This season of college football has been horrible. During the Florida/TN game I'm fairly certain I saw commercial, brief play, commercial, timeout, commercial, TD, commercial, field goal, commercial, kickoff, commercial.
It's getting ridiculous.
Although streaming the games is comical because you get to see the Super Referees in their red uniforms. They're the guys that coordinate TV commercials, and they don't f*ck around.

I guess you can see that way, or you can see it: a man trying to hit a ball coming at him at 95 mph with a fraction of a second to decide whether to swing or not. There's a man in scoring position. The game can be won or lost with one swing of the bat. If he's a really good hitter he's got a 30% chance of hitting it.
I like my way of seeing it better. It's much more fun.
There are certainly boring games, or innings, but baseball can go from boring to intensely exciting in a matter of seconds. People who understand and love the game watch it for those moments.

Easy way to fix that, 2 teams, one on each end of a 400 yard field, limited cover, no fancy scopes, unlimited ammunition. Team with the most players standing at the end of the agreed upon time limit wins.
Come one, you know a hell of a lot of people would pay good money to watch that!

To watch? Unbearable. Slow. Methodical. 80% of action out of view (under water), just a blizzard of ref's whistles and flags, and splashes most of the time. Olympics is no better than high school or NCAA (to watch).
But to play, not much room for boredom. 100% effort at all times (you're, um, swimming), no quiet right field duty as in a casual softball league, no cruising half your shift as in hockey.

I have been playing softball most of my adult life. Corporate teams and city leagues. So I really know the game. But I only enjoy it by going with a gang. Our team would go together, drink and be merry. Funner that way. Otherwise, I can't watch it on TV.

Silverman and Cho shows are not worth your time. I thought to myself, where the hell Margaret Cho had been. After watching the interview, I now know why. She's extremely uninteresting.
FWIW, I would advise watching the Letterman and Carrey eps. Always find Norm's depth of knowledge and ability to challenge his interviewee surprising and impressive.
If Kimmel has a 160 IQ (highly doubtful), then Norm has to be somewhere north of that or be on the spectrum.

This will likely be that one movie per year (max) that I'll have an interest in seeing at the theater. I was lucky that I caught the original in its limited theatrical re-run in the 90's. My horrible parents wouldn't let me see it during its original run when I was 7 no matter how much I begged.
