On the one hand, we have the freedom to talk about fighting the government, threatening it with citizen revolt, and calling for the government to topple. Certainly with a Hillary presidency most of us would be doing so today. I fear what would have happened to the country, to be honest.
And truly, I do love the left's new distrust of government and desire for less federal power. Welcome to the party, pals.
But at the same time, there has to be a point at which this level of maniacal hysteria has a cost. You cannot just let people lie and undermine the constitution in the name of fighting tyranny. There is so little legal precedence on impeachment, that it's laughable to pretend to write a book about what legal arguments would and wouldn't work.
It's a political process. If 2/3 of the house and senate want you out, then you're out. For whatever reason they want.
If they don't, you're not.

There is so little legal precedence on impeachment, that it's laughable to pretend to write a book about what legal arguments would and wouldn't work.
It's a political process. If 2/3 of the house and senate want you out, then you're out. For whatever reason they want.
If they don't, you're not.
That's all there is to it.

So his "nudge" theory is that "we" (who? Well, him and the other smart people) need to use nudges to get people to do what Sunstein wants, instead of using force.
Tribe, for instance, would say "fuck it, lets go full-on for whatever I believe in" while Sunstein would (and has) approved of, for example, the Kennedy gay rights decisions that went from Lawrence v Texas (narrow issue, can a state make sodomy a crime?) to Obergefelt or whatever the fuck the lead plaintiffs name was (gay marriage is a right guaranteed by the 14th amendment)

I do not think the left has the remotest clue what they've been stirring up. The average guy will put up with an awful lot for the sake of their neighbors, their family, their nation. These are men and women who often have fought in real wars and know the hell that it is. These are decent, hard working people who do not want to go there.

We have a permanent class of experts that wield far too much influence. Susstein is no more an expert than thousand of lawyers with similar backgrounds, he has just made a career of being an expert and has no problem injecting his politics into the discussion seamlessly to make it seem the law always favors his views.

I have no illusions that the darker angels of either side or both being unleashed leads to anything good Cavil but at the end of the day I expressed my "alleged hatred" of an ideological foe this very day by handing her a computer I had built for my wife 6 years ago because my wife had me build her a new system a few weeks back.
My faith, my civic training, and the creed I swore an oath to has me looking at the left as a rival not an enemy.
If it is ever made plain they are irrevocably an enemy and not a rival then I will reanalyze 45 years of behavior and apply different prisms.
