House Democrats ordered the systematic falsification of records showing how they spend their taxpayer-provided office budgets, according to lawyers for two former House information technology (IT) aides. It's a remarkable accusation that pits sitting lawmakers against the former aides, Imran Awan, his brothers Abid and Jamal, and his wife Hina Alvi.... One of Imran’s lawyers, Aaron Page, acknowledged the invoicing discrepancy Aug. 21, telling The Daily Caller News Foundation, "This is just how things have been done for forever. This is what experienced members of Congress expect: to expedite things, they adjust the pricing." If members or senior staff instructed IT aides to misrepresent how budgets were spent, that could potentially explain why officials have not charged the Awans with crimes related to procurement, even a full year after House authorities gathered documentation showing invoices that claimed expensive technological items cost $499 instead of their true price: potentially an open-and-shut violation. "The only reason you’re not seeing charges is because the Democrats who employed him are not cooperating," a senior Republican congressional official with direct knowledge of the probe told TheDCNF last month.

If Congress has traditional methods of sidestepping the regulations it writes for itself -- and I believe they do -- then this is an entirely plausible example of one.
If investigating the Awani clan means shining a light on the practice it may be worth protecting the practice.

It is my version of hitting what I want to hit at 400+ yards. My only problem is a knee requiring replacement so I can shoot and scoot to avoid the drones. It is scheduled for February. So please hold off TSHTF until mid April. Meanwhile I will continue to reload and spent time at the local, private, range where we have a berm at 400.

Here's the deal team: rate of fire had nothing to do with this atrocity. It goes down the same way, bump fire or not. You can semi auto spray plenty fast to kill crowds of people who cannot run.
The argument should be that the government cannot have for itself something it does not give to us. Is select fire helpful in protecting the lives of politicians? Then it should be something the public can choose as well, for all the purposes intended by the second amendment, including defense of personal safety and individual liberty.
And, if you want to protect places where 10's of thousands of people congregate from sniper vantage points, that can be done. Expensive but do-able. Because spray fire in semi-auto can accomplish what this psycho did, it's the only serious approach to stopping future attacks like this.

At the same time, when I first saw a bump-stock, I was a bit concerned. TBH I see it as a novelty item, hardly useful tactically. I won't be suprised or all that disappointed to see them banned.
Kind of like how we can't drive Indy cars on the freeway. It's so impractical anyway.
Again, I'm totally anti-infringement, but banning bump-stocks are not something that is going to infringe on our right to bear or to self-defense. A skilled shooter can be way more effective than someone using a bump-stock.

The only 2 I think feel caught between a rock & a hard place are Fallon, and maybe Myers. Don't watch, so mostly reading between the lines. Their politics are left, sure, but not sure they are full on SJW. And late night talk show hosts have predominantly been left, but it didn't consume them so much as to make it unwatchable.
