========== because its been uniparty for decades. Trump isn't in uniparty. He's doing what he logically thinks is the right thing. Logic tends toward the conservative. Ergo a fairly conservative president. As long as he doesn't listen to the non logical people who are advising him (and you know who they are) he'll do a great job. Transformational in fact. He can't help but be transformation given the absolute trainwreck that Washington is now. The question is will it be enough. There's an article from months ago called "Killing the Gods of the City" that I linked a few times when people were freaking out. It's bottom line - it is gonna be really messy & crazy.
People do not relinquish power easily. But there are so many moving parts right now, some that have affected politics that people did not see coming, and they were blind-sided by it. Like the avalanche of sexual assualts cases committed by mostly democratic men in elite positions. That was done by the people for the people. Decades of cover ups exposed by Ronan Farrow was the beginning. Networks and other dems all over the place knew about this stuff and did nothing. Anyway, that has done more to injure them than anything politics could throw...b/c it wasn't political. And that is why it is so harmful. But there are so many moving parts right now in the country, and now we can add another based on the tweets. And there are more that we have no idea about. Before I forget, thank you to those who pray about this country. There are supernatural forces at work I do not understand, but believe in. And when something goes well, or evil is exposed, they do not get enough credit for their role. Posted by: Gumdrop Gorilla is fan of Professor Chaos at November 22, 2017 03:03 PM (St5qb) 132

On the Roy Moore saga, I just read that Breitbart piece on the Leigh Corfman accusation. She is the one who claims she and her mother met Moore at the courthouse in 1979 when she was 14, and he subsequently asked her out and felt her up.
The Breitbart reporter went through the court records and reported that the custody hearing was on Feb. 21, and that Corfman was supposed to move out of her mother's house and into her father's house in something like 10 days, which the reporter pointed out didn't give Moore much time for the phone calls and the two dates and whatnot that Corfman says Moore did. But what's curious about that story is that court documents show that the parents had agreed to the custody switch, apparently because Leigh Corfman had been a behavioral problem at the mother's house and the parents thought she'd settle down if she went to live with the father. The article said both parents signed the consent decree switching custody over to the father. Given that both parents wanted the custody switch and it was being done by consent of both parents, there couldn't have been much to the custody hearing. So why then did Corfman's mother agree to let Roy Moore babysit her daughter in the courthouse hallway? Corfman said that her mother didn't want her to come into the hearing room with her because she didn't want her daughter to hear the acrimonious testimony -- but there is unlikely to have been any testimony that would have upset Corfman, given that both parents wanted the custody switch to happen and the hearing was probably just a pro forma rubber-stamping of the agreement. So that part of Corfman's story really doesn't make sense. Also, Corfman claims that the Roy Moore fondling incident was the start of all her behavioral problems. But that is clearly not true, as the custody documents indicate that she was already having behavioral problems before she even met Moore at the custody hearing, which is why the parents were switching custody in the first place. So why is Corfman lying about that? Posted by: TrivialPursuer at November 22, 2017 03:07 PM (fqUgw) 139

Is this still a fight against the dark side? Or are we replacing one set of "betters" for another? Shall we rely upon what the next crew says, more than what the old crew said? Nah. They all are obviously jockeying for position in the "new" pecking order. Maybe anarchy IS the fate.

Posted by: Meremortal, no prosecutions, no peace! at November 22, 2017 03:19 PM (3myMJ) This is Duvernay, a Devonian shale. Around here, the depth is given as 2000 to 2500 meters, so 6400 to 7200 feet. Which is a deep play around here. I guess the big question is how much of the "oil" content is liquid, and how much is kerogn, which is an immobile solid hydrocarbon?
