The Morning Report 9/13/17

HZ.jpg

Good morning kids. Midweek and up front we have the massive effort to clean up and rebuild after the twin battering of Harvey and Irma. Plus we still have another one in the form of Jose still whirling out there off the southeastern coast. The lead graphic speaks volumes. First, I give you Sister Margaret Ann, a nun somewhere in the Miami Dade region wielding a chain saw with a smile on her face to clear debris. And then we have Stevie Wonder, who not 10 seconds into the beginning of a benefit concert decided to shoot his mouth off and attack people who are too blind to fall for the global warming scam. Pro Tip, Stevie: You attract a lot more bees with sugar than with bile. Speaking of rancid bodily fluid, Jimmy Kimmel opened his worthless cake hole to attack Ted Cruz. Note to Democrats: This is why you got Trump.

In other news, Seattle's Democrat Mayor has resigned over another allegation of child rape; I guess when Democrats say "it's for the children" they ain't kidding, right? H.R. McMustard is adding fuel to the fire that he's not exactly pro-Israel, plus in PDT's 9/11 speech the words "Islamic terrorism" were glaringly absent. Before Gorka, Bannon and the other hardliners were purged, that expression was freely and liberally used. Speaking of the religion of peace, I give you the last link. 16 years later and civilization has its head up its ass. Sheesh.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

25 From the Democrat protect the unions bill link

The bill would overrule a 2015 decision by President Obama's National
Labor Relations Board, which expanded the liability of parent companies
in a decision critics said heavily favored labor unions[/]

Obama packed the NLRB with union lawyers and that was one of the payoffs. This board should be eliminated or at least fire every one appointed by Obama and any other Lawyer for the unions since they obviously have a conflict of interest.

I think the Awans were in it for the money, not due to ideology. I say this based on the fact that they seemed quite fond of scamming their own relatives for cash.

93 Amazing:

Democratic and business groups are pushing President Donald Trump to accept a 2017 Dream Act but the legislation would greatly expand the size the DACA amnesty, welcome more criminals, eliminate existing education expectations, sideline American youths, and greatly expand the financial costs paid by Americans.

For example, the Democrats' Dream act would provide a near-automatic amnesty path to citizenship to a low-wage school dropout who was convicted of two felonies, providing he also enrolls in a neighborhood education program and it would likely impose a $2 trillion cost on taxpayers over the next 50 years.

And note that it adds yet another "education program" for criminals. Another worthless program that has never worked. And since it looks like the CAC wants it so watch the RINOs fall in line.

At one point, a screen was put up and a short cartoon of Mickey and Minne enjoying carnal congress was shown. 153 Wow, that Awan article at the Daily Caller is unbelievable. Everyone should read it. Awan had complete access to everything, including emails, for 45 Democrats, and he routinely funneled things to a secret server, as well as huge amounts of info to Dropbox.

And the Democrats have refused to acknowledge the cybersecurity breach publicly, and some of those 45 have been "passive about helping build the case."

Hmmm. I wonder why that is? Surely there would be nothing to embarrass them among their files?

At one point, a screen was put up and a short cartoon of Mickey and Minne enjoying carnal congress was shown. Walt laughed along with everyone else, and when the movie was over, asked who had created it.

Harlan Ellison has a story where he worked at Disney for a day, and got fired after shooting his mouth off at lunch about how they should do a Disney porn movie.

Don't remember the details since I read it years ago, but I realize now its probably BS.

191 So the weather started really churning up as Sunday progressed. Fairly nasty by Sunday evening. We lost power fairly early that evening. Irma was originally gonna really smack us Monday morning through midday. Didn't happen. Bitch showed up in the middle of the night. Honestly, I slept through most of it. Woke up at about 6am to what sounded like a damn freight train running through the apt.

Wife said it had been going like that for hours. We found out later that at least 4 tornadoes touched down within 7 miles of us. Multiple water spouts off the coast. Turns out that our little town got the highest storm surge due to Irma of anywhere in the US.

No major damage to the apt complex or the new home under construction. My sis and parents both live in the area and they were fine as well. My sis is a NICU nurse and as part of the Emergency Response Team, spent 4 straight days at the hospital. The pics she sent of the flooding surrounding the hospital were insane.

My parents went and stayed with the grandparents. Who live on a river. Uh huh. Massive flooding on their property. Destroyed their dock. They had a wooden gazebo and wooden decking in the backyard. Lots of the dock and the decking ended up floating by their back door. Pool was completely underwater. To give you an idea of how much flooding occurred, you couldn't see the handles for the pool ladder at all. Fortunately, their property slopes dramatically to the river and the back of the house is well up off the ground. It was a close thing, but no water made it into the house proper. The garage had about a foot of water in it.

I can't describe the flooding in downtown Jacksonville. If you haven't seen pics and video yet, go look it up. Stunning.

We still have no power. My parents don't. Grandparents don't. Sis does. It sucks. Temps in the mid 80s with Florida humidity and you don't even have fans to move the air is brutal. But we're all alive and relatively unscathed.

I lived in Florida for over 30 years. That was always the worst part. You're dealing with summer temperatures (usually 90s), and all that standing water meant 100% humidity until it evaporated. Being without power (and thus without AC) for up to a week in such a situation is pure misery. It gets hot and sticky, and there's no way to cool off at all, since the sweat just sticks to you instead of evaporating as it was meant to.

2. Hire a unionized company to build it. Have you ever seen what a group of union thugs can do, especially when some bozos be messin' wit their paychecks? I'll buy popcorn.

3. Block off with BP checkpoints the few roads leading to the construction site. Deport a few CNN 'reporters' there while you're at it. I predict more cameras there than actual protesters, anyways.

4. Deport Soros, and the funding might just dry up for that sort of 'grassroots' mob action.

5. Hire a biker gang for security. Hmm, I wonder if there are any unionized biker gangs? Moar popcorn, please.

6. Now for the most radical suggestion of all. Enforce the fucking laws of this country. Oh shit, did they all faint at once? My bad.

Yeah, the worst was trying to get to sleep last night. Everyone miserable and pissed off.

As of yesterday evening, about 40% of power had been restored. Friends invited us over for dinner and to recharge all the electronics. (The smart wife bought about 8 portable cell phone chargers so we could keep the phones up and running and in some sort of contact with people.)

Wife and Drunken Midgets are gonna head over to my sis' place a little later for showers and AC and food. We have a friend whose parents are very well off. Multiple homes. One in the nice golf course community nearby. That one is unused at the moment and apparently has power. They've offered to let us camp out there until we get power back. If we don't have power by the time I get home from work today, we'll head over there for the evening.

Just bring 8 or 10 large buses and a bunch of armed federal LE to the first building site.

Make it clear that any and every protester who breaks the law (e.g., throws rocks at cops, tries to assault a construction worker, whatever) immediately gets arrested and put on the bus. The bus transports all the arrestees to federal prison, where they get the maximum of every charge the federal prosecutors can think of.

These assh*les think they can always get away with this shit with no consequences. The feds need to make some very hard examples of lots of these people, as a lesson to the others that this kind of bullshit will not be tolerated.

No telling. But Samsung 8 is a $900 phone, I guess the extra digit causes people to stop and go "hey!"

People are becoming more and more phone centric. I would expect them to become a bigger spend even though technology always decreases in price, but more and more tech into the same package becomes more expensive.

285 Backup generators don't really make sense on cell towers for how seldom they might be needed.

Protracted outages of the entire network would be very rare, and the better procedure would be to bring in portable generators to power up select towers to establish the basic network.

Permanent installs on most towers would never be needed.

The vast majority of the land is practically worthless except for grazing cattle. They may fool around with the "wall" around the Cities but that constitutes less than 1% of the border.

338 About the Rush Limbaugh entry: I don't think the Dems will lose elections. I think enough people who voted Republican last time 'round will just stay home in 2016 because it doesn't seem to make any difference, and the roughly 49.9% of the country who vote Democrat will carry the election.

The roughly 49..9% who voted for Trump includes two sets of people: Those who faithfully vote Republican because they actually like the Republican Party or (like me) those who desire to stem the tide of progressivism even though they don't like the Stupid Party, and a second segment who didn't like Hillary or the Dem message in 2016 but often don't bother to vote.

The Dems also have another generation of millenials reaching voting age in 2018, freshly educated by the finest left-wing progressives in our institutes of lower learning. Add them to the second set of people who will stay home in 2018 the House and Senate flip and that will be the end of the game.

But hey, how about them <insert sports team name here>?

342 I'm not Catholic so my opinion doesn't count, but I like nuns to look like nuns, like the lady in today's graphic. Clearly the traditional habit isn't slowing her down any if she's using a chainsaw, and I suspect there are more good associations with the uniform than bad for outsiders.

So, definitely NOT a first world problem then?

Third-world countries tend to be MORE cellular, since the infrastructure of land lines is a lot more to build and maintain than scattered towers.

Surprised they didn't use the tried and proven technique of decapitation, but rather chose that new-fangled electricity thing!

345 The apps that most people use the PC for can easily be done with a handheld device, GPS, email, browsing etc. Most people aren't programming or running Cloud VMs.

It has always bothered me that our VPs had the very latest and most powerful PCs to check their email and play solitaire.

Ha! My octogenarian parents just converted from flip phones to iphones. Started one of their big road trips last week. They set up a group text with us kids so we know where they are from day to day. Except, being who they are (hint: they still volunteer at the science museum a memorize a 3ft stack of books for each visiting exhibit) they are blasting out detailed texts about whatever they're doing/seeing. So, not just "Hey, we're at Devil's Peak!" + photo, we get in-depth description of what they saw/did and historical background. I love it!

Exactly. Also it's a way around the "more votes cast than registered voters". That particular party plumps up the number of registered voters and then has cover for their fraudulent votes. And if discovered, it's the sucker whose identity was stolen who is on the hook.

I'm pretty sure that about 80% of the awesomeness that was The Man Show came from Adam Carolla.

356 290 So back in the day I decided to be an Apple user...Windows just sucked, and in a lot of applications it still does. I "get" OS X and it works for me. As a consequence I decided to go the iPhone route as well.

I'm now trying to figure out just what compelling purpose there is to get a $1,200 iPhone. I use a 7+ and I thought that was extravagant when I bought it.

What kind of bugs me is that Apple seems to be on a path to let the Mac die in favor of mobile devices. And that's just - bothersome.

Well see they're limping their iPhone X but they are also releasing an iPhone 8 which is just a modest improvement over the 7. About the only feature I saw that would have me interested in an upgrade is that it has the wireless charge feature so you can just set it on the charging pad instead of plugging it in.

But really I think I'll wait.

358 I discounted the anecdotal evidence of how much the millennial voter generation hates Hillary Clinton, and has come to hate her, in part because of the long campaign to discredit her, because of the primary - for lots of reasons. And also because the Russian effort was successful. A lot of the information they put out that was anti-Hillary Clinton was designed to work on the sort of Berniecrat, the marginal Democratic leaner, and on the young voter. And it did work on a lot of people. And as part of my job, I have to be dumb as a rock. So it just never occurred to me she could lose those three states.

She really is dumb. That isn't an insult. She's actually stupid.

360 DHS afraid that building the wall will bring large scale protests

Not if Soros and his ilk are in prison. Who financed the protests in the 60's? The Soviet Union. They're gone today. The only possible replacement is China - but you know if the Billionaires aren't financing it - China is the only possible source.

362 The real question here, is how did Adam Carolla go all those years without beating the fuck out of Jimmy Kimmel? Alternatively, do you think that Carolla beat the fuck out of Kimmel every day and that's how he was able to bear that particular hardship.
