Except for one thing: the rollout of Hillary Clinton’s next book right after Labor Day. Clinton has promised to “let my guard down” in the book, "What Happened," explaining her shocking loss to Trump in November. She has already offered up several explanations, blaming Russian interference, former FBI director James Comey, and misogyny, while also acknowledging tactical errors by her campaign. Many Washington Democrats, though unwilling to criticize her in public, wish she’d "move on," as Senator Al Franken has put it. They fear that her complaints help Trump make his case that the controversies surrounding him flow from the Democrats’ bitterness about their 2016 loss.That's silly. I'm sure Hillary Clinton, a strong and stable woman, will not just be recounting her litany of excuses in print form.
The gist of her message next month, based on her public statements and accounts of private conversations from people who’ve talked to her, will be: I accept the blame for what happened, but the bigger problems were Russian meddling, Comey’s on-again, off-again handling of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s probe of her private email server, the Democratic Party, and maybe even some of her own campaign staffers.Ah. WaPo and the Times are exposed for actively soliciting leaks, some for classified material.
Some Obamans get indicted for leaking classified material.
DWS gets exposed in a huge scandal tied in with Arwan.
Loretta Lynch and Comey get exposed for tanking the Hillary investigation.
This may take a year to play out. I can't wait. Note that Mueller not coming up with anything big plays to Trump's advantage. If it plays the way I hope it will have momentous consequences for how the 2018 mid-terms play out.

I can't see any scenario where the Dems gain ground in 2018. At best they stay even with the current state of affairs. The problem is that in 2018 who the hell wants to go vote for anyone, unless they are specifically campaigning on supporting Trump's agenda?
This is where I think the GOPe is wish casting. They think that "comity" will win them elections because people are turned off by Trump's personal style. They miss that people don't give a damn about his style, and want his agenda implemented.
Bold prediction, if Trump carries through a shuts down the government, he will come out of it with higher stature. Congress (both R and D) will be the ones blamed.

Now Trump is bashing Mitch around in public a bit, which is also encouraging. But most people - incl. crucially most of the GOP "base" - are in "normal" mode, and simply can't conceive of radical change when it takes the form of dumping incumbents.

The place where Rambler was based, which eventually got taken over by Jeep-Chrysler, is now a big vacant lot. People want to work. When I was the Air Force, we had "Reserve Weekends" which was when random ANG and AFR units would come to base to work alongside and train with us. We dreaded these, because a LOT of those units were very poorly run. Some were better, some worse, but mostly we saw varying degrees of badly organized, poorly trained, lazy and over all screwed up. You could look forward to 48 hours of babysitting, doing work over, rushing around fixing messes and trying not to let them kill themselves.
Except one, and I remember them still because of how good they were. The ANG unit out of Newburgh NY. Those guys were sharp, ate up motivated and knew their stuff. We loved when they came to visit. We could practically take the weekend off, they could almost run the port without us. Good group of guys too.
This was a long time ago now but I hope they're still keeping that up.

I'm not sure what you mean. Ryan pledged to return the House to regular order and pass individual spending bills created at the committee level instead of doing a CR cram down from the top and that's what he's done.
They have passed some of the spending bills already including the military which includes the funding for the wall. They probably would have passed all 12 by now but there is still a fight between moderates and conservatives over the size of spending cuts in domestic programs.
Individual spending bills take longer than a CR but this is what most of us wanted. I reserve my anger and disgust for those Republicans who won't cut spending but to each his or her own.

I think with all the other temples and obviously the Tabernacle we have records of the moment when His glory fell and filled the place. Clearly we jump over in the inter testamental period to just after the temple has been completed. But I imagine it's safe to assume that Herods temple never got filled with the Glory.
And almost had a statue of Zeus installed. I think the results there would have been popcorn worthy.

When I was Marine Reserves, we got shipped to Camp Pendleton to set up a bulk fuel farm. The regulars were assigned to be aggressors and were supposed to overrun us. They kept failing. One night, one o the other reserve units followed the aggressors back to their camp, and shot the shit out of them (blanks). They followed up this performance by stealing and hiding one of their jeeps. Their commanding officers' jeep.
They finally 'won' by rolling in tanks (M-60s). We had no anti-armor, so we contented ourselves with throwing crap at the butterbars riding in the tank cupolas.
