Ugly All the Way Down

You know who's really ugly? Whoopi Goldberg. I just happened to see a short clip of the View and I don't remember her being quite that ugly. She looks like she's partially bald and what's left of her stringy, matted hair gives her an uncanny resemblance to the alien in the 'Predator' movies.

Goldberg was never a beauty, but years ago, when she was playing Guinan on ST:TNG, she wasn't bad looking. I mean, she was attractive enough that Ted Danson bedded her. So what happened?

It is my belief that progressive politics makes you ugly. That is, more consistently you adhere to progressive ideology, which by its very nature is anti-reality, anti-beauty, and anti-life, the uglier you get. Because, in engineering terms, human beings were never designed to function the way progressivism demands. Even though we have a great deal of built-in resiliency, nevertheless the more progressive you are, the more out-of-tolerance your whole self is operating, and if you keep it up, eventually you're going to get deformations, malfunctions and breakdowns, whether moral, intellectual, spiritual, or even physical.

The ugliness and deformation starts on the inside, and as the years go by, it eventually works its way to the outside.

I believe that SJWs and crybullies, as an aggregate, have a greater inclination toward depression and other forms of mental illness than conservatives do. Not that conservatives are free of mental illness, but the more firmly you believe in your heart and mind that there are 83 genders, the higher the probability that you have either Zoloft, Xanax or Risperdal in your medicine cabinet.

The progressive starts out with "the personal is political". Great googly moogly, how f*ed up is that? If there's no distinction between the two, there's no stopping you from believing that your personal preferences and idiosyncrasies should be national policy. Again, how f*ed up is that?

Here's a comment from the book thread I thought was interesting:

I'm noticing more and more, when I'm out and about in a large crowd, that there are more "Pat's" in the world these days, if you know what I mean.

People whose gender cannot be easily determined from a first or even a second look. And none of these people are hotties, either male or female. Lots and lots of out of shape, saggy and baggy, young to old folks. And the expressions on their faces are not happy or joyful now that they have what they want. They just look...sad, with a bit of what-are-you-lookin-at thrown in.

Why dress like an adult in a suit and tie, or a fitted suit/dress? Why shave/trim your beard, comb your hair, or set it in a fashionable style?

Adult clothing also accentuates the sex characteristics, which is why it's so scary.

I have always considered it a pity that Mussolini's works are ignored. He was a far more important thinker than Hitler.

But then, it just wouldn't do for anyone to see how very close contemporary leftism is to real Fascism.

It has been my contention for a while that such individuals have never grown beyond the id stage that defines toddlerhood.

As PJ O'Rourke said, the freedom such people want is a toddler's freedom to put things in their mouth with no consequences and not the adult freedom where rights come with the responsibility to deal with the consequences of your choices.

When Vogue published an airbrushed, primped photo of DWS all made up and coiffed and with her ass slimmed by photoshop, she didn't objectively look half-bad. She *chooses* to wear mayo encrusted hair as her normal look.

Really, Hillary too, under the same conditions. Hell, some supermodels ain't all that when the makeup and glamor wear is off. And with botox and plastic surgery, wusi*not*wyg. A guy in South Korea sued his wife for false advertising as she had extensive face work done prior to them meeting. The baby, was, well, ugly. Looked like the unmodded mom.

But she is mostly unhappy and sees patriarchy, good old boys club etc where it does not exist; plus laments that her mom is not the typical 50s mom who cooks and talks mostly about her kids' accomplishments (she doesn't phrase it like that of course but it comes down to it)

I don't fully understand it, but it's common enough to be a cliche or a trope. Girly-girl and bull dyke.

Part of it, most women don't really know how to get another woman off. Might be a confidence thing. But bull dykes? They know what they want and how to get it. So you get a pretty girl who kinda-sorta thinks she might be gay, but none of her friends can do more than kiss and stuff. Then she meets an aggressive bull dyke who has male mannerisms and confidence and she makes her cum like nobody else ever has before.

And then there's the whole bonding over the forbidden part.

When she opens herself to life (with Anne's urging) and becomes interested in people she becomes more attractive. Probably also the more one concentrates on the blessings in on's life-or the things you're grateful for the more attractive you become. It doesn't mean you'll turn into swan physically speaking. It means you'll more likely radiate some warmth and joy which always improves one's appearance. 159 I don't get the connection between lesbian and chunky and unattractive.I mean, women have eyes, too, and are visual creatures...
Posted by: vivi at August 20, 2017 01:52 PM (11H2y)

My theory is that unattractiveness is a sign of mental illness. You don't have to be a supermodel, but happy, well-adjusted people will generally make the effort to wear properly fitting clothes that make them look nice, groom themselves, and watch their health. When people stop doing this, it's a sign of underlying issues. The lesbian connection is, IMHO, that a lot of these behaviors (including lesbian relationships) are because they want to avoid addressing their underlying issues.

It's also why progressives turn out so ugly. Progressivism doesn't make them unattractive, they're unattractive because they have other mental issues that also draw them to progressivism.

160 Also, our initial perceptions of people and their mood/attitude is also influenced by the shape of their mouth and face. The Mooch is a classic example of resting bitch face, though she's got the chops to back it up.

Down in the mouth is a phrase used to describe someone who looks or sounds despondent or melancholy.

A very good friend of mine has a 'happy face'; he always looks like he is slightly smiling, and ready to burst into a shit eating grin. But I've been drunk with him many times, and he has his share + of melancholy.

210 "And I still can't get a straight answer. Did Fields plow his car into a 'crowd' or the back of another car?"

Both, really. A possible interpretation of events:

It looks like Fields was expecting for people to safely scatter out of the way of his oncoming vehicle. That's the way it had worked for him further up the street. There's photo evidence of people doing this.

Thing is, up the street, the density of people on foot was low.

Further down the street, at the intersection, the density of people on foot went way up. There was a huge crowded bolus of counterdemonstrators that had just flowed around the corner. Surrounding two cars and preventing them from moving.

Fields didn't realize what he was driving into. He couldn't see the stopped cars beyond the people in front of him, and he also didn't realize that the crowd there became much more dense beyond its outer rows.

So suddenly, instead of people running and jumping out of the way of his car, as previously, Fields now had people *trying* to get out of the way of his car but unable to do so because there wasn't enough room for them to move quickly.

Also, those deeper in the crowd simply might not have seen him coming, with their own sight lines blocked by those in the outer layers of the crowd.

Fields panic brakes (again backed up by photo evidence) but too late.

His car runs into a couple of those people who couldn't move or didn't see it coming, and then hits the back of one of the stopped cars at the intersection. Starting the chain reaction billard-table collision that killed Heather Heyer.

His car is physically attacked at once, and Fields reverses to get away from those attackers, running over several more people as he does so.

Note that there's a purported eyewitness who says that Fields, after the initial collision with crowd and car, reversed and then "went in again". There's absolutely no evidence to support this claim. There's continuous post-impact video showing otherwise. But it's being repeated nevertheless.

Never really known a lesbian, but I'd guess although physically similar to a guy, and though sporting a dildo, there is still something qualitatively different about their personalities from a real man. You know the stereotypes about different demographics of women: asians are docile, hispanics are "hot blooded", africans are aggressive. These characteristics can be a turn off/on for certain people, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were some subtle difference between real men and bulldykes.

245 @booknlass,

I agree with you. Depression and panic attacks are an integral part of my personality. They are just as much a part of me as the fact that I have two arms and two legs.

However, much of the battle is spiritual. I am a man who has depression and panic attacks, not some sort of depressed being who happens to be a man.

I’m sure you know that many, many great figures throughout history have suffered from depression or worse. Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln would not have been the men they were without depression.

Liberals have pity parties; we allow depression and panic attacks to shape our characters.

I've taken to a spreadsheet model for making important decisions by listing all the pluses and minuses of making that decision one way or the other and assigning 'weights' to each and every variable involved.

Then, in the end, thrown my hands up in the air when the final score is really *too* close to call. If it's that close - then I do nothing.

So, I'm not pessimistic or optimistic afterwards. Or depressed. The science is settled.

Pauline Kael, the late New Yorker movie critic, wasn't much impressed with Streep. Wrote something once about how she was too "studied" and that one could never remember or envision her physical body--it didn't seem connected to her somehow.

311 This is the enigma of a lot of lesbian fems. They're
attractive enough to have an actual male, but for a partner they choose
a woman who looks and acts like a guy (and usually, a really ugly one).

If this is what they want, why not find a genuine guy?

Posted by: Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman at August 20, 2017 02:20 PM (c8EhQ)

This is indeed a mystery. They "hate" men, but pleasure each other
by strapping on ( an often over-sized) replica of the very "thing" that
makes a man a "man."

Wtf?

Gay guts don't wrap a replica of a vagina around their waists and fuck THAT.

I was driving behind another death-spewing, evil internal combustion engine powered vehicle who slowed on a narrow two lane black top to pass and avoid killing Fatty Patty saving the Erf by riding a bicycle. The evil driver was rewarded for his concern by being flipped off by Fatty Patty. When I passed it, I got the same. I guess we're all supposed to live life at 10 mph.

Take a twenty five year old "activist", who still lives at his parents' home, rather than working enough to have his own place, is he more likely to abuse drugs? People who abuse drugs age poorly.

331 Yes, torque, I lived in DC at the time. And only the intervention of Greatest Generation folks, rightly outraged at the distortion and lies of the original exhibit, saved the day.

How much the racist barbarian totalitarians (WTF is this "left" nonsense, anyway?) have advanced, or how much conditions have evolved to their advantage, was illustrated by the (still unbelievable) outrage of blocking Honor Flight octogenarians from the WWII memorial during the ridiculous "shutdown" kabuki.

That Obama and his band of idiot arsonists could get away with this, politically - that virtually nobody even raised an objection - still makes it hard to believe something like Trump is possible. And with the Confederate monument/memorial jihad, we're seeing that erasing and distorting history is still a top priority of the barbarians.

I've known 3 lesbians. I don't know anything about sexual abuse, but regarding their appearance?
They wear what a friend of mine refers to as "the uniform".
They are overweight. They have shapeless haircuts and their hair is an uninteresting shade of brown.
They wear loose-fitting, shapeless docker type pants, cotton, button down shirts, and sensible shoes. They wear no make-up. It really does look like they want to be unattractive to men.

The gay men that I know, on the other hand, fit the Seinfeld description. They aren't as flamboyant as the people you see in the media. They dress very nicely and are well groomed.

I suspect that, generally, there is a difference in why men are gay, and women are gay.

Yes, I think this is the clearest evidence that he didn't drive into the crowd *in order* to run people down.

Also: an Antifa guy with a flag/bat steps out and hits his car in the back bumper, right before he plows into the crowd. How fast could he have been going at that point? I figure Fields must have come almost to a stop, for it to have been possible for the guy to step out and whack him. And then he probably guns it after the guy hits his car.

Finally: I couldn't find it to link, but somebody has that photo showing him with his brake lights on, but they've captioned it something like "Fields accelerates toward a crowd of protestors."

watching "Monster" with Theron playing the abused female who turned serial killer, I identified with her rage. Remember, what made her kill her first victim? the john wanted her to call him 'Daddy.'

not that my father abused me. he didn't. but other men did.

Chastity already wrote a memoir and confesses that her mom's lesbian friend "Joan" (pseudonym used in the book to protect the guilty) "seduced" her when she was 11. When Cher found out about it, her reported response was that it was "a good life experience" for her daughter. There's another difference. Luke reads very 'liberal'. But it never suggests that people try to implement a kind of Communist regime over all of Judea. Its principles are always exhortations aimed at the individual. Even in the communalism in Acts there is nothing coercive about it. As long as your friends dedicate their time and resources to causes they feel passionate about, more power to them.

516 As people are deciding whether they will take down statues (The GA doofus from VA wants statues of Lee to come down. Duke University in NC has already done so, I believe) I was reminded of this quote by Robert E. Lee, He was once asked his opinion of a fellow officer who was widely known as one of Lee's greatest detractors. The General responded that he thought the man a very fine officer. "But, General," his questioner asked, quite perplexed, "I guess you don't know what's he been saying about you." "Oh, yes, I do," replied Lee. "But I was asked my opinion of him, not his opinion of me."

Posted by: gNewt at August 20, 2017 03:08 PM (uoaXf)

The old saw "money can't buy you happiness, but with money you can choose your own misery" has more than an ounce of truth to it.

I've always thought that the most important advantage of money is choice. It opens up multiple options in life. The most soul-destroying part of being poor is the thought that you can't pull yourself out of the death spiral because you only have a small number of options, all of which are oriented towards survival rather than building a better life.

540 I was reminded of this quote by Robert E.

Quite apart from any military glory, Lee was a great man (although I doubt he would agree). It sickens me to see these little weasels denigrate him.

553 I enjoyed the book 'Confederacy of Dunces' immensely. Made me laugh out loud numerous times. It was published 11 years after the author committed suicide, and it won the Pulitzer for fiction in 1981.
The author's mother sent her dead son's typewritten manuscript to writer Walker Percy and asked him to read it and help get it published; Percy was not able to put down the manuscript.
Sadly, I have given copies of the book (I've loaned mine a few times) to others I thought might enjoy it, and it was rejected most of the time with comments about how loathsome it was.
After these many years, I look around to see that none of the persons who rejected that novel are now within my small circle of close and trusted friends....
As Walker Percy wrote in the book's forward, the novel is a commedia, and a Falstaffian commedia at that.
Incredibly detailed and nuanced characters; my personal favorite was Jones, the gloriously unenthusiastic janitor at the Night O' Joy bar/strip joint. Best lines from a bealeagured black character since Mammy in the movie version of 'Gone With the Wind.'

13 KILLED BY JIHADIST-DRIVEN VAN IN BARCELONA; MOBS TEAR DOWN ISLAMIC MONUMENTS

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a terror attack on Wednesday in Barcelona that involved a jihadist plowing his van into crowds of tourists, killing at least 13 and injuring over 100.

Throughout Spain and the rest of the West, mobs took to the streets denouncing Islamic supremacy, shaming Spain for its 700-year rule at the hands of Muslims, and demanding the removal of Spain's countless public monuments devoted to honoring Islamic history.

Just kidding. The only acceptable protest in the West these days involves open self-flagellating displays of cultural and demographic suicide.

560 " For me, the depression seems to be part of my personality.
I'm wondering if it has to do with intelligence. Heightened
awareness is part of a gifted IQ, which means perspicacity of the
entire system, which includes a lot of bad.

oooo baby baby it's a wide world.

Posted by: booknlass

interesting ... important, I think, to separate real (clinical?) depression from awareness and staying in reality.

I could have stayed in several places (over the years, life choices) to just have a good time, all was well. Choosing to "fight the good fight", so to speak, may mean less time just enjoying the opera, or drinking with friends at every festival every weekend, or whatever simple pleasure Americans deserve to simply enjoy, without worries that the NWO will soon crash their 401K, or imported third worlders will soon crash that retirement plan.

But the few that choose the good fight, face the evils head on and indeed there is reason for some sorrow at what is sold off by the evil ones ... but that makes the "good fight" fully worthy. Maybe it is the intelligent that see this battle and engage more fully, but the "average deplorable" seems capable of winning on the cultural war level and engaging as in a contest.

Fighting with honor (General Lee comparisons?) is important, and trust in some higher power to in the end be the judge ... seems like a good dynamic.

Or ... Be all you can be ... even if that is not in the Army. ha

It can be hard, when you don't understand and acknowledge the hidden forces at work in our lives and fortunes.

Fortunately, help is at hand.

Our friends at the Your Tango site have helpfully published an article entitled "Guys, Here's Why You Can't Get A Girlfriend, Based On Your Zodiac Sign"

Now I admit, I was, at first, puzzled, wondering what small rigid-inflatable boats apparently adorned with at least one sign had to do with lacking a girlfriend. However, it appears the context is other than that.

As for what's wrong with you-You have had a lot of very difficult things happen over a long period of time and so that is all affecting your view of yourself. Also, depression crushes one's self esteem. You've certainly been told any number of times that you are smart, caring and funny-and I imagine there are at least four other people who share your last name who feel that you are worthwhile as well as people IRL. A former secretary of mine got divorced when she discovered that her husband was banging anything he could get his hands on. She described to me her fee!ings of humiliation when out in public. She felt everyone knew she was the one being cheated on. Of course, it wasn't true that everyone knew or that everyone cared. Most people are just trying to get by. It is cold comfort but true that imagining that others are concerning themselves with the cut of your jib is a form of self involvement. There is a certain freedom in relying upon the apathy of strangers.

Been dabbling in "The Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius.
He made a fantastic point about how "now" is really the only point in your life when you can make a difference. The past is over and fixed in time for good or ill, the future is a veiled shadow impossible to see clearly (and may not exist for you personally), but NOW is the time you can actually chose to act with honor and do so, or you can be a progressive!

582 One of the few times Lee commented publicly on his military leadership concerned perhaps his greatest victory, Chancellorsville. The Confederates won a great victory despite being massively outnumbered by breaking a cardinal rule by splitting their forces in the face of a superior enemy. Stonewall Jackson led a flanking march and a flank attack on Hooker's right that created panic in the Army of the Potomac and in Hooker's mind. Jackson was mortally wounded by friendly fire immediately after the attack.

After the war, an article was written giving credit for the radical plan and victory to Jackson implying that he had acted without Lee's knowledge or permission. Lee wrote a rebuttal not to claim credit but to dispel the inference that Jackson was so poor a soldier as to act without or contrary to orders.

yeah ... go with the (PC) flow is really not self reliance, free will ... good parents raise their kids on principle and build the child's independent will to make good choices, and to adjust after consequences.

PC is "join our tribe and we will crush the 'other' that fights us"

But much of life is indeed tribal .. not all bad, but be able/willing to join the freedom/liberty "causcus". Recognize liberty versus dogma. Western Civ' is a complicated thing, cuz being purely tribal is easy.

The left wants to paint the Trump thing as purely tribal racism, when it is really liberty seekers tired of the tribal left, tired of the "DC Cartel".

But in the end, we choose our tribes ... but "we morons" choose the tribe that believes in liberty ... the founders ... free choice.

Complicated business. The "Deceiver" has an imitation for every good thing. And a MSM to promote it, before the truth gets its pants on.

What is wrong with you? You sound depressed...maybe clinically. You need some medicine. The longer you go without, the worse it is gonna get. You are spiraling.

Be a best friend to yourself & get some medicine. It doesn't mean you will need to be on it forever, but at least give your brain a chance to recover from whatever awful things have happened to you.

This is your brain's cry for help. It can't disconnect from your body and take itself to the doctors. If I knew you, I'd come over & open a can of whoop ass on you. Luckily, you are safe. :-) I see people with knowledge reaching out to you.

Would you let a friend or relative be in the kind of pain you are in & do nothing to help? Then do the same for yourself.
