Media Actually Rushing to Al Franken's Defense

ABC News' alleged "proud independent" (who just happens to favor liberal policy positions and liberal narratives) Chief Political Analyst:

He's actually praising Franken's "I molested her as a joke and I don't recall having jammed my tongue down her throat (though I'm not denying that, exactly)" defense:

Note Franken's defense is that his groping was a "joke." Also note Franken only admitted that which cannot be denied, as there is photographic proof of it.

His accuser also says Franken contrived a "sketch" where he'd get to kiss her and would not take no for an answer as far as a real kiss. Eventually, she says, he forcibly jammed his tongue down her throat, which isn't even done in "Hollywood kisses" (where the actors just open their mouths and move them around a bit, tongues tucked will inside their own mouths).

"This is a statement of a man"? No, Matthew J. Dowd. This is the statement of a cornered fellow progressive you are trying to praise for having forcibly tongue-kissed and then groped.

And by the way, don't overlookd that "forcible tongue kiss" thing. A tongue kiss is not "just a kiss" the way other kisses are. Especially when the woman has repeatedly told you she's not even interested in doing a stage (fake) kiss or a mere peck on the lips.

Kissing does not have to be sexual and I'd generally call it a very low level of "Harassment," if harassment at all. But a tongue kiss is penetrative and definitely sexual.

Kids call it first base. Or they did when I was a kid.

Don't forget, prostitutes will let you have sex with them but generally forbid kissing. Because there's a level of intimacy there they just find a little too intimate.

And they're generally permitting strangers to have sex with them.

Does anyone think this "man" would have admitted the undeniable if there was no photographic proof of it?

CNN's Gloria Borger, allegedly an objective analyst, but as progressive and Democrat as Al Franken's hands are grabby and his tongue is pushy:

NBC's "reporter" Kasie Hunt:

They're doing their all to minimize this and even praise Franken for it.

Coming soon: Nina Burleigh offers a blowjob to Al Franken for his heroic efforts in stopping molestation in the military, at least when he's not molesting women while on military transport planes.

But.

But I highly doubt that it will be and so long as everyone is out there demanding that Moore be shunned from public life for that which he denies and without anything more than allegations to the contrary, then, as I stated previously, I'm going to shove the New Rules back down their throat twice as hard.

I do not want this game. This game is a stupid game. This game is a very dangerous game. But since I'm being forced to play it, then I will damn well win.

127 Don't forget, prostitutes will let you have sex with them but generally forbid kissing. Because there's a level of intimacy there they just find a little too intimate.

Little-known but fascinating trivia about ancient Rome:

The MOST taboo sexual act back then was touching boobs. Temple prostitutes would fuck you all day long, but never allow you to touch (or even see) their boobs. Even wives would generally only have sex with their husbands while wearing a tube-top-style boob cover.

Kissing was also more taboo that genital intercourse, but never was more off-limits than groping tit -- what Al Franken did.

But I highly doubt that it will be and so long as everyone is out
there demanding that Moore be shunned from public life for that which he
denies and without anything more than allegations to the contrary,
then, as I stated previously, I'm going to shove the New Rules back down
their throat twice as hard.

I do not want this game. This game is a stupid game. This game is a
very dangerous game. But since I'm being forced to play it, then I
will damn well win.
.
.
.Big difference between what franken admitted and what Moore is being accused of.

With the exception of one accuser who's story is rapidly falling apart and even her own lawyer won't go on record to defend the authenticity of the only single piece of evidence in existence, and her stepson is calling her a liar, no one has accused Moore of an illegal act. Pretty much all he has been *accused* of is legal behavior no matter what people think about it. And I hate using the *accused* word but that is how it is being reported in the media.

Moore did nothing against the law with every woman who has come forward so far with that one exception which he denies ever took place. franken admitted to an illegal act that carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison in DC where the trial would take place. Huge difference.

Yeah, this was pretty much my first thought as well. But libtards gotta libtard - and since the MSM is filled-to-bursting with them I've basically had to stop watching the news.

To summarize:

Photographic proof that a Democrat Senator groped an unwilling woman 10-11 years ago? Not relevant to the job of being a Senator.

Charges, arrest and trial (and mistrial, because some genius thought it would be a good idea to host this all the a D-centric sewer) of a sitting Democrat Senator for bribery and corruption, which was clearly proven during said trial? Not relevant to the job of being a Senator.

Accusations that you may have engaged in less than gentlemanly conduct 35-years ago (yeah, I'm not buying the 14-year old or Suzie Yearbook's stories, at all)? Disqualifying for the job of being a Senator.

Because the first two are (D) and the third is (R).

Burn. Scatter. Salt.

189 Little-known but fascinating trivia about ancient Rome:

The MOST taboo sexual act back then was touching boobs. Temple prostitutes would fuck you all day long, but never allow you to touch (or even see) their boobs. Even wives would generally only have sex with their husbands while wearing a tube-top-style boob cover.

Kissing was also more taboo that genital intercourse, but never was more off-limits than groping tit -- what Al Franken did.

And 10 year old claims that a now sitting Senator groped and attacked a woman, backed up by actual pictures of him ACTUALLY groping her while she's asleep/unconscious = "A-OK - nothing to see here. Trump still has sway in Alabama and he could use his bully pulpit to keep that seat Republican but not let Moore into the Senate.

Shapiro is kind of lukewarm on Trump. He likes some things, dislikes others. He's very specific about which actions fall into which category, too.

I suspect the bone of contention here is that Shapiro believes Moore's accusers and he doesn't believe such a person as Moore should be a Senator. If you believe Moore was set up, then I can see why you would think that Shapiro has gone off the deep end.

The morning that the Roy Moore stuff broke, I looked up some articles on the Keller case in Texas to provide a link to someone and I don't quite remember why. I ended up reading several and it was even worse than I remembered. (The Kellers were a couple who were sent to prison for Satanic ritual abuse and it took 25 years to get them out).

I was already getting very concerned that we were headed into another moral panic like the Satanic ritual abuse panic and then the Roy Moore accusations hit and I sat there and watched, stunned, as I saw in real time people falling all over themselves to decree that it must be true. Again, for the umpteenth time, I am open to the possibility that he did of which he has been accused, I am just very wary of simply saying oh it must be true.

I don't know how to break this fever absent someone making a demonstrably false charge. I do know that it took decades upon decades for the Satanic ritual abuse cases to be looked back upon with horror and there are still officers and DAs involved in the prosecutions who insist they did nothing wrong.

Hysterias happen constantly throughout human history. I despair we are in another now.

256 That is why I think we need to be consistent and whenever this kind of thing comes out, be skeptical and doubtful unless the aggressor admits something or goes into "sex rehab." If they say "that's a bunch of crap" I'll tend to believe them without any other evidence available.

For example, George Takei: no evidence, total denial, story is a bit odd. OK George probably didn't do what he's accused of, unless some more evidence comes out supporting the guy's story.

257 Shapiro is kind of lukewarm on Trump. He likes some things, dislikes others. He's very specific about which actions fall into which category, too.

He's very solid nevertrumper who once in a while admits he agrees with something Trump does. There's no luke warm about it. He leaps on anything that makes Trump look bad, no matter how rational or accurate, and reluctantly mentions something good with a sort of "can you believe it??" tone.

I like Shaprio but he's a bit of a fool with President Trump. I understand to one degree: the man's past and some of his campaign statements are pretty awful. He says stuff that's lousy or foolish sometimes still.

But he does the right stuff. His actions are very good and laudable so far. And I'll take a crap talking good worker every time.

If you're of the X level of political expertise, which many here are, you remain silent in the beginning. Because there's this little nagging voice in the back of the brain that is processing, but it hits a glitch and stops. Something doesn't fit.

More evidence arrives, and the part that doesn't fit begins to make sense.

I will admit to 34/10000th of a second of belief when Bill Clinton pointed his finger at me and claimed to 'not have sexual relations with *that* woman'. He actually 'got me' for that length of time.

Then my brain kicked in and I knew he was a lying piece of shit.

I still have no dog in the hunt vis-a-vis Moore, but I'm curious as to what the relation of the woman saying this to/about Moore.

If it's a fan or a public supporter, what difference does that possibly make? Clinton has lots of female fans. I knew one in particular in an online game I played years ago that would fly into a rage if someone badmouthed Clinton. o_O It was reallly something else.

Anyhow, Clinton has his female fans and supporters... and that makes no difference at all to the facts of what he did, so why would a woman - heck, any woman, related or not - supporting Moore be particularly galling or an efficient defense? Bill Cosby's wife defended him pretty vociferously for a while there, as well - didn't make a lick of difference at the end.

Again, I care not one way or another about Moore, I am merely pointing out that many bad men have been defended by women, past and present. It seems kinda irrelevant, doesn't it?

The problem right now is that it's part hysteria and part truth. A lot of morally devoid people and their enablers have been getting away with a lot of abuse for a long time. So, I don't doubt that Weinstein and some of the other reprobates did at least some of that which they are accused. Now though with the dry wood of SJW nuttery on sexual matters, the hot winds of social media, and a political class running through with burning torches, it's reached the hysteria stage. The political class things they can start a little fire here or there to remove their opponents. Suddenly though they are beginning to get burned.

425 He's very solid nevertrumper who once in a while admits he agrees with something Trump does.

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 16, 2017 03:31 PM (39g3+)

I disagree with this analysis. In just the past few days, Shapiro has praised Trump's response to the gotcha gun control question, his speech about standing up to North Korea, his continuing destruction of the regulatory environment left by Obama and the overall success of Trump's recent trip to the Pacific. While not specifically about Trump, he's ranted about the media for both Fishgate and Waterbottlegate and the random "this only happens in the age of Trump" stuff that flies around. If Shapiro was such an ardent NeverTrumper, he wouldn't be promoting the idea that Trump interceding in the Moore election was the best path forward.

I will say that Shapiro wishes Trump would stop tweeting. He also firmly believes that Trump's cabinet picks are pretty good and they should be left alone because when Trump gets involved, he makes life harder for them. Shapiro was NeverTrump (so was I) but he wisely has moved to "this is who we have, let's work with it".

IMHO, your description is probably closer to Jonah Goldberg. Whom I enjoy. But I don't think he's able to put aside his opinion of Trump at all.

As someone who spends a crapton of money on makeup so as to look like I'm not wearing any at all, the current "smokey eye" trend has got to go. It's difficult to pull off without looking like you have been punched in the eye and it's not for every day wear. It's a party look.

Then there's the wearing false eyelashes all the time. STOP IT. STOP IT. No, it doesn't make your eyes stand out, it makes people go "hey, she's wearing false eyelashes". Again, it's a party look, not every day.

Then there's doing hard core contouring (and doing it badly) before going to work. Stop. It. Stop it stop it stop it.

432 Zombie:
The MOST taboo sexual act back then was touching boobs. Temple prostitutes would fuck you all day long, but never allow you to touch (or even see) their boobs. Even wives would generally only have sex with their husbands while wearing a tube-top-style boob cover.

Not so sure about that. I checked the Pompeii brothel frescoes, and, yeah, from the ones where they're visible, 2/3rds appear to be wearing some covering over their chest. BUT in one of them the guy's definitely copping a feel.

The usual interpretation is that the frescoes were a "menu" for the illiterate, so if boob-grabbing was taboo, why advertise it?

Plus, there are pieces from private homes that clearly show topless women. The Venus of Pompeii has something around her midriff, but her boobs are uncovered, and the Villa of the Mysteries shows numerous topless women.

Rome was a society where winged dicks were hung as wind chimes for luck -- heck, to get to the brothel in Pompeii from the docks you LITERALLY follow the erections carved into the street -- so I question whether bare boobs were taboo at all.

I buy the wife these 50 packs of false eyelashes. Believe it or not, you being 29 and all, one of the signs of being over 29 is eyelashes become less dense, thinner. It's a tell.

Anyway, in this 50 pack of eyelashes there's like 10 different levels, from barely noticeable to much more noticeable.

Maybe next year, when you hit 30, you'll reconsider.

I watched the Great Courses series on the Etruscans and the professor was very good. He took pains to point out that while Etruscan women were very free by ancient standards, we couldn't look back on their culture with modern views of feminism.

Note also, this hysteria does NOT extend into the parts of the population that like or don't have a massive issue with Trump...

Yes, the pee would freeze before hitting the ground. There's a famous scene in a Jack London story where he's up in the Yukon or somewhere like that, and he spits -- then hears what sounds like glass breaking when the already-frozen saliva hits the ground.

When I went to art school I had to buy an air brush. So I was used to how f_cking great they are. Got suckered into watching some air brush makeup commercial one late night. Thought, "Wow, I know that would be great for the wife'.

Long story short, they're phenomenal. Less product is used, it doesn't really look like any makeup has been applied, coverage is consistently uniform, and you'll be hooked harder than a junky with a needle still lodged in vein, rubber tubing in teeth.

That's at simply 101 level. The stuff I can do with it is an entire different level.

Spit can, though, and if you pee'd just a little "spit" it might be possible, or if you pee'd off a cliff or something where it had a long fall.

Yes. OMG yes. It's a water based compound so it comes off easily, and sprays easily. Yeah, it clogs once in a while. No big deal. Price per month - since I order the stuff I know, is about $5.00 a month for 30 daily applications. *Shrugs* I don't know makeup prices but it seems reasonable.

It's -- this is a guy thing -- it's the difference between spray painting a car and using a paint brush. One is noticeable the other -- not at all.

Initial cost about one dead President.

I even hosed my own face down one time and people all said I looked great. They had *no clue*. It's that perfect.

641 Here's the problem with Minnesota: Most of them are
scandis or German. As a result, they have a fairly decent work ethic
still. Having a decent work ethic leads to success. Combine that with
Lutheran guilt complex and you have fairly successful people who feel
ashamed of it.

642 it's Minnesota, unfortunately, run by Dayton. Dayton will appoint a Somali Muslim to replace Franken.

Right, Franken being dumped doesn't actually help the Senate's numbers. Forcing Menendez out would.. and should be done. But they are trying desperately to run out the cock so Christie is out of office by then and the Republican leadership is doing nothing to change that.

643 633 I've seen those airbrush makeup things on the shopping channels. They are, indeed, quite intriguing. However, I am here to tell you that when you reach the age where nobody else really gives a shit what you look like, it's fair to ask yourself, well, then, why should I? Of course, I do. But there's only so much you can accomplish with subterfuge.

My wife ran into a woman with a facial deformity - wine something or other. Terribly sad thing. Sold her on the airbrush makeup stuff in five minutes. A life changer for the woman.

But sometimes people want to look the best they can. I noticed that both Bill and Hill Clinton had been airbrushed for the Dem convention. Yeah, they looked a whole lot better.

I don't think looking better is bad.

I am diligently avoiding buying the air brush foundation tools because I know damn well I will be a junkie.

Story time! Prior to attending a MoMee, Bander was watching me get ready which included doing my makeup. I had been a wee bit braggy that I know how to do my face. Since this was for a function, I was doing All The Makeup, up to and including all out face (and some cleavage) contouring. For those that don't know, this is what you look like before you blend, blend, blend everything together:

http://bit.ly/2zOkZ0h

(That is not me, obviously)

So he's watching this and very politely not saying anything about how I look like a circus clown. I finally say okay I'm ready to go now and we leave and get in the elevator and he looks at me and blurts out "All your makeup's disappeared!"

I smirked back and said "Told you I know what I'm doing."

552 e outside and you have to take a leak? Must be hell.

Wonder if the stream would freeze before it hit the ground.

Posted by: publius

Yes, the pee would freeze before hitting the ground. There's a famous scene in a Jack London story where he's up in the Yukon or somewhere like that, and he spits -- then hears what sounds like glass breaking when the already-frozen saliva hits the ground.

Posted by: zombie at November 16, 2017 04:11 PM (42M22)

I've actually done the "peeing outside at Ft Greely at -50 degrees or worse" (fistbump to tcn in AK). Doesn't freeze before hitting the ground, and as long as you block all the wind around you and don't dilly-dally around, you won't freeze your dangly bits (the warmth radiating from your body will temporarily protect the important parts). And no, I didn't pick up the nickname "stumpy".

On the other hand, it's freaky to breathe out and see your breath become snow crystals falling to earth.

Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 16, 2017 04:35 PM (veoSD)

658 I'm not really concerned about "hysteria". I'm more concerned it's become a situation like with gun rights. The left have started to say that we already have laws for background checks and those aren't working, so we have to start confiscating guns. What if they start saying that we already have laws against sexual harassment and rape and those aren't working, so we're going to have to start confiscating genetalia? I can lie and say I lost it in a boating accident, but what about the average guy?

When you buy the initial air brush kit you receive something like 10 different bottles of different shades. Sometimes one is exactly perfect. Sometimes it takes 3 drops of this one and 3 drops of that one. Sometimes in the summer you want to darken a little bit like a tan look.

But, I pretty much wanted the wife to be hitting her skin daily with an anti-aging fluid on face and neck. Results two years in? People think she's twenty years younger.

For me it's trophy wife without the divorce. For about the price of a dead president. I'm kinda cheap bastid that way.
