The Morning Report 12/5/17

eatmebehar.jpg

Good morning kids. The top story today continues to the be the continuing insanity of the Mueller "investigation" which, with the Torquemada-ing of Michael Flynn has officially morphed from trying to find/fabricate evidence of "collusion" into a political witch hunt into "obstruction." The ultimate goal, though, remains the same to overthrow a wholly legitimate election to impeach the President and subvert the will of the American people. I don't think we need another spy agency to fight the Deep State; I just think we need to defang, defund and destroy it by removing the miscreants infecting the bureaucracy - after the wholesale elimination of at least 50% of the lot.

Andy McCarthy's lead piece lays it all out in detail, and for those keen on listening to Rush Limbaugh gradually morph into Mark Levin, yesterday he went on an extended tear about this entire sham. For nearly 20 minutes it seemed as if he didn't take a breath and you can almost hear the veins start bulging in his neck. As an aside, he noted that the influx of Puerto Ricans dislocated from last summer's hurricane might have the effect of permanently turing Florida Democrat which perhaps by 2020 could politically mean that if Democrats once again control Congress, impeachment and then conviction and removal from office could be a distinct possibility. I don't know about the latter, but Florida has been teetering for several cycles and PDT winning it the last go round was crucial. If we lose that state we have trouble in River City going forward vis a vis presidential elections.

In other news, as the smear against Roy Moore evaporates, the candidate is pulling away and will more than likely pull out a win. Yes, I know that another "victim" has stepped forward. But with less than a week to go, I expect nothing less from the smear merchants. In any case, the GOP has waved the white flag and is now once again backing the candidate and the President has issued a formal announcement endorsing him.

Now that the tax bill has cleared both the Senate and the House, it heads for a conference committee to reconcile both bills into one. From a practical standpoint, sure it's a disappointment and there are sops to "soaking the rich" and other chunks gristle in it. But from a political standpoint, it would be a huge win for the President, especially after a year of obstruction and even open revolt from his (supposed) own party. In any case, Nancy Pelosi declared it to be the equivalent of the Holocaust, Armageddon and Slavery combined. So, I suppose that beyond the typical knee-jerk hyperbole, maybe with that kind of ringing endorsement, there might actually be some good things in it that can really ignite an economic boom. And Nancy, you might want to keep a little bit of rhetoric in reserve as the President's next target is welfare reform. Still not tired of winning.

In judicial news, the SCOTUS completely reinstated the President's travel ban, and as one Hordester quipped, we can expect the Judge in Hawaii to announce any moment that the Supreme Court is null and void, and hereby dissolved. Also, a very important case is being heard this week dealing with a Colorado bakery refusing to make a cake for a homosexual wedding. Interesting enough, friend of the court brief was filed on behalf of the bakers by the Foundation for Moral Law, an advocacy group started by - you guessed it - Roy Moore. Stay tuned for that.

Also of note are a couple of good pieces about the proposed merger between CVS and Aetna Insurance. While "disruption," that is the wholesale upending of business models, seems to be all the rage in corporate America, perhaps this sort of thing can help shake up the healthcare industry in a good way; especially if we can somehow get rid of Obamacare, even just the mandates.

Lastly, a decision is expected soon whether or not the US will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel. The President is expected to give the green light for it, which is sure to cause heads to explode around the world, if not bombs.

And that about covers mostly all the bases. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

Sure looks like he was placed in those positions *because* he had bias.
Hillary gets a pass because Hillary's inside man heads up the investigation.

And let's finally take an honest look at others on the Mueller team, because it's a rogue's gallery of Clintonites, including a CGI lawyer.

17 It has moved on to much more than Russia or so-called Obstruction.

Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating alleged Russian election meddling, reportedly subpoenaed Deutsche Bank several weeks ago, calling on the German bank to submit data pertaining to its client relationship with President Trump.

And so the witch hunt continues. For the life of me I can not see that this German bank which they say Trump owes money to can have to do with 'collusion with Russia'. Trump needs to fire this SOB and tell the Democrats and DIABLOs like Graham to eat a BODs. Of course the Democrats are all happy with this shit.

It interested me that he didn't follow the logical conclusion of his question, could a King play the same roll as Martin Luther in a religious war? Except in the case of Barack Obama who was, and continues to, actively attempt the destruction of the United States. Right. Saud's legitimacy (and fate) is inextricably tied to two things that are actually of a piece: It's sacred and immutable role as custodian and defender of the two holy cities, and its fateful alliance with Wahhabi clerisy (a fate it was condemned to with the original Saud-Ikhwan alliance almost a century ago).

Any parsing of Saudi intentions that doesn't put those items foremost (like the risible suggestion that KSA is going to 'ally with Israel') starts from an untenable premise.

78 The FBI really has become an inept and corrupt political organization.

Former Assistant Director for Counterintelligence at the FBI. Frank Figliuzzi writes in a piece for NBC News that terrorism in the United States is changing quickly to a strategy where terrorism is merely mitigated and contained.

Rather than halting immigration from particularly dangerous and terrorist-sanctioned regions of the world, Figliuzzi says Americans may have to change the way they live, noting how Americans in the car rental business and hotel industry are now subject to 'rigorous training' on terrorism-related issues.

I am glad this sorry SOB is 'former'.

204 Carol Burnett was and remains the funniest woman there is. Her show may have been groundbreaking as a woman-led variety show in Prime Time, but it stayed because it was funny, it lampooned all without insulting or devolving into outright filth.

Probably the best part of the show was that Harvey Korman and Tim Conway were absolutely ruthless in trying to make each other laugh, Conway was the worst offender but they all did it and those moments made the Carol Burnett Show such a massive success.

One of the funniest bits was Tim Conway as a dentist who kept stabbing himself with the Novocaine needle and losing feeling in various body parts while Harvey Korman was in the chair. So much of what Tim Conway did was unscripted and unrehearsed and made Harvey laugh so hard he pissed his pants.

Television it was funny once...and young.

CMP 1911 Information

To all CMP constituents:

The CMP Board of Directors has discussed at length how the sales of 1911s would be handled, if the CMP were to ever receive them from the United States Army.

Some preliminary decisions:

1. Decisions concerning the grade and pricing of the 1911s will not be made until inspection has occurred of a substantial quantity which will take an estimated 150 days post receipt.
2. All laws pertaining to the sale of 1911s by CMP will be strictly obeyed.
3. Potential purchasers will have to provide to CMP a new set of documents exhibiting: 1) proof of U.S. Citizenship, 2) proof of membership in a CMP affiliated club, 3) proof of participation in a marksmanship activity, 4) a new form 2A with notary, 5) successful completion of a NICS background check, 6) a signed copy of the 01 Federal Firearms License in which the 1911 will be transferred to.
4. The CMP customer will be required to complete a form 4473 in person and successfully complete another NICS check by the recipient FFL holder before the pistol can be transferred.
5. Qualified CMP customer will only be allowed to purchase one 1911 per calendar year.
6. No 1911s available in the CMP stores, or on line, only mail order sales.
7. CMP will set the date in which it will accept orders for the 1911s. The date will be posted to the world.
8. Orders will only be accepted via mail order delivery.
9. Orders will only be accepted post marked on the date or after, no early orders.
10. Once CMP receives 10,000 orders, customer names will be loaded into the Random Number Generator.
11. The Random Number Generator will provide a list of names in sequence order through a random picking process to CMP.
12. Customers will be contacted in the sequence provided by the Random Number Generator.
13. When the customer is contacted a list of 1911 grades and pricing options that are available will be offered for selection of one.
14. As CMP proceeds down the sequenced list less grade and pricing options will be available. Again, this done completely random.

208 The U.S. Navy has wasted roughly $4 billion in taxpayer money over the past six years due to the repeated failure by Congress to pass a budget that fully funds the military, the secretary of the service said Monday.

Congress has forced the military to operate under stopgap spending bills for the past eight years to avert government shutdowns amid partisan divisions. The temporary budgets freeze defense funding, forcing the Defense Department to shuffle funds from modernization and hiring to support current missions.

With government funding set to expire on Friday, Republicans are moving to pass another short-term resolution to avoid a shutdown and buy more time to negotiate a long-term spending package.

Lawmakers will have to reconcile the cost of the National Defense Authorization Act with current spending limits, but members have yet to strike a deal. A showdown is expected because Senate Democrats have pledged to block major increases to defense spending unless Republicans approve equal increases to nondefense programs.

.This used to pi$$ me off big time. I had a mix of about 50-50 Civil Service people and Contractors in my shop. Without fail two weeks or so before the end of the current Continuing Resolution we would have to *notify* the Contractors that their contract employment may be cancelled and not renewed even if we get another CR passed. That would lead to a flurry of job hunting for them just in case they showed up to work on Monday and didn't have a job.

It was constantly demoralizing and I lost the competent contractors quickly because of that $hit.

227 With Moore; pretty sure the allegations that he sought to date young adult women while in his 30s are legit, but not sure if they're a big deal. Pretty doubtful the allegations of assaulting underage girls are true.

Don't much care for him anyway, there's more than a touch of the nutter about him.

Still, given the choice between a nutter and another borg drone for the Democrat collective, I would have to vote for Roy Moore; not that I would be proud of it, but the Democrats are just too evil to be given another vote.

265 Many a social liberalization has spun out of control and produced anarchy or fascist counterrevolution. But well-wishers have long hoped that some Muslim Martin Luther would purge Islam of its quotient of bloodlust and allow the self-perfecting, ethical version of its peaceful adherents to prevail in a secular society, where separation of mosque and state makes religion a private matter. In a medieval region like Arabia, it turns out, a king might do the job equally well--if he can survive to inherit the throne and rule from it. And then the question will be whether his revolution can last, as the Pahlavis' and Mustafa Kemal Atatü'rk's did not.

========

Those well wishers are naive. But I do like this guy. He's taken out a**holes who have funded a "long march" through our institutions for decades. He has a cordial relationship with PDT. And he wants to build up SA's economy. I suspect most western leaders, like Merkel or Obama want to see ME regimes fail economically, so they can collect refugees in a bid to increase their political power.

313 Here's something interesting that I found last night.

The counterintelligence investigation started in July of 2016. Our old new friend Peter Strzok was in charge of it as the Deputy Head of Counterintelligence at the FBI.

Normally, when a counterintelligence investigation is started the FBI notifies 3 organizations, the President, the DNI and relevant members of Congress. However, in this case that did not happen. Congress was not notified until March of 2017. Think about that, Congress was kept in the dark of the Russia investigation until after the 2016 election.

But there's more. According to Comey's testimony before Congress the reason made to not involve Congress was because of the "sensitivity of the matter". Oh really, is that the new standard? And who helped Comey make the decision to not inform Congress? According to Comey it was the head of the counterintelligence unit, Strozk's boss whom I can't seem to identify yet.

He also lied to the committee when he claimed that the DNI was not informed because there was no DNI. That's false, at the time the investigation was started the DNI was one James Clapper.

If you have the time, watch this video of Comey's testimony at least until the 3 minute marks. This is pretty astounding.

No, actually, you can't. Eat as much unprocessed meat as you like. It's the sugars (including fruit), grains, and starches (potato, corn quinoa) that people overeat and make insulin levels spike that cause weight gain and inflammation. Nothing wrong with unprocessed meat.

Vegetables are easy. Buy a monster box of fresh spinach, it lasts well over a week. Saute and add that to everything from eggs to meat topping. Roast a handful of brussels sprouts, takes 20 min tops. There was this sense of him being everyone's "savior." Weird, I know, although we're familiar with the concept of the presidential diety.

The depression was so traumatic, the country blamed the republicans and saw in FDR the messiah who would save them. He could do no wrong.

Seriously weird shit. Also remember that up until the internet, the left controlled ALL NEWS.

I have never seen fresh spinach here, but I haven't looked because I don't like it. I do like collard greens but you can only get them at certain times of the year and I don't know how to cook them. So usually I go to one of the local "country kitchens" for those.

Love mushrooms, usually eat those with spaghetti, steak, or even in omelets. Eat onions with everything.

400 I have never seen fresh spinach here, but I haven't looked because I don't like it.

It's right next to the lettuce (bags and boxes) at the grocery store. If you don't like something (which as an adult you can get over) just put hot sauce on it or vinegar. You have to try things to learn to like it. You have to eat dark green something every day. Spinach is the easiest and cheapest. Buried in an omelette with hot sauce, you won't even know it's there.

I don't know that it's obvious yet. Right now it's easy to discount what impact the OIG's report might have but there is a very good chance that report could be the catalyst for a new investigation into the Hillary emails and this time with a completely different cast of investigators.

We all know crimes were committed. Hell, Comey himself admitted there were serious crimes, and all we need is a fair and impartial DOJ to take a look at the same information with a new outlook.

And that doesn't include what might happen with Uranium One which I still think is at the heart of all of this Russia stuff. The Dems might be the ones playing serious damage control in 2018.

Even nate silver has kept his trap shut about that possibility and trust me, if it was even remotely likely he would be all over the place writing articles and giving interviews about it.

His polling only shows a D+8 for the generic Congressional polling. That won't even get them close to a take over. And they are polling only Registered Voters right now. I will wait to panic if they start getting higher numbers when they switch over to likely voters next summer.

447 "I think if the economy is humming, PDT continues to win big, and there is not huge foreign policy disaster the Dem's strategy will backfire hugely and we might actually increase our majorities.Posted by: Nevergiveup

yeah ... not sure what deals Trump made with the Goldman Boyz on his team, but we need to keep the underlying economy strong, not just juiced up markets.

a side note, I buy some beer making equipment and just found out northern Brewer was bought by Budweiser a year ago. They bought a few other larger suppliers. And Budweiser itself was bought years back by some Belgium/Brazil team and is HQed in Belgium.

The Big Money that is fabricated from thin air for these deals makes it hard for independents to resist. And our government has backed zero interest rate policy ... after decades of easy money. This makes billionaires out of gamblers that get government (us) to back their bets.

It is not capitalism ... "capital" used to be real stuff. Now money is created from thin air by Wall Street "magicians". They are buying everything with funny money, including our Republic.

Heh.

Similarly themed story out of eastern PA I saw this morning. Looks like a local school board voted NOT to build a $58 million school, because they just don't need it and don't want to have to raise taxes to pay for it.

Are we witnessing a slow remission back into civic sanity here?

450 We the People killed a wind-farm project in Fulton, County Indiana last week. 3 commissioners against thousands of very irate residents. No, make that 2 commissioners. One's daughter worked for the company proposed to build these bastard-machines and recused himself. Lake and river, forests, fields, farmland. We don't need no stinking windmills grinding up our eagles and hawks.

453 I don't credit FDR much with winning WWII.

-----------

Again, I don't think it is crediting him with winning WWII - but an acknowledgement that he was the President during most of it - and America (the military, the civilians) performed great and won a great battle.

Easy to see why that generation loved him and why subsequent generations can nominally praise him, especially while WWII is still in our memory bank.

History will probably be less kind to him - and already is.

454 The funniest and most important story is the RNC now bowing down to Roy Moore. Five days ago defeating the judge was a moral imperative. Now the cucks are throwing money at him like he's a child prostitute in a Thai bar. The cuck media--NR, Fox--doesn't utter his name after days of non-stop smears. It's hilarious from a gallows humor perspective.

It's also important. Money just isn't as important as in days past. As the Deep State realizes it can't control the masses with the money spigot it almost assuredly will make coups and juntas a regular feature of American life. The "Trump investigation" farce probably is a taste of the future unless the Deep State is dismantled now. It's an open question as to what will happen but the future looks bleak but funny.

The thing about proxy battles is they allow countries to fight in smaller conflicts rather than larger ones. I have no idea what would have happened if we had not fought in Korea or Vietnam - but in general I believe the alternative would have been worse.

469 Carol Burnett was and remains the funniest woman there is. Her show may have been groundbreaking as a woman-led variety show in Prime Time, but it stayed because it was funny, it lampooned all without insulting or devolving into outright filth.

========

Female comedians have gotten less funny with the angry SJW personas. Men too. George Carlin and a few others could pull of the angry/cynical guy persona, but it's not really something that fits most comedians well.

470 Sure. For one, what you call undermining some may call "diplomacy" and building bridges. Stalin was an enigma.
Posted by: runner at December 05, 2017 09:23 AM (E9vLe)

Winick made it very clear that FDR told Churchill what he intended to do in sucking up to Stalin but then got nothing for doing so, probably because the rooms were bugged. Plus he pointed out, in great detail, just how horrendous Delano's health was at that time (you can see it in the photos) and how he just wasn't up to the task of going toe to toe with someone who just didn't give a fuck. As a result, Eastern Europe is sold out for forty years by someone who held the high hand.

475 This may have already been noted, but a Jones-supporting PAC is running ads in Alabama clearly aimed at voter intimidation.

"Your vote is public record, and your community will know whether or not you helped stop Roy Moore," says a voice in the ad.

After receiving inquiries and complaints, the Secretary of State issued a statement clarifying that individual votes are not recorded and remain private.

The PAC, Highway 31, was formed on November 8 and has spent $2 million on campaign ads thus far. Highway 31 has resisted reporting its donors to the FEC.
