Colin Kaepernick Files a Grievance Against the NFL Claiming All 32 Owners "Conspired" To Make Him Mediocre and Toxic for the Brand

Actually the grievance -- which is a legal complaint, but filed in an arbitration setting -- says that the owners conspired to not sign him.

Kaepernick, and his attorney — celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos — say that all 32 team owners conspired together to deny him a spot in professional football, even though Kaepernick walked away from a one-year option on his contract with the 49ers, and hasn't been an asset to any football team since 2013.

NFL owners, the complaint says, "have colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick's leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States." Kaepernick contends that it's a "statistical impossibility" that he has not, so far, obtained gainful employment as a professional football player.

Did they conspire to give him a weaksauce 88 quaterback rating? Sure seems to blame a Vast Conspiracy of people for his own weaknesses.

Colin Kaepernick will soon be publishing a book called What Happened: Why I Barely Showed Up in Wisconsin for the NFC Championship Game.

PS, I have no idea when the 49ers last played the Packers for the NFC championship.

15 Something that should be pointed out more often is the hypocrisy that the NFL owners largely sided with the players that wanted to kneel (publicly) yet no one wants to go near Kaepernick and sign him because they know it would easily wipe out $100 million of the team's value.

42 Just did a search on Colin's worth as a QB in 2016. He was rated at 29 of 50 QBs possible. Not even close to the top tier. Add to that, he caused dissention in his team and locker room and cast aspersions that whites have it in for blacks. That doesn't work too well given his coaches are mostly white.

There is an element of TEAM SPORTs that Colin doesn't get. I think its the "TEAM" part of the equation.

Otherwise, why would anyone want a guy that supports killing cops based on their race being the face of their franchise?

Something that should be pointed out more often is the hypocrisy that
the NFL owners largely sided with the players that wanted to kneel
(publicly) yet no one wants to go near Kaepernick and sign him because
they know it would easily wipe out $100 million of the team's value.
.
.
.There is a fiduciary responsibility to NOT hire this guy because of the potential $$$$$ loss. Team stake holders, season ticket holders, other players who had to renew their contracts after he got signed, Stadium owners and vendors could sue the owner who signed him on if he did get put under contract. And they most likely would win.

Also Vick took the job he was offered, backup QB, at likely a significant salary cut from what he was making before jail. Now he did get an opportunity to start after that but he came back as a backup. Kapernick doesn't want to be a backup, he wants to be a starter and get paid starting QB money.

Well, I'm an idiot. Trump is coming to Greenville, SC, and my mother was up at the nursing home where my father is. Driving herself. Well, I had forgotten about it, and then I heard.

She's close to I-85, where his motorcade will come down. I called and told her she'd better get out of there and come home before they start blocking off everything.

Too late. She just called and she's stuck. The minute Trump sat down on the tarmac, they blocked off all the bridges over I-85 on his route.

I should've told her to just stay put. She still does pretty good, but I don't like her driving after dark. She could've waited and I could've just got her and left her car there and brought her back tomorrow.

A Christian Scientist woman, involved in the healing ministry, whose friend I officiated at a wedding for several years ago wants me to perform her wedding. I have only had a few short dealings with this woman by e-mail. This what she wrote:

We want a small wedding-just us and perhaps a friend if a witness is needed. We're seeing our marriage as a lovely gift from God in fulfillment of His plan for us, individually and together. It's a very sacred union, spiritually defined and supported, full of love and purpose.

Every minister should have a couple like that!. Such a serious, sacred attitude. It made me smile.

No, RM, the owners and all (all) of the rest of the players are responsible for this.

The players and owners both have let this happen. They're variously weak, arrogant, stupid, ignorant, racist, and irresponsible.

If "only" 3% kneel, then 97% are letting them do it. "Team".

But don't fret- a country that elected Obama (twice) is surely vapid and stupid enough to sustain a major sport spitting in its face. So the NFL will continue to make money, and showcase the weakness, racism, and overall degradation of so much of America.

That right there meant he'd never be signed in Miami. As said: not so smart.

358 People talk about how the First Amendment rights of those kneeling players are sacrosanct, and how we have to respect those rights, but...

The simple fact is, when you take a job, any job, you do give up some portion of your right to free speech in exchange for a paycheck.

You work the register at a fast food place? You're not allowed to say into that microphone, "Number three, no onions, upsized, Mountain Dew, and... the five-second rule is in effect on this order."

You work at a law firm? You're not allowed to go to a party and say, "Hey, cute person of the opposite sex who I'm trying to impress, you'll never guess what I learned about (insert local celebrity's name here) by looking at his divorce file!"

You work in the customer service call center for an ISP? You're not allowed to say to a customer, "I don't know what set of circumstances led to your router falling into the toilet, and I don't think I want to know. Just, uh, don't tell the Tier Two technician I'm transferring you to that that's what happened."

And if you pull down a six-to-eight-digit salary for playing a children's game, you signed a contract in which you promised to stand for the national anthem with your right hand over your heart. Fail to do so, and you are in breach of that contract.
