A lot of that is subjective too.
Some people are touchy feely, and will kiss you on the cheek routinely.

Trump is the most conservative President we have ever had he also appeals to blue collar Democrats.
So in order to primary him you would have to run to his right, which you can't and no other potential GOP candidate appeals to blue collar Democrats.
If a GOPe would dare run against him it would merely to bloody him and allow a democrat to win.

One of my pet peeves (which are approaching Avogadro's number in magnitude) is assholes saying "Californians don't know how to drive in rain/snow."
First, 90% of the people here came here as adults from the Northeast or upper Midwest. Did they forget how to drive in inclement weather as they drove here?
Second, I've lived in the Northeast and Midwest, and people drive like assholes in inclement weather there, too. Many was the time I was passed by assholes driving 70 mph in raging blizzards. Native Californian transplants, perhaps?

I saw it in 3D when it first came out. I agree on the story being thin ("No plot to get in the way of the story," as Joe Bob Briggs would say were he here.), but I liked it. The production story is good, especially how Besson came up with all the different aliens. It was a throwback, IMHO.
Innocent in a way I haven't seen in a movie for a long time.

They destroyed that woman psychologically from the time they put her on the task force. she could not handle herself on the first trip to juarez, went downhill form there.

It's kinda hard to identify with people who're playing kingmaker with cartels instead of trying to stop them. Also, Alejandro shoots the bad guy's whole family.
It's not like he didn't have a legitimate beef, but still I'd say you took a wrong mental turn when you're shooting children.

Well, I agree about the action and the cool factor. My position that the movie is stupid has to do with the main characterette - whatever her name is. Movie would have been better titled broke back bitch.
They destroyed that woman psychologically from the time they put her on the task force. she could not handle herself on the first trip to juarez, went downhill form there.
was constantly working against the team. got her ass beat more than once, and in the end was completely ruined.
why bother to have her character in there at all? would have been better with lots of shooting cartel losers.

He was doing more than just getting revenge for himself. He was sending a message to the heads of the other cartels. You step over the line, you pay the price. The US enabled him to get there to send their own message about taking violence across the border, but his message was if you go after families, you put your own at risk.
Sure, it's not nice to make kids pay for the crimes of their fathers, but if the cartels are going to play that game, well, both sides know how to play it.
The murdered his daughter by dropping her, alive, into a barrel of acid. He at least gave the cartel leader's kids a quick death.

Hmmmm.... maybe. Even taking into account the strength of Fentalyn, this doesn't sound right. It's cut into the dope in small amounts and there'd only be small amounts to come into contact with. I get that with zero tolerance it will affect you more, but... really you'd have to be scooping up piles of the stuff to approach getting an actual overdose. Getting stoned from traces, yeah. But an actual overdose? Call me cynical, but these cops and nurses that are overdosing might be doing more than they're letting on.

It's been awhile, but I remember the daughter being a reporter. Alejandro was an accountant or something, not involved in the business.
Like I said, the boss deserves it. But I still think no matter what the situation, when the thought "And now I'm gonna shoot the lady and her two young children" goes through your head it's time to follow your train of logic back a bit to see where you went wrong.

i'd dump the overfill on the floor of the laminar flow hood and put the cracked parts of my hand in the liquid. never got the least bit high, but the local pain went away. if it's not IV, or maybe inhalation (smoking/sorting), you're not going to get high.

A fatal dose of Fentanyl is 2 or 3 mg. Imagine twenty grains of sand or thereabouts. When you consider there are easily hundreds if not thousands of interactions with these drugs, and something like a hundred fatal overdoses a day across the country, bad things can occasionally happen.
At those tiny fatal dosages, I wouldn't trust my life to quality control of drug cartels to ensure proper and thorough mixing. Add in that overdoses actually increase a drugs appeal to the junkies, because they are going to get a stronger high, and the dealers have no reason to care who dies.

I hear you. But, it would have to be very, very rare. It's not impossible, but unlikely. The amount of dope traces one would be coming into contact with, would be low. The suppliers would have to be cutting in such large amounts, on a regular basis, for this to be a relatively common risk. I understand what you're saying with the lack of quality control and strength attraction... but... seriously, such a thing makes zero business sense. The amount one would have to include, in order to overdose someone by trace contact, would kill any user stone dead, no matter high high the tolerance, with every shot, no matter how small the amount used. I believe that the makers have actually done this, before, but it would be far from common and would corrected riki tiki. You can't kill your customers with dope that is too dangerous to even look at.
I still suspect something else may be going on.

And I've been an avid shooter since my early teens.
I've used my S&W Model 28 revolver competitively since the early '80s. It has about 70k rounds though it. Enough so that the flame cutting under the top strap is noticeable.
Then, add in all of Uncle Sam's Loud Noise training, combat exercises sans hearing protection, participation in USAF Rifle & Pistol competition (TDY to team, nothing but practice, 5 days per week, never less than 500 rounds per day).
Loud power tools, bending wrenches in the hot, loud, cramped engine rooms of yachts while underway.
Oh, and a few hundred thousand motorcycle miles.
I'm GRATEFUL I've never had to experience the hell of combat, as all of my noise exposure would be but the sound of the symphony tuning up before the baton is waved.
It's a one way trip, this hearing thing. I've TRIED to take care of mine over the years.
But it does add up. It just, does.

2 to 3 milligrams is not a tiny dose of fenanyl... it is a huge dose as prescription fentanyl is measured in micrograms. When my son was in chronic pain he used 50 microgram patches which is 5% of one milligram.
And drug dealers may be poor pharmacologists but they do care if their customers die as that means fewer people buying their product. They care enough that narcan is now becoming a "street drug" in danger of being stolen because drug dealers dispense that too.

The Department of Forensic Science in Virginia is way backlogged for that very reason. Cops are afraid to do field tests on substances that might be pure powder fentanyl that might kill them so it is all being shipped to DFS to test instead.

Yeah, a 59 Caddy Coupe DeVille uses the same windshield as a 59 Chevy Bel Aire. And other than a few inches of difference in wheelbase, sits on the same chassis.
After that, the similarities ... grow fewer.
Lincoln could sell the Continental (really, it replaces the old Town Car) and the Navigator. And damn near well get by.
And if they added a sporty, LUXURY two door, they'd have a lock.
Same with GM and Cadillac. Dump most of the lineup, go upscale and make 'em more exclusive.
Used to be, there was something special about owning a Caddy or a Lincoln.
But now?
Rental fleets are full of them.

That will never happen again. Cars are no longer built to look cool. They are designed in a wind tunnel and they are only given very little leeway in how the car body can be modified. Most of the variation isn't going to be in the overall shape but the design of the grille and headlight shape.

And while I would have liked to have seen Ohio State get in, I'm really not that beat up about it, just should have gone with a team from another conference besides the SEC. Probably would have been playing Clemson in the first game and they would have had an entire month to come up with a defensive scheme to cover the receivers with minimal personnel beyond 15 yards and keep a spy on Barrett all game to shut him down.
Would have beaten Wisconsin by 3 more TDs in that game if the backup who actually can throw a pass downfield was in instead.

Whatever, maybe the destruction of the Buckeyes by Clemson last year was in the minds of the committee with their decision. I hope Clemson destrys Alabama this year and has the same effect next.
