CNN Reports That Trump-Bashing FBI Agent Strzok Was Responsible for "Softening" Comey's Language on Hillary Emails from "Gross Negligence" (Triggering Criminal Culpability) to "Extremely Careless" (Not So Triggering) And... More

And that's not all he did, either. Check out the second part of Mark Hemingway's tweet:

But wait, there's more:

Also note that the bulk of FBI agents who interviewed Michael Flynn found his answers credible:

This specific charge is surprising because, as a seasoned intelligence officer, Mr. Flynn had to know that the U.S. would be listening to Mr. Kislyak's conversations and have transcripts. CNN reported on Feb. 17 that "the FBI interviewers believed Flynn was cooperative and provided truthful answers," even though he first said sanctions were not discussed and later said he couldn't recall.

A Congressional source also tells us that former FBI director James Comey told the House Intelligence Committee on March 2 that his agents had concluded that Mr. Flynn hadn’t lied but had forgotten what had been discussed. Perhaps the FBI changed its view.

In possibly related news -- I have no idea if the IG even knew about Strzok -- the Inspector General has been investigating charges of politicization of the FBI for eleven months. I didn't know about this. I don't think many people did.

The twitter guy there, in the thread that follows, suggests that it's this IG investigation that prompted Mueller to reassign Strzok, though that is just speculation.

Personally, I expect a whitewash. The Deep State permanent government is the biggest Too Big Too Fail corrupt organization out there.

PS: Jack Straw has been writing about this in the comments all day. I missed those, because I'm under the weather and just putting up posts to fill time between naps.

I would have been okay with "Friggin Retarded", even though it also sidestepped the criminal aspect. It would have been worth it just for the lulz.

Somebody should tell Strzok that he can buy a vowel.

But we've all known that Barky weaponized every arm of the feral government he could and that the "Russia Collusion" farce was ridiculous from the start - from before the start, really.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at December 04, 2017 07:00 PM (8gDQu)

53 NGU, absolutely. Who knows, maybe we'll see some version of that. It could be getting to that point.

And I think it's unfortunate there's so much focus on Strzok's apparently politics. I don't care about those. Only care about actions. His - and Comey's and many others'.

Their *actions* are inexcusable, and in some cases probably criminal. Doubt it was Strzok's sole idea to 1) not record the Hillary interview 2) not have her under oath 3) contrary to normal practice, allow some co-conspirator/targets of the investigation to sit in as advisors or counsel. Ditto for all the other outrageous grants of immunity, de facto permission to destroy evidence, etc., that took place in the "investigation".

And yeah I've long since not confused many legal and "elite" law enforcement types with nuclear weapon designers, any more than I'd confuse journalists with seriously smart people, but give me a break - "careless" vs. whatever. The negligence standard under the statute was clearly met - it's kind of a simple black/white thing - and the violations were systematic, gross, and involved dozens of people. Whose actions were ipso facto crimes.

I recognize the country is dumbed down to the point of being unrecognizable, but we aren't all obligated to play along.

Look around you. Major organizations that everyone assumed a couple years ago were untouchable and thoroughly corrupt are falling like flies. Whether it's Hollywood or the media or sports or even politics, corruption is being exposed and deplorables are finally having their day.

Maybe a couple years ago this all would have been swept under the rug but the Democrats insistence on amping this Russia crap and #Resistance to a bazillion has created a tipping point. The center is not holding anymore.

Donnie 2 Scoops could hop on twitter and have probably a million descend on DC if the insiders try to bury this and I'm not being hyperbolic. People are angry at what they've always known but couldn't prove and now we have someone in the White House who is more than prepared to burn it, scatter it and salt it.

110 Doubt it was Strzok's sole idea to 1) not record the Hillary interview

I don't know if/when they changed SOP, but the FBI was infamous for refusing to record their interviews. In court the only "source of truth" for ages was the FEEB's handwritten notes. It made arguing against their conclusions in court that much harder.

The FBI has been a mess for ages. Remember the huge fiasco about their crime lab shortly after the OKC bombing? I'm sure many haven't heard about it or forgot it, but it was a huge clusterfuck when it happened. All sorts of evidence compromised. They're probably still hashing out the fallout in the court system due to wrongful convictions. God knows how much that cost taxpayers.

118 The more I learn about the Flynn "case", the more puzzled I am. By his plea, mostly, but also that Mueller would have the ballz to pursue it as a case. And also puzzled by his behavior, of course. If it's true the initial FBI take on it was "meh", which seems to track with the facts, why would Flynn cop a plea to something so thin it's almost invisible? Talk of "broken", protecting his son, $$$ - they just don't sound right. Such a stupid case could be fought - and it's a non-zero chance the Mueller operation will go poof before too long anyway.

136 It's all true.

I was the guy who investigated Hillary's email server.

I was the one who interviewed her on behalf of the FBI and concluded that she committed no crimes.

I suggested to Comey that he change the wording in his exoneration memo to clear her of any crimes.

I was the guy who examined Anthony Weiner's laptop in the days before the election and concluded Hillary's emails there were no problem.

I was the guy who took the Russian Pee Party Dossier paid for by Hillary and used it to open an FBI investigation of Trumpworld.

I was the one who interviewed General Flynn and concluded that he committed a felony in speaking with me.

I was hired by Mueller to lead the FBI investigation of Trump and his people by the Special Counsel.

And that's not all.

I was in Benghazi when someone helped the jihadis target their mortar fire on the roof of the CIA outpost.

I was in the bushes outside Sharyl Atkisson's house when her computer was mysteriously hacked by a government agent.

I was in the room adjoining Stephen Paddock when someone fired rounds at fuel tanks and a certain high-value target arriving at the airport.

I was around when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain.

I stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change.

I rode a tank in the general's rank when the blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank.

I shouted out, who killed the Kennedys, when after all, it was Cubans and me.

Pleased to meet you. Don't mispronounce my name, woo who.

186 It was from the start an investigation to find a victim.

It was worse than that. It was an investigation to find a crime. Not to dig into one, not to examine evidence of one. To just try to find a crime, to dig something up that they could then investigate. Like a secret police operation to destroy someone not justice at all.

The FBI has one function: investigate crimes. That's it. Not find crimes, not dig until they can maybe find something. The entire thing was a fishing expedition, something no credible police organization on earth should be doing.

Morning comes and the farmer goes out to his back 40. Comes back and tells his wife she was right a bus load of G-Men has crashed back there and that he will call the sheriff tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and the farmer calls the sheriff. Sheriff says he will be out the next afternoon. Next afternoon sheriff meets the farmer in the back 40. 195 The FBI has been a mess for ages.

My dad was at a technical discussion of the forensics of matching bullets to guns. The guy leading the discussion was a muckety muck at the FBI crime lab. Someone asked him about shotgun flechette rounds and if the lab had protocols surrounding them. The FBI guy didn't even know what they were.

After the questioner patiently explained them, dude bs-ed his way through, saying they were no different than any other round. Dad said everyone in the room was amazed at the obvious lie.

For those who don't know, a flechette never even comes in contact with the smooth shotgun bore, so it's nothing like a bullet that gets unique markings from grinding against a rifled barrel.

215 I wonder if this guy Strzok has figured out that he's going to be the patsy when Mueller folds his tent without finding anything of substance. It will go something like this:

"Oh, yeah, there was plenty there. And, we were this close to presenting evidence of collusion between the current administration and the Russians. But, our investigation was compromised by the actions of one of our lead investigators. As a result, we cannot in good conscience proceed with any recommendations of charges against DJT. "

It's murky enough for the Dems to make hay. And, it justifies his little witch hunt. Ask yourself this...why did Strzok's reassignment leak? They stonewalled the congressional committee....then all of sudden all these fact pop out just after getting some piddly plea agreement on telling a lie to the same guy that got reassigned.

He's the patsy now. He's Mueller's excuse for finding nothing...but claiming he could have if not for this guy.

Nowadays, it's not cheap and you have to wait 20 minutes for them to microwave up the burger.

Remember those commercials for McDonald's where they used to say how the guy got "change back for his dollar"? Too funny.

And also, I just found out that McD's won't do super-size stuff, anymore. WTF?? And they don't even fill up the normal fry packs, either. They used to stuff those puppies so full of fries you'd leave a trail of french fries for 3 blocks, at least.

316 195 The FBI has been a mess for ages.

Plain ol' $1 (or less) hamburger, plain. Nothing on it. No ketchup or any of that crap. But with onion SLICES, not the little tubular onion bits. You have to ask but they'll do it. Otherwise you get the manmade onions.

Add a pinch of salt to the patty.

Yum.

428 >>JackStraw, I mentioned digging this link up a few days ago:

You're link didn't work for me but if it is from WaPo I think I've seen it before. The whole claim has been bullshit from the get go, blacks are not targeted by law enforcement more than whites in any statistical meaningful way.

429 Whoever writes Tucker Carlson's opening monologues (Tucker himself?) is producing some very closely reasoned, common-sense factual arguments that would make a powerful impression on decent Americans.

As far as I'm concerned, Dunkin Donuts has great donuts and some of the best coffee around. I drink nothing but Dunkin Donuts ground coffee at home.

433 No, Israel has them. Israel owns them.

The Germans won't promise to give them back if the Palestinians make a claim on them while they're in Germany.

Good gravy.

Posted by: Bandersnatch at December 04, 2017 08:05 PM (fuK7c)

I guess Israel would have to make a fake hijacking and then Germany would give them back because "they had to". That was their deal with the Palis, after all.

Friggin Germans ...

434 weak bitter coffee is a sign that the establishment is cutting corners, trying to milk out as much black stuff as possible from too few beans.

There's really no place that doesn't do this that I know of outside of actual coffee shops and competent diners.

435 411:

"The assholes would do well to remember that there are more of us than there are of them.

Maybe a review of Nicolae Ceausescu's retirement from years of public service would be in order."

I don't know if you have interacted with mid-level DOJ/FBI, but the average attorney, agent or supervisor doesn't know who Ceausecscu is. They also are convinced the Surveillance State that's been erected will protect them once the torches get lighted. Their ignorance and stupidity are very dangerous, particularly given the current circumstances.

437 Does Dunkin Donuts even make donuts any more?

They never did. They always have been sugar crystals shaped into the form of a donut.

439 Peter Strzok sounds like the Jamie Gorelick of the FBI. A hyperpartisan bumblef-ck who is somehow involved in every "independent" investigation.

440 I was wondering whatever happened with the Jane Sanders loan fraud. It was obvious she lied on loan apps. FBI looking into, probably with Strzok in at the helm

442 This is a set up to make strzok and McCabe take the blame when ultimately it was James "Lordy" Comey who was in charge.

445 "442 This is a set up to make strzok and McCabe take the blame when ultimately it was James "Lordy" Comey who was in charge."

It was leaked, apparently from Team Mueller, for some reason. As someone who always has thought this farce primarily was to distract from major civil rights violations and other crimes committed by the Deep State during the campaign, this would seem to indicate Mueller and Co. thought someone had to go under the bus now.

Watch Nunes. He's going to take this to the edge, even though I no longer think the Deep State believes it can be held accountable (for good reason). I hope Nunes proves that wrong.

446 Strzok needs to be placed in protective custody, a marine brig comes to mind, just to keep him safe from getting the Clinton suicide disease.

Posted by: Garbone at December 04, 2017 09:41 PM (9dH/8)

447 23 Strzok's main defense while he was on the investigation was that no one could say his name.

448 huh. the FBI code of conduct includes:

An employee shall not engage in criminal, infamous, dishonest, immoral or disgraceful conduct ...

what about adultery? while not criminal, nor particularly infamous ... it can certainly be classified as dishonest and immoral.

so - why is this guy still with the FBI?
