The Decline and Fall of Media Virtue Signalling: New York Times Admonishes Reporters to Stop With the Constant Partisan Tweeting

Mollie Hemingway hardest hit -- she loves pointing to Twitter spasms as evidence (as if more is needed) of the media's hard-left, hyperpartisan bent.

Michael Walsh reports the Times' new guidelines at the link. Here is just a taste (there are a lot of guidelines):

On social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates, make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Times’s journalistic reputation.

Our journalists should be especially mindful of appearing to take sides on issues that The Times is seeking to cover objectively.

...

If you are linking to other sources, aim to reflect a diverse collection of viewpoints. Sharing a range of news, opinions or satire from others is usually appropriate. But consistently linking to only one side of a debate can leave the impression that you, too, are taking sides.

Exercise caution when sharing scoops or provocative stories from other organizations that The Times has not yet confirmed. In some cases, a tweet of another outlet’s story by a Times reporter has been interpreted as The Times confirming the story, when it in fact has not.

Reporters have been abusing the hell out of social media to "report" rumors by retweeting unconfirmed claims - a vast left-wing conspiracy. They know this isn't journalistically ethical, but they really want to get that dirt on Trump out to the maximum number of people, all under the aegis of once-respected news organizations.

The Times is also telling reporters to be civil in engagement with critics and not to block them just for mere criticism.

Read the whole thing, as the kids say.

Mrs. Harv's "Marchesa" is kaput, as well.

Daily Mail says that marriage was a "sexless business arrangement". Harv was her ticket from hard hitting substantive roles like "Floozy #1" to being a top fashion designer. All Harv's women had to wear her crap.

I don't know about sexless. They had two children. Well, she gave birth to two children. A girl, 7 and a boy, 4.

Harv has 3 daughters with his previous marriage.

100 So speaking of horses and Twitter.

It seems a farmer was plagued by birds building nests in his horse's hair. So he smeared baker's yeast all over the horse.

Because, as they say, yeast is yeast, and nest is nest, and never the mane shall tweet!

Posted by: Muldoon at October 16, 2017 06:06 PM (wPiJc)

101 Reporters have been abusing the hell out of social media to "report" rumors by retweeting unconfirmed claims - a vast left-wing conspiracy. They know this isn't journalistically ethical, but they really want to get that dirt on Trump out to the maximum number of people, all under the aegis of once-respected news organizations.

And... I suspect they will not be able to help themselves. the need for a scoop, the need for virtue signalling, and the need to be The One who tweeted the ultimate sick burn that took down the Trump is too strong.

The main reason 90% of these people tweet is to go viral, to be the one who said it first and everyone repeated.

110 NY Slimes doesn't like their top propagandists being discredited on Twitter, the front lines of the battle for the American Mind.

When they publish articles, no direct refutation is possible. (the cheese stands alone). But it is smelly skanky cheese, and that is revealed by the Twitter commandos of the (genuine) alt-right.

KKK/Nazis were not alt-right, that was a smear to take out the real alt-right, the alternative to Ryan/McConnell fake Republicans. "Americanists" is maybe better ... America First, God and Country ... the real Boy Scouts, all those virtuous things the l;eft tries to destroy. The Carlos Slimes loved preaching from their mountaintop, not having their idolized writers exposed as frauds by mere infidels.

Battle stations ... we will fight them on Twitter, we will fight them on Facebook we will fight them on 4Chan -- things Churchill would be saying today.

Second, I actually agree with that. Hasn't everyone seen how college campuses have now devolved? So, yeah, those who aren't brainwashed will have more affinity to others who aren't either.

Management requests that, in the interest of creating the illusion of fake objectivity, you make sure that your dealings on social media make every effort not to make you appear to be the pompous, biased, left wing assholes that you are in reality. This will easily impress the great unwashed majority of rubes we wish to deceive and not fool our core constituency one bit.

Appreciate your efforts,

The Management

Yeah, Deviled eggs. Its hard to find good smoked paprika (you can't go cheap) but if you do, its wonderful.

I grew some lime thyme in my herb garden this year and its amazing. It smells incredible and it goes well with a lot of stuff. Thyme has an unfortunate tendency to taste like dust but this stuff is nice and bright and fresh.

I grew lemon thyme too and its... not good in anything, yet. I'm still experimenting.
