ticket, then finding out about the 5 families all the judges and politicians they own, how widespread the connections are, that its across several states and into other continents. You don't bust that up in a few arrests.

Hey ace,

Here is a quick thought: Sessions recused himself under a ridiculously 'hypothetical' question posed by Al Franken.
And yet Franken had to resign in utter disgrace.
Therefore any responses to Franken's ridiculously hypothetical questions MUST be reviewed and - at least 'temporarily' set aside.
This is to say that in light of Franken's ignominious resignation: the discretionary work he did in the Senate (like questioning politically preferable nominees) needs to be shoved to the side. - Which means that all answers given to the disgraced figure, Franken, must be viewed in the light of bias.
Therefore, Session's high-pressured coerced recusal must be placed in temporary suspension.

Is this approach "_technical_"?
Well, yes it is 'highly' technical.

But look at how the left plays this damn game by parsing terms like "is".

And look at how Comey preempted the Department of Justice and UNPRECEDENTEDLY declared any potential indictment by the DOJ to be inconceivable and somehow wholly inappropriate.

(SO HEY, ace, DO YOU THINK L.LYNCH AND B.H.OBAMA __wanted__ THIS PREEMPTION??
- WELL FUCKING HELL yes THEY WANTED THIS!!!!!

It almost seems like a misdemeanor, next to renting out US foreign policy, weaponizing the FISA process for domestic political purposes, building an entire SecState's operation around flagrantly felonious document handling practices, and all the obstruction of justice and other process felonies involved.

But it would be another count, another plea, or another lever.

Well I'm not an FBI agent or a 4Chan tard but I've saying pretty much this for a year now.

At the root of a lot of this is the corrupt on the Intel Community which was weaponized under Obama and spied on US citizens without a warrant for years. There were serious abuses of the FISA 702 process the were uncovered by Admiral Mike Rogers and he took them to the FISA judge who was none too happy.

This happened in October of 2016 right at the end of the campaign which is also when Obama changed intel privacy laws to allow raw unminimized intel to be shared widely throughout his administration. And the widespread leaking began.

Rogers warned Trump, Clapper and Brennan tried to get Rogers fired and Trump kept Rogers instead.

Lot of loose ends to tie up.

Not only was his name not mentioned, Comey went out of his way to use his title and not his name when he testified to Congress.

It wasn't until early last year that the FBI even informed Congress that they had been running an op on the Trump campaign. Comey went to Congress to answer questions and one of them was why wasn't Congress informed per policy.

He answered that it was recommended to him that he not tell Congress because the investigation was so "sensitive". When asked who gave him that advice his answer was the head of the Counter Intelligence group within the FBI. That was Bill Priestap, Peter Strzok's boss.

If that was going to be the approach he'd have said it when being grilled before congress and the press. Somehow I don't think that's how it worked out. I mean the guy looked Trey Gowdy in the eye and agreed that intent had absolutely nothing to do with the statute that he gave Hillary a pass on. The law doesn't matter to this guy as much as who wins and loses. He thinks he's a paladin fighting demons here.

Apparently Rex Tillerson isn't having any of it, and he specifically went to CNN for an interview, and said that is categorically untrue, I have never questioned his mental fitness. So that puts the lie to CNN's bullshit narrative.

For the Rex haters ponder it.

The are absolutely no threat to the USA. The fact that so many people think that making an atomic bomb suddenly makes you a superpower is shocking to me. They're a stone age country with Chinese help building weapons they cannot control or use.

For crying out loud, they bombed their own country twice, by accident. Their missiles literally fall apart in the air. They can't aim anything, hit anything they aim at, and can't rely on their weapons to not go off on the platform.

I sort of like to think of that happening with the Clintons.

352 Hello. Long time lurker, first time posting. My hubby Jon and I have long been fans of this blog. It's become one of our favorite ways of keeping up with news. And we also enjoy the book threads very much. Jon especially likes any chit chat about anything WWII. He's never been one to enjoy posting on the internet...ever. And I am a bit shy myself.

I'm not sure how one begins here other than just jumping in somewhere.

On topic...My hubby and I are nearing retirement age and like many others, we've been watching the Clinton machine get out of one situation after another for so long. We've watched one hopeful moment pass after another. We've not even so much as raised an eyebrow over a new scandal in so long. It's like it was set in stone or something, "They're Clintons! They always squeak out of trouble!" But for as long as we live, we will relish and always remember the debates between Trump and Hillary. Every now and then we watch the "because you'd be in jail" debate again. It's spectacular. Someone FINALLY got in her face like no one ever has. He didn't care that she's a woman or a past president's wife. We had seen enough of Trump to know he would be tough on her. We were aware he's not PC... but whew! That exceeded our expectations.

Neither Jon or I know why, but after learning this latest scandal is reopened... well, his eyebrow went up. Who knows where this will lead. But, one thing we feel pretty sure of. There's a guy in the White House that doesn't care how it may look or how the media may spin it. He's aware of all the crooks and hooks. He said it multiple times on the campaign trail. "Investigate the investigation." It's not much hope at all. Not a real hope. But it's the first time ever we've felt certain that the Clintons have gotta be feeling pretty seriously threatened. And that warms our hearts on a cold January day.

362 Most of the deaths around the Clintons are just ordinary people dying because that happens in life. You can't be powerful and famous and rich without knowing a lot of people, and at least some of them are going to die over the years. I mean, they're both in their 70s, its not like its unreasonable for some people in their past to kick it.

But there are some that are clearly very suspicious. And for their whole life they've gotten away with it because "nobody would do that!" Its the very assumption that its crazy to say they would off somebody that lets them do that exact thing. And for decades, they've had the power and connections to keep trouble off their backs. This is the first time since the 70s they haven't had direct political power to influence events.

384 Since the Clintons have gotten away with everything for so long, its hard to imagine them being busted for anything, ever.

But it is true that this is the first time in a very long time that the Clintons have not had either direct political power or an ally in office to protect them. And that has to make some difference.

Something is definitely in the wind, but what it is, I do not know.

I fear three possible outcomes:

1) Sound and fury signifying nothing: they get away with it, again.
2) The fight to protect the deep state and clintons gets so out of control and vicious, so desperate that the country is literally torn to pieces -- something I was certain would happen if Clinton was elected in any case.
3) The fight for justice and to punish the corruption so damages and so destabilizes the USA that it wipes out the economy and the nation as a world power for decades, if not longer.

The E-4 was probably from Arkansas. A buddy of mine is from there. According to him, everybody knew who and what the Clintons are. The problem (also according to him) is that most of the connected families in the state liked what the Clintons are.

392 I have already been tried in the court of public opinion. Double jeopardy is illegal. Besides, at this point, what difference does it make?

393 They launched a satellite last year.

So did Tesla. Does that make them a dangerous world power? Russia put a satellite in orbit in the early 1960s, that's a pretty simple process. It does not demonstrate their dread technological skill or prowess.

North Korea is a Chinese "advisor" short of being in the stone age.

Saw a .gif of The Daily Show today with a big 'TDS' logo on the set.

Could be 'The Daily Show,' but also 'Trump Derangement Syndrome.'

Quite apropos.

You are all quite welcome.

But for those who "so easily recognized" that James Comey remains an immediate-arm of Barrack H Obama, you have been strangely silent.

I have heard lots of scathing criticism of Comey personally but absolutely NONE of it directly connecting him to BHObama himself.

GET A CLUE.

The remedial ruse has worked miracles!

We are playing stumbling catch-up.

The question is now: Just how are we going to begin to connect the public's mind to the fact that Comey has been doing the corrupt bidding of Obama??

396 333 You have no idea. Arkansas is like a small town as a state, every knows what is going on even if they don't say much. Think Twin Peaks without the mountains.

Arkansas tales,
Incompetent medical examiner finds two kids smoked dope and fell asleep on train tracks, masked men castrating a rape suspect who raped a cousin of Slick Willy, bags o' cash contributions laundered through small town banks to circumvent federal bank reporting laws, mysterious death of a NW Arkansas prosecutor. Strange misfortunes happening to Willy's democratic political rivals--see former AG Steve Clark for example. You get only a taste of that in Primary Colors. Notice both Webb Hubbell and Betsy Wright who were prominent Clinton Mafia are in seclusion and never in front of the press but are still alive. Leaving out the Billy Jeff sexcapades.

During BJC's salad years, Hot Springs,AR was as mobbed up a town that you could find until Winthrop Rockefeller spoiled the party. Think a southern version of Youngstown, Ohio. Al Capone even came down and took the waters there.

out and paints a smile across the continental US concentrated in the

This would cause almost no damage, but would still give us reason to retaliate. I don't think the norks are that stupid.

I just wish some people from there would bring out the horrendous racist crap they said and did in the past, their campaigns, their statements, the video. You know Bill Clinton is a huge bigoted cracker, just the few little things we've heard from him show it. First black president my ass.

399 Most of the deaths around the Clintons are just ordinary people dying because that happens in life.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at January 05, 2018 03:48 PM
~~~~~
The problem with people dying who are connected to the Clintons is the manner of death. There are just too many "suicides" and murders.
Ask yourself how many friends/acquaintances you know who were murdered. I know of one, just barely, because I never met him, just knew his father. He was murdered by banditos in Mexico while on a business trip. That's it. And I'm NYC born and raised where murder is more common than many other areas.
400 You know it is curious. The Clinton Foundation was created to he stated mission to "strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence." Anyone know what that means, or what they did to achieve that goal? They raised $2 billion dollars with that inspiring mission statement.
None of it...makes any sense.
402 I wish things would proceed more deterministically. Procedures seems amorphous. Any rule or request or summons might be ignored. And though that worked in Obama's favor, I don't see signs that it's working in ours now. It makes me feel seasick - complete chaos.
My opinion: It was started primarily as a way to let Bill travel around the world to give paid speeches (but really to play golf and play around with willing bimbos), all on someone else's dime. Once it got rolling, Bill and his cronies realized they had a gold mine on their hands if they could expand it, so they did.
Okay, ace. I've had it.
I made a decision to try and comment hardly at all any more.
When it dawns on me that we have been massively jacking off to the failed Clinton-third-term ("oh Hillary is just so bad... and inept... and corrupt... and we just hate her so much); and that instead we need to sharply refocus on the potent subrosa work of team Obama: NO ONE GETS IT.
- it just feels sooooooo much better to keep strokin' to the dead-deep-in-the-groud Clintion 'machine'.
411 Ace: "First time's the charm. Because it wasn't really investigated before, was it?"
Actually, it was. And Comey, McCabe, Preistap and Strozk made a conscious decision to Obstruct Justice on Hillary Clinton's behalf despite her obvious guilt.
414 The Clinton Foundation was founded as a way to get rich ("We were dead broke!"), launder bribes, avoid campaign finance laws and keep the permanent campaign workers paid.
Yes, Obama and Clinton are out, but they still have many, many moles, a special prosecutor, a wholly-owned press corps and rich donors.
And their Reichstag Fire is no joke. It comes the day after Rosenstein was forced to let Preistap, Strozk & Co. testify. Grassley also just issued a criminal referral for Christopher Steele's perjured testimony.
It's gettin' real, kids.
416 There is an episode on the show "Billions" on Showtime where Bobby "Axe" Axelrod knows that the law is closing in. His wife is in their basement vault packing up cases of money, gold, stocks, etc. She coordinates a private flight out of the US that will sneak into Switzerland or somewhere in Europe. I wonder is Bill and Hillary are getting ready to execute their bug out plan?
