7 The RNCe is looking at a compromise bill to sell out on DACA for a couple of sweeteners for conservatives. The sweeteners are yet another 'promise' to actually enforce the law. Haven't Republicans learned yet? Or is it that they simply want to sell out? We have heard these kinds of promises before on amnesty AND crap like Motor Voter. The Democrats always renege after they get what they want and the Republicans always go along to get along.

Now New Kensington and other towns in the area are left with the old who can't afford to move, broken welfare families, criminals, drug addicts. Its sad. So true. And it's very important to seriously investigate them before putting a loved one in their care. A good source for unbiased information would be your local rescue squad. They are called to these homes frequently and have some very good inside info. Ask them which place they would send their own parent.

There are lots of dedicated nursing home workers and some excellent nursing homes too. But there are some horrible ones.

I'm pretty familiar with a nursing home/assisted living entity. They'd be lucky if turnover was 'only' 100% per year. Huge problem with replacing people. New applicants, once selected, usually don't pass drug screening and if they do pass, many only work one shift before quitting.

Morning, kids. This goes hand in hand with the lead right now at PJ Media about the surge of socialist candidates since the last election.

I think we are seeing the morphing of the Democrat party into a bust-out, freak flag flying, openly Commie party, as elements of the actual Communist, Socialist, Working Families, Green, et al merge with it.

It would be helpful of the GOP can die off and have the Conservative party take over the infrastructure. Unfortunately, the big money interests of the CoC is holding onto power for all its worth. It neither is aware nor cares that the other side, if given the chance, will crush whatever is left of the free enterprise system and destroy private property, businesses and capital.

War is coming, if it ain't here already. Happy Sunday!

86 53,
" Saw another massive Hillary! lie on tv yesterday from Arkansas, where
she lied that, had Raper Bill's last budget been maintained, the USA
debt would have been paid off."

Billy Jeff, "the raper man" had the economy of Obama for his first two years. That is what he wanted and would have had if Gingrich hadn't wrested control of the House from the Democrat death grip. He was "investing" our "contributions" so well.

"His" last budget, that she speaks with forked tongue about, was like a family that gets an inheritance one year and then says, "If we can get one every year we'll be in the black in 25 years." That budget was an Internet bubble driven exception. Even with 9/11 GWB did better over his term for the real economy than either WJC or JEF but that's not saying much.

"It would be helpful of the GOP can die off and have the Conservative
party take over the infrastructure. Unfortunately, the big money
interests of the CoC is holding onto power for all its worth. It neither
is aware nor cares that the other side, if given the chance, will crush
whatever is left of the free enterprise system and destroy private
property, businesses and capital.

War is coming, if it ain't here already. Happy Sunday!"

CoC figures that some form of fascism is what the Commie-Dems will actually put in place and their spice money will flow just fine. Conservatives liking free enterprise helps those little companies grow and kill the big boys as that is the natural order of economics. The CoC wants an economic caste system that freezes the present order in place, by law, forever. Stasis is their goal.

95 Franken is a "darling" of the progressives. Considered charming and funny by the true believers, taking him out would be a big blow. The progressive/socialist competition's willingness to scuttle him so fast among other professional progressives show they really don't like him, he takes too much attention off of them, and is a policy dolt. Ellison is a dumb black guy from a family of scammers. He can't even outwit Perez who is another dolt and diversity figurehead. So Ellison is safe vote, a dolt, diversity!, and no competition of any seriousness to the Gillebrand, Bernie, etc of that ilk. Franken is a liability as of now.

My car was on his right as he approached, and he hit me in the right rear. The hatch is also pushed in on that side.

The damage to his car was on the left front fender. Draw a picture.

The impact pushed my left front wheel over a concrete parking block, so it needs a front end alignment at a minimum. I'm also concerned about the steering linkage. I was able to drive it home, though. The insurance adjuster will come out on Monday to look at it.

Most Underrated: Polk. Heh. Pretty much all current Puerto Ricans are descended from a combination of Spanish sailors, black slaves, and a few boatloads of pirates that retired there. When Columbus arrived, the island was populated by the Taino tribes. The Spaniards enslaved them and attempted to make them work the fields for them, but the Taino weren't physically strong enough to stand up to either the harsh treatment or the diseases the spaniards brought with them. From a population of tens of thousands, by 1548 there were only 500 Taino left alive on the island.

162 The sad tale of Puerto Rico's original inhabitants brings up the entire reason that black Africans were brought to the New World. The Spaniards originally thought it would be much easier to enslave the local peoples and make them work, but they couldn't take it physically and the Spaniards ended up killing off any who couldn't escape into the hills somewhere and hide. From their experience on the coast of Africa, which they had been exploiting for some time, they realized that the sub saharan Africans were the only people who were both impervious to the heat of the tropics and physically powerful enough to survive Spanish "management" methods.

And that's how the whole mess got started.

163 This overrated underrated presidents thing has reminded me of one of my favorite blog posts: "Of all the Presidents, who would win in a mass knife fight to the death" ( assuming them to be in their prime of their Presidential lives and all in one place in an arena ~ a la that Star Trek episode):

167 Nixon was the man, until he wasn't. I like how anti-communist he was, and it's a shame he didn't win in 1960 -- made worse that Kennedy was the winner. Al Gore had an opportunity to learn how to lose gracefully as the first step to a political comeback.

But as president, Nixon's wage and price controls were beyond stupid. Ford fixed that.

171 Here in the West Chester, PA area there was a huge fire at an assisted living facility, two days ago. It's totally destroyed. Anyway, the local 'other' facilities in the area are being asked to place some of these folks but many of the better ones don't accept medicaid at all.

Yes, it's a good question to ask.

I was Ubering the drunk West Chester students in the rain last night. Then scores a surge price 20 mile ride to Coateville for a sweet $97. Too bad that took me away from home in Concord Pa.

Oh and btw ~ my vote for which President wins in a mass knife fight to the death? Andrew Jackson. The man beat a would be assassin a third of his age half to death when he was, like, 80. He was one mean sunuvabitch. Last president killed by Jackson to win? Lincoln. Top 4? Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Zachary Taylor (the "Dark horse" pick). Honorable mention: Washington, Grant, Eisenhower.

184 Underrated President: James Polk, the 11th President:

Polk met every major domestic and foreign policy goal set during his campaign. He reached a settlement with the UK over the disputed Oregon Country, which divided the territory along the 49th parallel. He won the Mexican-American War, which gave us most of the Southwest. (We are now giving it back to Mexico.) He reduced tarriff rates, established the Independent Treasury System, oversaw the opening of the US Naval Academy and the Smithsonian, the groundbreaking for the Washington Monument, and the issuing of the first US postage stamp.

Lastly, he kept his campaign pledge to serve only one term. He died 3 months after leaving office.

Pretty damn good for a one-term president.

They don't make Democrats like Polk any more.

________

That's it right there.

After Watergate, the 1976 election shouldn't have been a contest, but Ford made it a nail-biter.

Also: Had Ford won in '76, his partial term was too long to make him eligible for re-election in '80. As unlikely as it may seem now, I see Reagan succeeding him for at least one term, probably two. Fourteen years of Ford-Reagan would've set the American Left back by 50 years.

Posted by: Kreplach

Boom Time Economics
.
.
.Coupled with tremendous surpluses in Social Security and Medicare. But there really was never a surplus in the true sense due to the fact that even then we were on the path for unprecedented unfunded future liabilities. We just acted like we had a surplus.

I can remember conversations saying how it would be a terrible thing for the US to have no debt and annual budget surpluses. Good times.

188 we again have inflation, but it is mostly seen in money supply. "Monetary inflation" today was the Webster definition in 1984. Today's "inflation" is what used to be "price inflation". (I think perhaps "they" don't want us to realize how they got rich by creating money out of thin air, while burying US under mountains of debt. (our kids should just say NO)
https://inflationdata.com/articles/2010/07/21/real-definition-inflation/

The concern (for me) is that massive monetary inflation has occurred in manipulated fashion, and not just by our private bankers (federal reserve) but by the international banks and stock and bond markets, not to mention the quadrillion in (still unregulated?) derivatives markets that we again, in the end, underwrite by selling our children.

Out of thin air and without much in profits, a handful of young internet FANGed liberals became the richest boyz in the world, and set about manipulating the world via censorship and wormhole algorithms. And those billionaires are small compared to the leveraged up shadowy billionaires around the world, who own the levers of power via their globalists in government bureaucracies.

But despite (because of?) all those market riches in the hands of the oligarchs, more than half of Americans can't come up with $500 for an emergency without selling a child, and government debt skyrockets. (and we have the most liberty) Billionaire power is inflated while liberty is under assault ... which is the plan, it would seem.

keep your guns, don't go wobbly
