As long as Hillary continues the blame game she will continue to be ripped. And rightfully so. Just. F*cking. Go. Away. Bitch. The ONT has never seen this in any of Sunday's Food Threads. And it is doubtful that Weasel and Bluebell will have this recipe in their cook book (cough, cough). So The ONT brings you Weed gummies recipe. Once you’ve mastered the basics of cooking with marijuana, like making weed butter or baking pot brownies, it’s time to move onto advanced techniques. Weed gummies are a popular choice because they fit in a little bag, they’re delicious, and their small size makes dosing a breeze. This is only for you Morons where the weed stuff is legal. Don't be making illegal gummies otherwise. September 18, 1970, Jimi Hendrix was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary Abbot's Hospital in London at the age of 27 after choking on his own vomit. Hendrix left the message 'I need help bad man', on his managers answer phone earlier that night. Rumors and conspiracy theories grew up around Hendrix’s death. Eric Burdon claimed Jimi had committed suicide, but that’s contradicted by reports that he was in a good frame of mind. In 2009, a former Animals roadie published a book claiming that Jimi’s manager had admitted to him that he arranged the murder of Hendrix, since the guitarist wanted out of his contract. via thisdayinmusic.com September 18, 2006, 73 year old country singer Willie Nelson and four members from his band were charged with drug possession after marijuana and magic mushrooms were found by police on his tour bus. PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Getting cited by the police doesn't always have to be a bad thing in Pierce Township. The Green Revolution, saving the world from global warming and weaning us from our addiction of fossil fuels. But, can we really run a modern society on green power alone? For instance, in Europe, the practical wind energy potential for electricity production on- and off-shore is estimated to be at least 30,000 TWh per year, or ten times the annual electricity demand. [1] In the USA, the technical solar power potential is estimated to be 400,000 TWh, or 100 times the annual electricity demand. [2] Such statements, although theoretically correct, are highly problematic in practice. This is because they are based on annual averages of renewable energy production, and do not address the highly variable and uncertain character of wind and solar energy. It’s been roughly 230 years since the American Constitution first debuted. Unfortunately, that length of time doesn’t seem to have solidified its presence in the American mind. In fact, many Americans cannot even name the most famous element of its First Amendment. According to a recent survey published by the Annenberg Public Policy Center, more than a third of Americans are unable to name any of the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. Freedom of speech is one of these rights. Yet while knowing this right seems like a simple and obvious matter, only 48 percent of Americans are familiar with it. Dan is wearing a T shirt that says VETERAN. Underneath that word is a US Flag. The US Flag on Dan's shirt has 11 stripes. Yes. Eleven stripes. - I noticed it all by my lonesome. When Dan walked into the bar I thought 'That flag looks off' It was more rectangular with the Blue field than square. That looks better if you're a graphic designer, but - hey - it's not accurate. Gotta think the police have realized that stopping people to give them a ticket for a good deed is not a great idea. I like the idea where if they see the fixing flat scenario or come on a scene that they would check out anyway and see someone trying to help, they would give a ticket. It can't possibly hurt to have some pleasant dialogue.
Posted by: RM at September 18, 2017 10:45 PM (eP+dt) 122
For me, the concern would be if they're pulling people over to give them the "good" tickets. The example they cited wouldn't bother me - coming across someone who stopped to help someone else change a flat. But, I don't want any cops pulling me over to give me any kind of citation, even a good one. I got better things to do and I don't need the stress.

Forgot. There is something affecting the entire state. Nebraska got stomped for the second week in a row. Right now, I'm thinking it wasn't such a bad idea to close last year. Posted by: Misanthropic Humanitarian ----------- Which reminds me: THE 2017 EVENT IS CANCELLED Our non-profit, the World Punkin Chunkin Association, a 100% volunteer based group, has recently come under litigation regarding the incident where Ms. Suzanne Dakessian, a Sharp Entertainment’s employee, was involved in an unfortunate accident at our 2016 event. The pending lawsuit lists our non-profit and its officers as Defendants. The landowners who graciously donate the use of their property each year for our non-profit endeavors are also listed as Defendants. They are reluctant to host our 2017 event in light of the lawsuit. With less than 74 days until our event, we are left with no options. It is with our deepest regrets that we announce that 2017 Punkin Chunkin is canceled and with it, the economic impact that Delaware receives, the funds that we generate to help fund other non-profits and the scholarships for deserving youth. Refunds will be issued within the week. It is unfortunate that Suzanne Dakessian was injured, and we continue to extend our best wishes to her, her family and her loved ones. We have no further comment at this time. Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc., etc. at September 18, 2017 11:29 PM (9tO1t) 282

Actually, though it depends on the item, most expiration dates are quite meaningless (as far as the quality of the food). We're talking dry, or processed, or boxed or canned items, obviously. There are few exceptions, but they're obvious and common sense when you come across them.

Of course same is true for many medicines and medical items, kept in
proper conditions. The "expiration date" stuff is extremely conservative, at best, to pretty much meaningless, as in the case of most food items. Not all of course, but many. Which led to some hilarious situations back when US pharma companies were donating huge amounts of "late dated" medical stuff for use in US assistance programs to the former Soviet republics (and to Russia itself), in the years right after the break-up. The Russkis and former Soviets first had to have the entire concept of "expiration date" explained to them. After which they immediately had to have the irrelevance of this, in many cases, explained to them. Then they had to be convinced that we weren't dumping bad/dangerous stuff on them. And they got huffy. Kind of classic, really. If one isn't already acutely aware of a lot of the stupid s**t that burdens American life, needlessly, dealing with furriners and explaining everything to them really brings it to life. Posted by: rhomboid at September 19, 2017 12:22 AM (QDnY+) 407
That's true with most drugs -- in the pill form. They'll last well beyond the expiration date. The military did some study, and most drugs would keep near their full potency for 10 years or better. Some exception was tetracycline antibiotics, the whole family. There is some concern they will break down into something toxic, and 3 years in the maximum. But that may not be true for modern manufacturing processes, but it's still a big thing they warn about. Now, that's different with some medicines in liquid form, which can loose potency quickly, but pills are good for a long time. Still, almost all food manufacturers do micro testing on most products (at least for big corporations- liability.) We did testing on everything even though our product was around 3.4 (and not many food borne pathogens can live at that high an acidity.)
It is fun to read the news if you have a background in food quality. One recently was a listeria contamination on some product. Listeria is pretty much only found in cooked prepared foods if they have a roof leak which contaminates the product after cooking (you can find plate counts on it from standing water sometimes.) So the first thing when I hear a listeria contamination of say, peanut butter is: "Fix the damn roof!" Posted by: Aetius451AD Work Laptop at September 19, 2017 12:43 AM (rb1zT) 443

One thing I have learned from watching late-night MLB with local ads is that food in southern CA looks much more appetizing than the stuff in N CA.
I mean, who wants a vegetarian "Maui Wowie" pizza with pineapple and kiwi on it?!? Good grief. No wonder the Giants are failing. But El Pollo Loco --- that ad with the chicken on the grill --- is very alluring. Posted by: Margarita DeVille at September 19, 2017 12:48 AM (0jtPF) 449
202 -- Yeah, school uniforms are expensive, but they wore like iron. Or at least my daughter's did. I'd buy her two skirts about a size too big. That way, she got two years out of each set. I don't know what fabric the manufacturer used, but they came out of the dryer as crisp and unwrinkled as the day I bought them. Yeah, I was able to resell some of them right up until the moment she became the tallest girl in school and just kept growing. If you live in a decent neighborhood, you can find a very lively uniform economy.

Speaking of expiration dates, most of the 7.62X54R ammo I have (Russki, Romanian, Bulgarian) is from the early 80s. But the spam cans are wonderful. A loud hiss when you break into them. Have never had a bad round - in, let me think about this, maybe 2,500 that I've shot? Oldest I've shot was some 1946 Russian. No problem.
Powder can deteriorate, even in loaded ammo. But there's usually some external indication (I always eyeball surplus rounds before use - actually sort of examine all rounds to some extent). I may sell of a bit of the stash, as I expect some day I'll reload (pretty easy to add calibers when you already reload). Posted by: rhomboid at September 19, 2017 12:51 AM (QDnY+) 452

Well, looks like I will be hitting the road tomorrow to make my way to the GNAMM. Looked for fuel leaks on the 'burban this morning, and it seems to be the mechanical lift pump was leaking and/or failed. So I simply bypassed, and ran a hose direct from the fuel line at the frame rail up to the filter on the firewall. So the electric pump under the floor will be my full-time pump. And the glow plug controller didn't kick in this morning, so I installed a Ford-style starter solenoid to bypass that controlled by a push button the dash. Of course once that little job was done, the glow plug controller worked just fine. Go figure.
But the 'burb did the return trip from here to Calgary just fine, call it a shakedown cruise, and it never missed a beat. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at September 19, 2017 12:55 AM (EkNES) 460

I'm a big fan of the radio show Hollywood 360. They play a lot of old radio dramas. They used to talk about modern movie releases, but they dropped that in favor of more old radio shows.
The show starts at midnight on Saturday night (or Sunday morning, depending on how you look at it) in my market, so it's common for me to drift in and out of sleep while listening to it (as well as the also-terrific Eric Metaxas Show, which follows it at 3 am). Anyway... recently, I woke up during the show to hear some amazing singing. A guy with a rich and soulful voice, singing some sad old-timey song, really pushing out that mournful regret and making me feel it, too. I'm thinking, "Why have I never heard this guy before? He's amazing! I need to stay awake and find out who he is." A few minutes later, the original announcer of the old-timey show piped up, and now I knew why I'd never heard that singer before. It was Al Jolson! The visuals of his act may be offensive to our delicate modern sensibilities, but, man, he was a fantastic singer! I guess I shouldn't be so surprised by this discovery. There had to be some reason the guy was so incredibly popular back in the day, and I don't think it's because people liked watching whities prance around with shoe polish on their faces. 467 Al Jolson was good, but Bing Crosby was GREAT! By embracing the microphone early on, he developed the style of singing intimately (ie not shouting). He invested in (bought) Ampex, getting into tape recording before almost anyone. He was almost single-handedly responsible for modern (1960s) music.

red i believe there was a bigger Hep A outbreak on Skid Row a few years back - the SD folks are adopting some measures used to deal with that (like chlorine/power-washing streets).
But speaking of immunization prudence, make sure you and Resident Evil get the DPT - not the DT - booster next time you're due. DPT was for youngin's only, most of our adult lives. But .... since "P" has made a come-back, for reasons shrouded in mystery (much as the motivation for most terror attacks remains inscrutable), best to go back in time and get the DPT. Had a funny/sad discussion with the nurse last time I got the DPT, about the backward time-travel we were witnessing due to *mumble mumble* mass illegal migration - and she had blood-boiling stories too about the fact-fudging and dishonesty she'd seen in hitherto dependable public health stuff, all of it naturally to avoid mentioning a particular issue. Nice Doris Day links, folks.
She had a big, strong voice but could sound so delicate too. I like the clarity and the way she always sounds so feminine without ever getting cutesy. Posted by: Margarita DeVille at September 19, 2017 01:57 AM (0jtPF) 526

Oh, speaking of "quite cold in the studio", I just recently took to watching Burn Notice. The whole series is on Netflix. I'm really enjoying it! Netflix recommended it to me because I've watched all the Archer episodes they have.
Anyway, I'm quite taken with Gabrielle Anwar in this show. You always hear about women "improving like a fine wine" with age, and she definitely lives up to that principle. She's always running around in these thin, clingy outfits and is apparently allergic to bras. Posted by: Prothonotary Warbler at September 19, 2017 02:01 AM (3YxFh) 531
Something else. Sitting next to Doris was Carol Wayne, who's playing the ditzy blonde bimbo to the hilt, who up and says she doesn't like animals. And further she doesn't want anything to lick her that isn't going to marry her. Doris does not appreciate that too much. The fun starts a bit after the 11:10 mark. So Trump Tower was in fact wire tapped. At least Manafort's office in the Tower was, and at a time when he was in face in frequent communication with PDT.
And the MSM reports it as "government" wire tapping, carefully omitting the fact that it was Obama and his minions who were in fact spying on a political adversary. Headlines should read, "Obama wire tapped Trump." But nothing will happen. Hundreds of hearings will continue to be held on this and all of the other various Obama/democrat criminal activities. And that's that. Hearings. Posted by: IrishEi at September 19, 2017 06:31 AM (HiDrR) 586

"If we picked a day of Going Galt on all electronic media, could we do it?
If we call it a day of Radio Silence, the Left would miss the historical connection." No, I don't think we could. The Right is a too loosely connected group of individuals to be able to coordinate something like that effectively. The Left could do it. The tend to run a more centralized form of party alignment and action. And pretty much anything that the right might do on a physical level to reflect an intellectual statement would be lost on the majority of the left. Not a lot of deep thinkers, nor studiers of history in that group. Hundreds of acid attacks in London, hammer attack on women (both still critical,) knife attack on French soldiers, numerous rapes in England, Sweden, etc.
e.g.: Just today, two Afghan "asylum seekers" arrested for a brutal rape of a 16 yo German girl on a city street in a Bavarian town just south of Munich. A third was arrested for attempted rape--seems he was interrupted by a passer-by. Posted by: IrishEi at September 19, 2017 07:03 AM (HiDrR) 617
