The yearbook message:

To a sweet more beautiful girl I could not say "Merry Christmas"
Christmas 1977
Love,
Roy Moore, D.A.
12-22-77
Olde Hickory House

Starting with the word Moore the ink changes from black to blue. The very last line is printed instead of script.

The M in Moore is different. The r is different. The 7s in 1977 and -77 are very different.

63 This is a superb painting. The London Plane (Platanus × acerifolia) is beautifully juxtaposed with the Gloriosa lily: note how the red-chestnut of the elongate, petal like leaf bracts sets off the crimson and yellow of the latter's backswept petals.

Interestingly, the mammal-person in the middle appears to have the same variegation on its hands that one sees on the bark of London Plane tree. Probably beenm hanging out there a bit long for her health.

Nice choice. Could use a cabin though. cabins are always nice.

Maybe Moore spurned the red-headed waitress chick, and that's why she's doing this.

She made a big point of saying yesterday how well-developed and attractive she was back then. She was used to getting mens' attention, she said. She and Allred even held up a drawing of her as a youth, presumably to show how irresistible she was back then. (I saw her yearbook photo, and the artist who did the drawing of her was very kind).

Maybe she was hoping "D.A., and important man" Moore would give her a tumble and he took a pass, and now she sees a way to pay him back for the insult? LOL. Just speculating of course, but this whole thing is so nutty, it's hard to resist.

147 I always enjoy Rossetti's works and that of his school. They can span the gamut of impressive to allegory to just pleasant. This one really stands out for me. The dominant greens are unusual for a portrait and the variety of green hues is intriguing. The color palette reminds me of still life paintings of the Dutch Masters. The romantic appearance of the woman is tempered by the slightly stylized expression and posture. It is supposed to be a dream, not realistic.

I don't know if this is supposed to represent a specific story or myth. It does make me think that it could illustrate an image from a Tolkien Elvish poem. It has that First Age of Middle Earth feel about it to me. I find it evocative and worth a lot more study to better appreciate the subtleties.

Starting with the word Moore the ink changes from black to blue. The very last line is printed instead of script.

The M in Moore is different. The r is different. The 7s in 1977 and -77 are very different.

If Roy Moore did indeed travel 6 months back in time with the Yearbook to sign it before it was printed, it is equally likely that the present day Roy Moore was there to sign it as well, so therefore two people signed it, both of them the same person. The main reason I know there were two Roy Moore's present is so the could gang rape young girls all by himself.

"He would go and flirt with all the young girls," he said. "It'd seem like every Friday or Saturday night (you'd see him) walking around the mall, like the kids did."

Jason Nelms, who now lives in Tennessee but grew up in nearby Southside, was a regular at the mall when he was a teenager.

He recalled being told by a mall employee that they kept watch for an older guy who was known to pick up younger girls.

Nelms said he was told later by a concession worker at the mall that it was Roy Moore.

To my eyes (which claim no expertise in handwriting analysis, BTW) it looks like everything after "Moore" was added by someone else.

So who thought Moore was the D.A. in 1977? The woman yesterday said several times that she knew in 1977 that Moore was important because he was the D.A. And she claims that when he pushed her out of the car, he threatened her not to tell anybody what happened, because no one would believe her since "I'm the D.A."

So did Beverly add the "D.A." part, and the date and the name of the restaurant to the inscription, and if so, why? And when did she do it?

No, I don't think it is.

A 16-year-old is barely formed. Physically she is a woman, but emotionally and intellectually she is a child. So an adult simply has too much power over her and can manipulate her to his ends, whatever those may be.

There has to be some parity in relationships, and there is very little in one with such a disparity.

It's an obvious smear job. But since it's now rape-rape, obviously fake evidence can be safely ignored. A lot of pundits and politicians are jumping the gun on this, saying they believe the women, when there's absolutely no reason to do so. Of course Mitch has his reasons, as does McCain.

Notice how they plump the numbers up (six women) four of which are not even claiming bad behavior.

Jeesus, just look at the note, I've never seen anything more fake, the timing (XMas Yearbook signatures (was it even out then) size and angle of the writing, different pens, 7's, DA, Olde, etc..

Laura Ingraham really jumped the gun if this one was capper for her. And Gloria Allred ffs. I'd expect a retraction from her.

269 I think its creepy for an older guy to want to date younger girls, but most people don't think it is for a younger girl to date older guys.

And that reversal is what makes me curious. The age of consent is in place on purpose, because we as a people recognize that after a certain age, someone is old enough to make their own decision on sexual activity; that they are old enough to deal with that powerful feeling and event, that they are old enough to understand what they are doing and deal with the consequences.

And if that's true, then we as a people must also agree that this holds for someone of any age. I question the judgment of a man who likes girls that young while in his 30s but not the legality of it.

So far the only real evidence we have is that Roy Moore liked to date 16-19 year old girls. None of which is illegal, and at the time in Alabama at least, not particularly unusual.

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 14, 2017 10:37 AM (39g3+)

270 However, there supposedly was word around town that Moore was fond of high school girls (legal age, but young)

I'm way too old for them, but holy cow do the 17-21 year old girls shove it out there for all to see. I'm not blind.

Is it plausible that a thirty-something evidencing some success in life would go back and try to impress young girls, girls who were not impressed by him when he was that age?

Yes it is. And if there were one he would be *the* one. There wouldn't be a half dozen lawyers on the make pestering the high school girls at the mall. There would be that guy.

So, would the girls remember him? Yes, of course they would. He would be that guy, the creepy guy who's maybe only kind of creepy.

Women are hard wired to pursue men with resources, status, and power which usually are acquired when men are in their 30's to early 40's.

There is literally nothing wrong with men and women being hard wired to behave this way. It is wrong to punish on sex and reward the other though, which is what is happening with Roy Moore and with men in general.

What is the correct age difference for a couple?

"I know it when I see it!"

When large age differences were the norm, as in the man had to have established himself and the woman had to be young and able to bear, the circumstances of meeting were closely monitored.

I expect most people grossed-out are not put off by the actual age numbers, but by the assumptions of how the meetings must occur. The shopping mall must surely have been the moral downfall of the Western World.

If its wrong to date 16 year olds when you're 33, then its wrong all around. Maybe we should raise the age of consent, particularly as people seem to be maturing significantly slower (at least, mentally and emotionally) these days.

Does that prove anything? No. But it is additional evidence regarding an alleged pattern of behavior.

Maybe, but the whole purpose of statutory rape laws is that we don't want predators going after people who are underage and targeting people who may not be mature enough to make those decisions.

It would be the same if an older gay man started a relationship like this with a minor, even if the minor was gay also.

I really don't think these laws are a big problem for most normal adults to understand and abide by. And most states have "Romeo and Juliet" type exemptions so an 18 year old doesn't get arrested for having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend.

The price Moore paid by being mocked by his coevals ought to have been high enough to dissuade him from even showing interest in high school girls. Maybe he was odd or solitary enough not to have this kind of "peer corrective" in place. Maybe, on the other hand, Alabama men in the 1970s in the generality didn't recognize that a girl half your age has nothing in common with you, and that the only medium of exchange you share is her tolerance of your lechery in return for your attention.

427 It might have been strategically wise for the media, Dems and Republicans to not have pulled this derailment attempt against Moore out of their ass, but just let the election run its course.

You're supposed to boil the frog slowly. But they still think they have some clout, some credibility with the average citizen. But all they're doing is making him alarmed and hastening their own demise.

If they are really convinced at this point that they are an oligarchy, this may be the point at which they declare it out in the open, if Moore wins.

My typing is atrocious, my grammar sometimes incorrect, but I'm not getting graded on my posts here, thank God, and I don't recall making errors when I signed yearbooks. 455 If these women are too young and immature to agree to a relationship, they're too young for sexual activity as well, I'd argue. Which makes the past somewhat problematic; people marrying in their mid-teens and such. Perhaps we're over protective of young people over all.

I've read good writing about how "teenagers" are a fiction created in the 1950s or so, giving young people a period of adult benefits but no adult responsibilities, a 7 year transition period instead of expecting people to grow up.

Perhaps if when you reach a certain age you're expected to be an adult -- led and taught, but still adult -- like it used to be in the past would be better. Then people might actually grow up before they hit 30 or 40 like these days.

40+ years pass, with the guy popping up in politics and all sorts of high-profile situations involving morality. No word appears.

He becomes candidate for Senate, GOPe doesn't think they can bribe him onto conformity, DNC wants the seat at any cost. Suddenly these revelations appear, sourced through national press rather than local. Known ambulance chaser of "sexual harassment" Allred appears, hot on the heels of Rose McGowan tying her daughter to hush payments from Weinstein.

Eh. Not the same sort of thing.

Everyone is an adult in this situation and everyone knew what they were getting into, but it does point out the difference for the sexes (in general).

ANS, like most women, wanted financial security. ie. a long-term(over the short term) relationship. And had the assets to go big.

Old Guy had the big money and wanted someone hot to bang on a regular basis.

Everyone got what they want.

That's what I think is the difference when you have a 14 year old girl and a 30 year old guy.

What's a 30 year old guy want with a 14 year old?

Certainly, not a relationship. He's looking to bang her a-a-a-a-a-and that's pretty much it.

So, it's an exploitive thing at best with someone who does have the experience to know she's being played.

The 14 year old, well it's possible that she just wants to get banged, but it more likely that she's looking for a "high-value" boyfriend for a relationship.

This ain't rocket science people.

There are countries where the age of consent is considerably lower than here.

If you're a dude and that's really what you want, my suggestion is to move there.

That pic up top - that's Moore in his early thirties, right? Daydreaming about teenybopper groupies.

<rant on>

Serioushly, from what I've gleaned, it seems to me that young Moore was courting young gals, in an old-fash style (asking the mom, etc.). And behaved accordingly.

This is incomprehensible to many today (apparently including some concerned commenter yesterday who insisted Moore was just chasing tail). Old-fash Suthrun gentlemanliness' ways are as incomprehensible as was VP Pence's policy on avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.

No doubt there's the element of projection in all this. Those pervs look at this and say, well, if I were dating a high-school girl, I know what I'd be after!

If the dating-age diff seems hinky to us, 'twasn't that long ago most dads would be glad to marry their teenage daughter off to an older rising-star lawyer. Which is what happened, in the end, and Mr and Mrs Moore lived happily ever after.

508 Single guy, spent 20s in military and school, looks for legally adult women to date. Marries one of them, who was aware he dates younger "girls" because she was one of them.

This is the only thing that seems supported by enough evidence and data from the time. He liked high school girls, and dated some. While it shows poor judgment and I don't like it, he clearly got over it after a couple years, and married a woman in her 20s, and has stayed with her ever since. There's not even a whiff of any straying, with young girls or not, since the marriage.

Is that enough reason for him to be blocked from serving in congress? Not to me, at least.

One girl has a strangely over-detailed story involving a questionable inscription in her yearbook, the other claims she got a call from him in her room on her phone when her mom says she didn't have a phone in her room. And Gloria Allred is involved with one?

I can't buy that based on just the accusation. It just doesn't add up.

530 Roy Moore made a practice of dating (not fucking) younger women because he was in search of a young woman with whom to start a big family.

I don't know what was on his mind at the time. Maybe he was hot for high school skirt, maybe he was hunting a young wife. I can't say, and he's not saying because he's claiming he doesn't know any of these women. The fact that he's being so carefully worded and blanket in his denial bothers me, though. If he'd just come out and said "yeah when I was just starting out in the DA's office I was kinda dumb, I dated some high school girls, but I got over that in a hurry," I'd have been a lot happier.

Latest Moore revelation: On July 18, 1969 the then 22 year old Roy Moore drove his car off a small bridge and his female companion drowned. Moore walked back to a friend's house and slept in the back of his friend's car. Only after waking up in the morning did he realize what happened and call the police. The fix was already in place for him and he was only convicted of the traffic offense of "Leaving the scene of an accident."

Clearly this incident in Dippiquadick Alabama disqualifies him from being a senator.

Gadsden locals say Moore's predatory behavior at mall, restaurants not a secret

"These stories have been going around this town for 30 years," said Blake Usry, who grew up in the area and lives in Gadsden. "Nobody could believe they hadn't come out yet."

Usry, a traveling nurse, said he knew several of the girls that Moore tried to flirt with.

"It's not a big secret in this town about Roy Moore," he said. "That's why it's sort of frustrating to watch" the public disbelieve the women who have come forward, he said.
...........
Usry, who was a teenager at the time, remembers seeing Moore at the mall often.

"He would go and flirt with all the young girls," he said. "It'd seem like every Friday or Saturday night (you'd see him) walking around the mall, like the kids did."
................

Greg Legat worked at the Record Bar, a music store near Sears in the mall, from 1981-1985. The store was just down from the back entrance of the mall, near the three-screen Mall Theatre. It was a popular place for parents dropping off their teens in the evenings and on weekends.

Legat, now 59, said an off-duty Gadsden police officer named J.D. Thomas told him about various people he should look out for when he was working. This was around 1981, and Thomas worked security at the mall.

One of the people was a pickpocket, he said, while another was someone prone to pick fights.

One was Roy Moore.

"I asked him, 'What did he do?'" Legat recalled. "He said, 'If you see him, let me know. I'll take care of it.'"

Well, I ran for office and nobody came up with anything on me. Just goes to show that my ancestor's prison records were not digitalized and put on the Internet.

576 I honestly would have preferred had Moore just lied. Said he never knew the girls and it was all bullshit. Or said they lied about their age. Made it "he said, she said" until he was a seated US Senator.

Once he opened the door to that was a phase in his life, I have to believe the guy didn't just court these girls in a strictly platonic sense.

If Moore was such an upstanding paragon of moral virtue, he would have been dating girls at least out of high school in his 30s.

577 Yeah, that caught my eye. I believe lawyers and judges at least have to be skilled at writing precise, unambiguous prose

Not the lawyers I know. Handwriting can be as bad as MDs. And if not legalese, grammar also can be atrocious. General observation...not going near this whole Moore debacle.

And when Moore did eventually marry, his wife was indeed some 14 years younger than him. And they have been together ever since.

583 Yeah, I know I'm going to believe 3 people out of the 30,000 in the town; and I'm sure the journalist didn't advertise for anti-Moore "witnesses", or pay them any money.

585 Why don't you go back, and reading for comprehension, notice the use of 'weasel' words and sources who did not wish to have their names used.

No evidence was found. No records. No lists of names.

Total innuendo.

If signing yearbooks was a 'thing', no doubt an educated man would pull some kind of quote. Every single music teacher did the 'don't bflat, don't bsharp, bnatural'. No doubt there would be a similar for educated men.
