Obama's Campaign Paid Nearly a Million Dollars to Law Firm that Was Secretly Funding FusionGPS

So the sitting president's campaign was funding the pass-through law firm paying for oppo dirt which would later serve as the basis for that president's administration getting a FISA wiretap warrant on the opposite party candidate, and then sparking a special counsel investigation.

As with the Hillary campaign's and the DNC's payments, these payments were claimed to be for "legal services" in official, mandatory FEC filings.

OFA, Obama’s official campaign arm in 2016, paid nearly $800,000 to Perkins Coie in 2016 alone, according to FEC records. The first 2016 payments to Perkins Coie, classified only as “Legal Services,” were made April 25-26, 2016, and totaled $98,047. A second batch of payments, also classified as "Legal Services," were disbursed to the law firm on September 29, 2016, and totaled exactly $700,000. Payments from OFA to Perkins Coie in 2017 totaled $174,725 through August 22, 2017.

And these wiretaps lead to...nothing. All this maneuvering with the full power of Obama's apparatus and then the power of the government and Hillary STILL lost.

51 "As with the Hillary campaign's and the DNC's payments, these payments

And isn't the basis of the FEC complaint that Hillary's campaign failed specify exactly what those payments were for?

From CLC's site:

"They failed to accurately disclose the purpose and recipient of payments
for the dossier of research alleging connections between then-candidate
Donald Trump and Russia, effectively hiding these payments from public
scrutiny, contrary to the requirements of federal law."

So it would seem that unless there was an actual case or controversy that existed in re the campaign or candidate that required legal opinion or research, then it is likely that obumbles was using PC as a pass-through.

307 OK... Let me get this right. Its okay to for the Obama campaign to pay a lawyer to do oppo research, if they ID the payment as oppo; but if they mask it as legal fess payments, then there might be a problem. OK that's one thing to litigate.

BUT, no matter what, if the "Law Firm" that did the "oppo" research crossed the line into illegal elections activity with foreign governments then handed that information back to Obama flunkies, there is still a huge problem for the "legal firm"; and it really undercuts the story about the payments to the firm, once the file is handed back to people connected to the administration.

This really is a magnitude bigger than anything Nixon ever did.

But today I am down, and I feel that the crooks will skate. I mean really, Reps are nominally in charge of House, Senate and White House, and there is a special council in place operating like a punk with impunity. WTF?

Use the stuff from the drawer that has the packets of ketchup and hot sauce, salt and pepper etc.

I'm thinking left over duck sauce packets will do just fine.

309 OK. So I ask again, why would Trump pardon Manafort?
----------------------
Cuz that's how Trump rolls. Ask Obama how he feels about his legacy.
Posted by: Pudding Head

Trump should pardon Podesta, too. That will confuse the lefties

Meh,,,

What difference, at this point, does it make?!?1/11/1//1!?!?!1/1/!??

312 Is anyone really surprised that Obama had a hand in this Fusion thing.

*raises hand* Barry has neither the shift nor the feck to do this. Valjar on the other hand ...

313 Probably not a bad idea but the agent I dealt with was a really nice guy. Ex-Navy. We talked about the issue for a while and then talked football.

Easy peasy.

I'd still be nervous.

314 Nothing to see here. Move along.

315 If Trump preemptively pardons Podesta, Podesta can't take the 5th when testifying...

OK... Let me get this right. Its okay to for the Obama campaign to pay a
lawyer to do oppo research, if they ID the payment as oppo; but if they
mask it as legal fess payments, then there might be a problem. OK
that's one thing to litigate.

BUT, no matter what, if the
"Law Firm" that did the "oppo" research crossed the line into illegal
elections activity with foreign governments then handed that information
back to Obama flunkies, there is still a huge problem for the "legal
firm"; and it really undercuts the story about the payments to the firm,
once the file is handed back to people connected to the administration.

This really is a magnitude bigger than anything Nixon ever did.

Perkins Coie is a DEMOCRAT law firm. So they are protected from the little people, just like their clients.
So...... shut the hell up!

Signed,
Perkins Coie and their Masters of the Deep State

319 Perkins Coie had Bob Bauer as a partner. His wife is the Mao loving Barrel-of-a-gun Anita Dunn, Obama's former comm director.

321 "They'll fight the warrant under attorney-client privilege, but prima facie evidence of their knowing involvement in financial fraud means the FBI gets to look at all of their financial records."
privilege only applies to confidential communications, not to identity of client or $$ paid.

322 Sounds like Obama, Hillary, and the DNC were involved in money laundering. Paying for Russian propaganda under the guise of "Legal services". The American left and the DEM party has corrupted the government.

Posted by: Brian at October 30, 2017 03:35 PM (eZw5j)

323 A real Justice Department would start serving subpoenas on Perkins Coie. Attorney client privilege does not protect ongoing criminal conspiracy and nobody but nobody would flip faster than an overpaid associate at a white shoe law firm threatened with loss of a law license, let alone pound me in the ass federal prison.
