Lena Dunham: Life...You Know...Okay? I Can't Even...it Like, Comes at You Fast...Does That Make Sense? (MJ)

Live by the tampon, die by the...ug, its just too gross. I can't even.

Lena Dunham has apologized for comments she made supporting Girls writer Murray Miller, who has been accused of sexually assaulting actress Aurora Perrineau.

On Friday, after the claims against Miller were made public, Dunham took to Twitter to support Miller on behalf of herself and Girls executive producer Jenni Konner, saying, "We believe, having worked closely with [Miller] for more than half a decade, that this is the case with Murray Miller. While our first instinct is to listen to every woman's story, our insider knowledge of Murray's situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3 percent of assault cases that are misreported every year."

Dunham was criticized widely for her statement.

On Saturday, she released an apology on Twitter, saying "I naively believed it was important to share my perspective on my friend's situation as it has transpired behind the scenes over the last few months. I now understand that it was absolutely the wrong time to come forward with such a statement and I am so sorry."

I feel like I keep saying the same things over and over again. These people...the self appointed culture leaders... are not bright. They can't even keep their own rules straight.

And one more thing: Lena Dunham and her millennial generation hipster idiots simply stole and updated the valley girl/Clueless schtick from the 80s and 90s. The awkward phrasing and the lilting upturn toward a question at the end of ever sentence; it's all been done before.

Hardest hit: Cher and Dionne. Ugh, as if!

Totally hardest hit: Jane Austen. It is a truth universally acknowledged that life, in possession of great irony, presents itself speedily.

15 So, a child molester was being defended by Lena, an admitted child molester. So now Lena, who molested her own sister and bragged about it while also making up a rape accusation against an innnocent man due to him being conservative, is re-thinking defending her friend who is being accused of abusing a child.

And this is why I do not like anything on TV.

What is her future? She is not attractive, not talented and not very smart.

Obscurity. Coming soon.

In 30 years, she will be the answer to a trivia question, and otherwise forgotten.
There's a plethora of young actors from the 80's and 90's who just.....disappeared. They almost always do.

Only the most talented, good looking or most depraved actually get ahead in the entertainment business and stay "popular", ie, keep getting work.

Kinda sorta. I doubt it's dropping bigly week after week like some claim, but yeah, there are plenty of stadiums throughout the league that have been, quite obviously, not selling out.

I have noticed a shift in some of the sports radio talking heads though.

First couple of weeks after Trump started his fight with the league, all of the pundits, and I mean all, kept saying TV ratings were holding steady and the anthem protests had ZERO to do with it.

Last week, the talking point had changed. Big city TV ratings were holding steady, but the smaller (redder market) cities had significant drops. Some pundits were hedging their denials, while others just stopped talking about TV ratings entirely.

180 @162: "I thought Yahoo keeps saying the ratings are up and all is well?"

Total rating across the country is down a little bit, but not enough to panic all the NFL owners yet.

It's more complicated when you start looking at state-by-state and city-by-city numbers though. Redder parts of the country are tuning out. Significant drops in large geographic areas of the country.

Question is whether that's a one year blip or the beginning of a long term trend.

You should be able to detect a bent shaft by manually rotating and watching chain tension. Ideally, the chain should have some slack, with a tensioner on the slack side. It sounds as though the the load(s) are intermittently causing a resonance in all of the elastic bits.

341 Ben Had, it sounds like the chain and sprocket is what is failing on you.

Check your sprockets for wear, and make sure the chain is correct for your sprockets.
You may want to check the chain is rated for the load you put on it, it might be stretching.

You may want to go talk to a motorcycle mechanic about what the problem is and what he has done to resolve it.

And no, I'm just spitballing.

342 @285 Holy loly, if you'd have come up to me on the street back then and said that a college course about Buffy the Vampire Slayer would be looked back on from TYOOL 2017 as the good old days of academic rigor and I would have screamed "STRANGER DANGER" and run to find a grown-up.
--------------------

At least it was art, after a fashion. I once read an article by a guy who taught a college course about playing Starcraft.

Though in fairness, I'm not sure that the class was worth any credits.

360 concrete girl, for stalls. When you mix with shavings you can't even tell its there but it will draw all moisture out of a pee spot on one day, and you know how important that is. It also biodegrades in the pasture at 4 times the rate of shavings. It also has an added cush factor . I managed to make enough to give a sample to a farm that had a horse in the Kentucky Derby and they loved it but I could not supply them.

That could be the problem. Your shaft is torqued. You need to drive both sides, or use a thicker shaft. Option 1 is mechanically more complicated, option 2 is a heavier machine.

376 What I meant is bearings on each side of the gear, so at least 3 bearings per shaft, 2 along side both sides of the gear. There is no way for the shaft to bend or flex while running using that configuration.

If the entire shaft is flexing while under load that's not good and a tensioner is not the fix.

It might be the chain run is too long for the torque being transmitted, and torsional vibration in the cutter shaft is reflecting back as whip in the chain. Just a WAG. Briggs and Stratton used to make an "IC" line of industrial-grade engines, and many were equipped with a planetary reduction gear of about 4:1. Perhaps such an engine could be direct-couple to your shredder with a flex coupling? Another approach might be hydraulic drive.

Posted by: freqked at November 19, 2017 08:50 PM (UdKB7)

If the shaft is bent because it was made too slender, and bent from the wedging action of paper packing between the blades, driving it from both ends won't solve that problem. If the cutting action is a shear, then very stiff shafts are needed, because shearing demands very tight clearances between opposing blades.

411 1.) Judge Moore's accuser had decades to mention this, including previous races and national controversies. But not a peep by anyone, ever--until now. This is unlike, say, Bill Clinton, whose infidelities were commonly discussed.

2.) Unlike Sen. Al Franken's case, there is absolutely no proof. The only "corroboration" is a blatant forgery.

3.) The Media keeps conflating the accuser with women who say Moore was a complete gentleman.

4.) Like Roy Moore, Sen. Dick Blumenthal also dated his wife as a teenager. Both Moore and Blumenthal are still married to those women today. Judging from the Moores' happy marriage, you'd have to say Judge Moore made the right call.

Both Moore and Blumenthal were older Democrat prosecutors, yet you don't hear calls for Blumenthal to resign, do you?

The only difference: Judge Moore changed parties. And stood up for the Actual Constitution.

5.) Not only did these accusers and their sponsors wait through decades, and election after election and national controversy after controversy to tell this fairy tale, they waited until after the primary. Why not talk before the primary when voters could have chosen another Republican? And even after the primary was over, they waited until the deadline for changing candidates had passed.

This is all politics and nothing else.

Except for one other thing; I think this was meant to bootstrap a 40 year-old fraudulent claim into a defeat for Judge Moore and then bootstrap that into the Impeachment of President Trump.

That's why Democrats are trying desperately to throw Bill Clinton and Al Franken overboard. They're screwing up the Narrative.

But, then, that's what happens to liars.

Will it go further once white liberals are driven out of the movement? Someone posted a statistic the other day that most black women had been abused by the time they were 18. Will black feminists turn on black men? Will black activists turn against hispanic activists or vice versa? Will anyone stand up to the Muslims?

Now where was I? Oh yeah. Shelbyville! We didn't call it Shelbyville for the longest time, on account of them Shelbyvillians stealing our lemon tree. Only we didn't call them lemons back then either, we called them yellow onions. "Pour me a nice tall glass of yellow-onion-ade," you'd say.

1. What is the shaft diameter?

2. How long (in inches) are the shafts?

3.. What is the longest span (in inches) between bearings along the shaft?

4. Does the drive chain appear to be closer in size to a) "bicycle chain", or b) "motorcycle chain"?

5. Are the sprockets driving the end of a given shaft, or driving the center of the shaft?

* AOP's suggesting of a hydraulic drive is possible genius. That really dampens a hell of a lot of harmonic feedback from resonating throughout the system.

* Hoof nippers are neatly welded back to dimension, ground down to contour, and await only sharpening and polishing. I think you'll like the result.

Weinstein was a Dem bundler, which means he went out and put the arm on people in Hollywood to pay money to the campaign. You know, give me money and not only will the millennium come, but you will get funding for your next production if you play nice, sort of bundling.

My suspicion is that his accusation is revenge from someone who spent money he didn't have to lose to Trump anyways, and when he complained he got told to shut up or never work again.

You're gonna want to upgrade those sprockets n' chain to at least a 420 size, and better to go with a 520 chain. Might as well upgrade to the "O-Ring" variant, for better weather endurance & less wear from grit working inside the chain pieces.

Bicycle chain is wholly inadequate to the task you've assigned for this machine.

And yes, a chain tensioner on the slack side of the driveline is an absolute must.

As for the nippers. We'll have to compare notes and outcomes!

568 @483: "Between the Clintons and Obama's OFA outfit, too much money has been pulled away. They need to stanch the money flow too."

There's a low-level civil war right now in the Democratic Party between their establishment and populist wing; funny how a few wins in New Jersey and Virginia can simmer things down.

The 2016 surge in small donations from the Bernie crowd hasn't gone anywhere, and will be expanded in 2018, and there's plenty of establishment money from former Obama and Clinton backers who won't support the Clintons any longer.

The problem? Neither side will be able to paper over the party schism if Hillary runs again. It would become an all out war.

The smart people in their party know it'd be a nasty, self-destructive affair, and likely fatal come the general election in 2020, so they're trying to muscle Hillary and Bill out sooner than later.

Gotta make room for a populist who can be co-opted by the establishment or an establishment figure who can be stomached by the radicals.

20 thicknesses?

That's a 2 in. shaft, and a 3 hp, 220 v. three-phase motor with a reduction gear, just to power through that kind of load.

The sideplates which form the structure and carry the shafts damn well better be 1/4" thick, high-tensile steel. And 5/16" would be a skosh better.

This machine sounds like a beautifully designed, but sadly under-spec'ed bit of mechanical engineering.

I'd also really like to see what the blade system looks like, given that they're charging $5k for the set.

"Rhapsody in Blue" is THE American Symphony.

That meaning the entire work and album, and not just the titular track.

Needs a proper, powerful and very accurate stereo, at an adequately driven volume, if not a live performance faithful to the original score for it to be truly appreciated.

It's a good excuse to keep a large, permanent crock pot going through the winter, as you keep topping it off with more red wine, apple cider, orange juice, brandy, spices, citrus peels, etc., adjusting proportions as you go along; occasionally straining and filtering.

Berstien's version was and is definitive, epic, powerful, delicate and deeply evocative and moving.

I can't recall if it was released on RCA or Columbia, but it was one of the early High-Fidelity Stereo LPs that really could convey the sound quality so as to make the difference.

IF, that is, it was played on good enough equipment, not always found in the average American home of the era.

Do a Wiki-wander of Rhapsody in Blue. You won't be wasting your time.
