My annual minimum requirement of Citron is obtained therefrom. I like it too. The much-derided Claxton fruit cake suits me fine. Slightly warmed, perhaps even a smear of butter, with hot tea or coffee.
This year I ran across what looks to be a Claxton rival item, being baked just down the road in, get this, Benson's Bakery in Bogart, Ga.
It's quite good.

When I was TDY to the Midlands we got some very deep snow and people just soldiered on. No whining.
As a Michigander I loved it and had no problem driving in it.
My theory is that sensationalizing the news in general and the weather in particular has made people fearful of nature instead of just fatalistic yet prepared, as one should be.
I have to wonder how my dad's parents felt coming from Sicily to Upstate New York.

I mean, Morons and 'ettes alike, haven't you found yourself 10 minutes into a date and thought, Jeebus, this guy/gal is a lunatic even though his blue eyes/her big boobehs are something to behold? Once or twice I just wanted to throw $100 on the table in the restaurant, say have a nice life and stand up and leave.

My M-I-l makes a "brandied" fruit cake. Essentially, you let a bunch of canned fruit sit on the counter for about a month (covered and stirring to prevent mold) and then mix it into cake batter and bake. Pretty much the opposite of traditional fruit cake, whose goal was to preserve a calorie-dense food for winter nutrition, but a good way to use up older canned fruit that isn't attractive enough to serve "as-is".

It's pretty good. John didn't know what everyone's problem with fruitcake was since his mom's was the only one he'd eaten. Bit of a revelation for him when he was given a piece of traditional style. I found I don't care for citron or green maraschino cherries but I don't object to the bread portion.

All my pipes are running freely now (and nothing burst) because we tracked down the register that was closed in one of the bathrooms. Open register, bathroom is warm, viola! water runs. So, got an Echo Dot for Christmas. Interestingly enough, if you try to carry on a conversation with Alexa, it goes to some sort of AI program that is being tested. Unfortunately, I got the AI that has been programmed by SJW's and told it I thought it was an idiot. Program had no idea who Thomas Sowell was.
Anyway, after I had enough, about 45 seconds, I told the program so and was asked to rate the program, on a scale of 1 to 5. I gave it a 1 and told the programmers to go back to the drawing board.

Anyone happen to see Lyndsey Graham's interview on Fox last night? Without specifically stating it he strongly implied that he knows the dossier was used to fraudulently obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign and transition team.

Not really. We've all suspected this for a long time to the point of being certain but Graham claims to have seen evidence of how exactly the dossier was used and stated that we need a special prosecutor to sort it out because it was used in an unlawful way. He wasn't speculating, he was stating his conclusion after seeing the evidence.
To the best of my knowledge, that is the fist time we have actual confirmation.
