Obama's UN Ambassador Susan Power: I Didn't Make Those Unmasking Requests. Someone Must Have Made Them Using My Credentials.

Someone within the Obama administration’s intelligence apparatus made requests to unmask the identity of Americans named in intelligence reports on behalf of Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. That's what Power told the House Intelligence Committee last week during a closed-door interview. South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday that Power was “emphatic” on the point that someone else in the Obama administration made the unmasking requests that have been attributed to her. Fox News recently reported that Power made approximately 260 unmasking requests -- a rate of one per business day -- in her final year in office, including up through the end of Obama’s term.I'm halfway willing to believe this -- but then, I'm gonna need a major investigation to find out which Obama personnel were using Power's logins and such to illegally make these unmasking requests. Apparently someone without the power to do so himself -- or someone who had the authority, but knew he was engaged in an illegal operation, and so wanted to conceal his identity.

Ergo you could quickly find out if she's lying. Which I believe she is. She's ass covering. There is no reason for her to make those requests. It would only be as part of a broader scheme.

1) If someone was posing as Power, it means they obtained her credentials somehow. Either she shared them with someone (a big no-no), or they purloined them against her knowledge (a REALLY BIG no-no).
2) Regardless of how this "other person" got her credentials, the fact that s/he was permitted to continue making these requests in such large numbers without anyone actually asking Power's office, "Uh, why is the Ambassador so interested in unmasking these people?" means there's been a major breakdown in the chain of approval somewhere. Someone SHOULD have noticed and SHOULD have mentioned this behavior to higher authorities. They're fricking intelligence analysts; they should be able to smell something's off when the Ambassador is making, like, 2 unmasking requests a day.
3) Which makes one wonder: if someone DID notice, and DID report the irregularities, why was it allowed to continue? Don't bother to answer, we all know why: because Obama. But of course that doesn't excuse this gross lapse in judgment. Even if Power herself was making the requests - and I believe she was and this latest pushback is just an attempt to keep the wolves at bay - there should have been inquiries made and lines drawn. That becomes 100 times more obvious if her story is true and it was someone posing as her who was making the requests.
People. Need. To. Go. To. Jail. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, and I also know we're all going to agree nothing will happen to these people. But we still need to say it.

Under the law, it does not go to the FISA court.
The request goes to the Agency who has the intercept... and THEY decide if it is a valid request.
They then provide the unmasked intercept, and the originator has 24 hours to get a Warrant, or they must destroy the information.
Needless to say.... that's not what happened... the information was spread all over...
But the FISA courts are not involved unless you legally want to keep the information for over 24 hours...
But the ONLY penalty for not following the law? is that the information can't be used in a Court of Law... which these people don't care about anyway.

I was a long time Magic fan, primarily due to the fact that BBoySquared was as tall as I was when he was 12 y/o. He was a natural for basketball despite his birth defects.

We live in strange times. It may be what is necessary at this point to counteract the damage of the last eight years. You don't normally go about killing people, but if they are trying to attack you, lethal force is justified. It's not normal behavior, but being attacked is not a normal circumstance. The question is, is the response justified?

So, purge the remnants. And people mainly ignore the media anyway. That's why we see all these protestations "the media is a valuable institution! And we must respect it!" We need to wage all out war on these people at some point. Power would be a good start. Not Hillary, not a minority. The left would be unable to generate any controversy about her.

I agree, its idiotic to keep any of these people in the government and there must be a big purge. Why its not happening more is completely infuriating to me. It is happening some places; Donald Carson is basically gutting the Housing and Urban Development, for example. Way under the radar, nobody is noticing that.

is the process? Is it automated via a .gov system? Does the system
still allow a user ID and password for login or is it, like almost all
.mil systems, one that requires the use of a Common Access Card or a
specially chipped "token" card for access, i.e. something that someone
must physically have in their possession, insert into a card reader at
the terminal, and know the PIN in order to access the system?
Even government computers that are non-military require a chipped ID card for access to the computer. Beyond that, yes, she likely would have had to have a username and password, and the password would have had to have been changed every few months. So who else had access to her information?

Sessions is the Attorney General. He's in charge of the Justice Department. ICE and the FBI are both part of the Justice Department. I say, she is willing to take the perjury charge over answering any more questions on unmasking. If her claim is that she 'didn't do it,' it is on CONGRESS to prove that she did. Will they be able to do this? How long will it take?
I think Power lied to avoid having to answer more questions and weighed her options. She is hoping that they cannot clearly make the connection back to HER...if they do, she'll take the perjury hit along with any other charges. But at this stage, to lie was her best and only option.
