Strzok Wrote That Trump Could Not Be Permitted to Become President, and That an "Insurance Policy" Was Necessary

Jim Jordan connected up two of Strzok's most conspiracy-suggesting outbursts to the timing of the the FBI's -- probably actually Strzok's -- application for a FISA warrant to "spy on Americans."

That video is below, but here are the two text chains he focuses on.

So there you have Strzok saying he can "protect the country at many levels" from the "menace" of Trump in his position as an FBI agent.

Then he talks about a conversation that happened in Andrew McCabe's office-- remember, McCabe's wife ran for office in Virginia as a Democrat and was partly bankrolled by Friend of Hillary Terry MacAuliffe -- in which McCabe, Lisa Page, and Andrew Strzok apparently spent work-time discussing the menace of a Trump presidency.

Although Lisa Page threw out a "path" by which she claimed Trump could not win te race -- and we don't know what this "path" was about -- Strzok was still too worried about the prospect of it, and announced "I'm afraid we can't take that risk" and cryptically refers to an "insurance policy" against that possibility:

The video below begins mid-quotation, but Jordan is quoting from the texts above. He knits these together to show that Strzok was a man who considered himself the last insurance policy against a Trump presidency, which just might be why he then packaged up the Steele dossier and presented it to a FISA court to get warrants to begin spying on Trump associates.

Update: Chuck Ross sketches a partial timeline, too:

I really like Andrew McCarthy - he's a good guy who's done yoeman's work on a lot of things - but he has a horrible history of vouching for the worst sorts of lowlife dipshits at the DOJ.

I'm glad he admitted his mistake, here (assuming you are correct) but I still wouldn't take his opinion about these things seriously.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at December 13, 2017 12:34 PM (8gDQu)

75 Alex, I've noted before that McCarthy is an invaluable resource when it comes to the mechanics, and even merits, of counter-terror investigations, things like having Gitmo for illegal alien combatants, and even occasionally for the Systemic Lawlessness that has destroyed the judicial system (the 4 authoritarian-racist SCOTUS justices "vote, they don't judge").

But as he advertised boldly starting with the prosecutor in the ridiculous Scooter Libby lynching, he's an idiot when it comes to assessing his fellow prosecutors and law enforcement personnel generally. Don't think that's too strong a term here.

Oh well, there are many commentators like this out there - valuable in some areas, laughably clueless in others. As with "information" these days, one must be one's own editor, fact-checker, investigator, and panel of experts - a key reason why America is so lost, as few people (reasonably enough) have the inclination, background or resources to do those things.

For fuller context, McCarthy was quoting the insurance text.

That being said, no, I will not retract my comments. McCarthy has a very long and illustrious history of being completely and totally on the side that the FBI and the DOJ are totes the most integrity filled and awesomest evah in the history of evah! As one would expect from someone who worked in the SDNY US Attorney's office.

He shot his wad about it without bothering to read to see what people were upset about and now he's trying to cover his ass.

If the fake dossier was used to obtain the warrant that started the whole fake investigation, wouldn't anything they discover after that be obsolete due to the "fruit of the poisonous tree"?"

That's why Mueller is shifting towards trying to prove "Obstruction of Justice", a process crime, because those charges would be completely independent of any of the original evidence. Which is also why they are such complete garbage - it's how Scooter Libby got convicted even though all of the evidence showed he was innocent of the charges made against him.

131 When your investigation is the source of all the crimes being charged, it is time to shut it down.

Typically you can't obstruct justice in a case without any underlying crime. Firing Comey and trying to end the investigation was a good decision - it is definitively correct decision because you can say you had a prosecutor who was out of control pursuing a non-crime.

I think Trump should make this statement now - ask what the special prosecutor is actually prosecuting. Ask him for an interim report on the Russian collusion investigation. If the report says zip, then shut the investigation down - how can you obstruct an investigation into nothing?

So in this case, I'm thinking "yeah, this is straight up conspiracy . . . but how did they pull it off so quickly? "

Well, my pessimistic belief is - this ain't the first time they called this play. May have been the first sting they ran on Trump, but there have been others before this. That's scary.

Once upon a time, when I was working for the psychopaths, a former co-worker of mine was being considered for a position. Now, mind you, at the prior firm I was a temp who was doing secretarial work and nothing more and was the lowest person on the totem pole as it should have been. There were also maybe 12 people total who worked there.

I gave a very polite well she was a senior paralegal and I was only the secretary so I didn't really work with her one on one that much so I cannot say one way or another if she would be a good hire.

They hire her. It goes to shit. The office manager says to me why didn't you warn us not to hire her and I flailed at her but but but I did! I mean, ffs, who doesn't know that oh well there were only 12 of us in the whole place but I didn't really know her is the polite way of saying FLEE FLEE NOW!

Calling on all attorneys who read here.

Why can't Sessions say:
"Mr Storzk if you were acting on behalf of the FBI in this plot to prevent the President from taking office would you care to name names? Otherwise you and your girlfriend will be tried as rouge agents and we are going to send you to prison for a very long time. Your choice."

How does his (Sessions) recusal from the "MUELLER PROBE PROBE Probe probe...." (echo off) prevent him form prosecuting this?

Can crooks say they had lunch with Mueller and then be off limits for other crimes?

Seems to me that the crime of conspiracy is a separate crime from what Mueller has targeted.

How does any of this fail stand up to any scrutiny and yet there is no one allowed to question or prosecute unless they are on team Hillary?

Isn't this one of those Reas Ipsalor moments. (I'm not an attorney, I'm sure you noticed). The thing speaks for itself. Two people talk about creating a conspiracy of secret plans, and then there is evidence and documentation that it occurred. The literally texted about committing treason and then put the plan into action. Ergo Crime and intent?

Is there anything that is not in scope of Mueller that Sessions can take action on? Isn't evidence that the Mueller investigation is the pointy end of a conspiracy to commit treason sort of nullify the whole thing?

Greed, from top to bottom is to blame. From the broker who sold a house they knew the buyer couldn't afford, to the buyer who lied on the mortgage apps, to the banker who underwrote the loan knowing full well it would be collateralized off his books for the tax-payer to absorb. I blame the bankers most because they're the only ones in the equation who knew full well that they'd be made whole at everyone else's expense.

390 You act as if the only people to be affected by an
estate tax would be unethical bankers. Wouldn't it be more sensible to
go after the unethical bankers instead? And given regulatory capture,
they'd be able to evade such taxes anyway. Moar government burdens never
solves these problems, they just exacerbate them.

It was always only a thought exercise since it'd be so easy to game the system, but my first thought would be to set the threshold extremely high (billionaire territory). And obviously no one is talking about leaving survivors destitute.

Plus the GSEs were buying up the most dead of the debt. A year or two before the collapse, I remember reading an article that Fannie and Freddie owned up to 80% of the mortgage defaults in America. And economy street preachers claimed crazy things like it "couldn't continue forever".

The GSEs going into receivership, meant that the bad-housing debt market had no sink. Which meant that with Mark-to-Market accounting, the bundles took direct hits, despite that there was still value in the bundle that could recover the asset.

It's just amazing how massive a scam housing has been since the 90s, and how long those plates stayed spinning...until they started falling.

And then, when the GSEs go into receivership, all that debt is owned by... the American people!!

398 The estate tax targets farmers, ranchers, and small businesses. It targets small to medium size businesses by causing family strife so larger companies can come in and take them over.

She is McCabe's flunky and she seems to wind up, poke, and get Swzorielkjfgtk upset and/or into his "save democracy!" and the politically upset "damsel" mode. She slept with him, kept him informed, led him around by his ****, and perhaps goaded him into doing very, very stupid things. This is no excuse but it is part of the dynamic from the texts that I have seen. And they are both inept socially and rather stupid to boot.

================================

It was the underlying loans themselves that crashed the system. The loans were made to uncreditworthy borrowers and the trading market only died when the asset turned out to be worthless.

Trading the assets helps in discovering the real value. Stopping trading is a sure-fire way to make the bubble issue worse by far. Think of it this way: If two people argue over the value of a car one wants to sell and other wants to by they have only their two opinions to consider. If, however, hundreds of potential buyers can weigh in, the real "value" is far more quickly established.

Stopping trading only slows down value discovery.

Collins was a no on health care reform. This was her big issue. IT's ben taken care of.

McCain was the other "no". But he doesn't even know where his dick is anymore.

This will help get the votes for a new reform bill. IT will eventually force it by bankrupting the system.

409 Everyone seems to like Watergate analogies for this whole Special Prosecutor thing. But IIRC, AG John Mitchell wound up cooling his heels in prison partly because conspirators against the sitting President's opposition were meeting in his office.

McCabe & Co. - and their media enablers - might want to review that part of the record, too.

411 Isn't this one of those Reas Ipsalor moments. (I'm
not an attorney, I'm sure you noticed). The thing speaks for itself. Two
people talk about creating a conspiracy of secret plans, and then there
is evidence and documentation that it occurred. The literally texted
about committing treason and then put the plan into action. Ergo Crime
and intent?

Is there anything that is not in scope of Mueller
that Sessions can take action on? Isn't evidence that the Mueller
investigation is the pointy end of a conspiracy to commit treason sort
of nullify the whole thing?

Here's the deal. The group of people who "investigated" (covered up and buried) Uranium One is the same group of people who "investigated" (covered up and buried) Hillary's e-mails, the same group of people who worked with Fusion GPS, got the dossier and the FISA warrants, and conducted (probably illegal) domestic surveillance against the Trump campaign and the Presidential transition, and the same group of people who now (or until recently, in some cases) occupy the Special Counsel's office investigating the President. They appear all to be partisan Democrats of the Clinton persuasion and to work seamlessly with outside groups like Fusion GPS, which was funded by the Clinton campaign and the DNC to produce the dossier. I wonder if this same group of people were involved in the decision to accept the CrowdStrike report that the DNC was hacked by Russians (not by Seth Rich) and not to examine the DNC server (because that might uncover contrary evidence), but rather to use the CrowdStrike report as corroborating evidence of a Russian conspiracy, bolstering the case for the FISA warrants and the domestic surveillance? This is bigger than Watergate.

That's a police state coup attempt.
