Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Court Documents: Fusion GPS Made Payments To Three Journalists From 2016 to 2017If you're going to work for the left anyway, you might as well get paid, right? The revelation could be a breakthrough for House Republicans, who are exploring whether Fusion GPS used the dossier, which was later criticized for having inaccurate information on Trump, to feed anti-Trump stories to the press during and after the presidential campaign. The three journalists who were paid by Fusion GPS are known to have reported on "Russia issues relevant to [the committee's] investigation," the House Intelligence Committee said in a court filing. But the recipients' names, the amounts, and purposes of those payments were either redacted from the documents that Fusion GPS filed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia or were not disclosed. Fusion has asked the court to issue a restraining order against the House committee, which is demanding documents from the company that, among other things, explain the payments it made to reporters. Most of the documents sought are banking records. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

I know it is fun to pick on Fusion GPS and the left for such things we suspected they do - plant stories, quid pro quo - but we should also rightfully suspect that the uniparty GOPe is doing the same, as against their insurgents, the Tea Party, Trumpkins, etc.
The attempted Moore takeout has all the hallmarks of a GOPe clusterfuck as much as dem fingerprints. There was some recent story by a friendly to GOPe outlet that had the AL primary loser attempting to distance and absolve himself of any wrongdoing. And we all know the details about the Jeb!/Rubio operatives shopping pussygate before it was released. I suspect the reason that Lerner is not rotting in a cell is because the GOPe was complicit. 35...The attempted Moore takeout has all the hallmarks of a GOPe clusterfuck as much as dem fingerprints.

"Inaccurate information."
Aka lies. Each of which sprung from a singular mind. When something real is investigated the investigation will spread out to multiple sources each having direct knowledge of the event being looked at. A lie will funnel back to a singular source. Whoever made up the lies that became the Steele dossier funneled them through Steele who said he had sources A to E for the information. He also said he paid no money to them for this information. http://tinyurl.com/y8ww9llk Maybe the Russians gave false information to Steele who then did no footwork to try to verify it but accepted it at face value. Maybe, as is my own view, Steele was only used and paid to be the credible face of false stories written by others who wanted them planted in the media and in the Obama DOJ and IC. That Steele was "ex" MI6 and that that agency could unmask any US person themselves from the same data pool that the US IC has but can't legally get at without a FISA okay is just a coincidence. Fusion's whole existence is based on taking innocuous real things and mixing them with pernicious lies that tell the story their clients want told and then getting those stories fed into the MSM in someway that makes them look credible, believable. That's what was done with the "stories" that form the dossier. Posted by: geoffb at November 22, 2017 01:09 PM (zOpu5) 158

I've been thinking, and sometimes saying, that reporters have been committing some type of fraud. If it can be shown they received payment from a third party to plant stories I think it may be possible to show that they defrauded their customers and a class action lawsuit may be possible for recovery of damages.

The congressional committee should simply start to subpoena journalists, starting with some unlikely suspects, put them under oath, and ask if they received these payments from Fusion GPS, or know who did, and remind that perjury is a criminal offense. Gradually work up to the probable recipients, if they haven't outed themselves by then.

Near-fatal, violent attacks on GOP legislators by crazed fascist/racist, er, "prog" crazies. Tsunami of scandals afflicting/felling dozens of high-profile Dem/prog donors and mouthpieces, and "journalists". Insh'allah, names of several prominent Dem incumbents aside from Conyers implicated in abuse/settlement scandal. Key Trump agenda items that are most popular, unaddressed, hobbled, or otherwise not implemented due to Dem obstructionism (um, a distortion, but it could be made right by including references to GOP trash like McCain, Collins, et al.). Saturate the few competitive districts, and most of the Senate races, with versions of this stuff. Obvious. Any bets on whether the RNC, the NRSC, or the HRCC will do anything remotely like this?
