More Noos. Today is Sunday, August 20, 2017. On this day in 1962 the NS Savannah, the world's first nuclear-powered civilian ship, embarked on its maiden voyage. The Savannah was decommissioned in 1971 as it was simply too expensive to operate at a profit.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at August 20, 2017 06:02 AM (mpXpK) Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into our side, chief. It was comin' back, from the island of Tinian to Laytee, just delivered the bomb. The Hiroshima bomb. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in twelve minutes. Didn't see the first shark for about a half an hour. Tiger. Thirteen footer. You know how you know that when you're in the water, chief? You tell by lookin' from the dorsal to the tail. What we didn't know... was our bomb mission had been so secret, no distress signal had been sent. Huh huh. They didn't even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, chief. The sharks come cruisin'. So we formed ourselves into tight groups. You know it's... kinda like ol' squares in battle like a, you see on a calendar, like the battle of Waterloo. And the idea was, the shark comes to the nearest man and that man, he'd start poundin' and hollerin' and screamin' and sometimes the shark would go away. Sometimes he wouldn't go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into you. Right into your eyes. You know the thing about a shark, he's got...lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin' and the ocean turns red and spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin' they all come in and rip you to pieces. Posted by: Quint at August 20, 2017 06:33 AM (EgwCt) 28
Y'know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men! I don't know how many sharks, maybe a thousand! I don't know how many men, they averaged six an hour. On Thursday mornin' chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Herbie Robinson from Cleveland. Baseball player, boson's mate. I thought he was asleep, reached over to wake him up. Bobbed up and down in the water, just like a kinda top. Up ended. Well... he'd been bitten in half below the waist. Noon the fifth day, Mr. Hooper, a Lockheed Ventura saw us, he swung in low and he saw us. He's a young pilot, a lot younger than Mr. Hooper, anyway he saw us and come in low. And three hours later a big fat PBY comes down and start to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened? Waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went in the water, three hundred and sixteen men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.

On his social media, he sez he's a Moor, which were historically a group of black African muslims, and has been adopted/adapted by extremist American blacks that hate whites and especially cops. The Dallas (or was it the Baton Rouge?) cop killer also described himself as a Moor. The FL dude is actually named something like Everett Gorden, so the muzzie moniker is an adopted name. Oh, and one of the two cops shot was black. Both are/were former Marines. Sad. Gee, you think the Moors should be classified as a domestic terrorist organization? Maybe even a hate group? Jim Carr: Hi, Jim Carr again. Denis, I know that some in our audience don't know the finer points of hockey. Could you tell them, for example, what is icing? Denis Lemieux: Well, um, icing happen when the puck come down, bang you know, before the other guys you know. Nobody there, you know. My arm go comme ça then the game stop then start up. Jim Carr: I see. What is high-sticking? Denis Lemieux: High-sticking happen when the guy take the stick, you know, and he go like that [high-sticks Jim Carr] Denis Lemieux: you know. You don't do that. Jim Carr: You don't do that? Denis Lemieux: Oh no, never, never. Jim Carr: Why not? Denis Lemieux: Against the rules. You know, you're stupid when you do that. Just some English pig with no brains, you know. Jim Carr: Uh, what is slashing? Denis Lemieux: Slashing is um, like that [demonstrates on Jim Carr] Denis Lemieux: you know. Jim Carr: Mm-hmm. And there's a penalty for that? Denis Lemieux: Yeah and for the trip also, you know like that [demonstrates] Denis Lemieux: . And for hook like this [demonstrates] Denis Lemieux: . And for spear, you know, like that. [demonstrates] Denis Lemieux: You do that, you go to the box, you know. Two minutes, by yourself, you know and you feel shame, you know. And then you get free. Reading CdrSalamander's post about the USS Fitzgerald reminded me of another destroyer collision.
June 1969 the destroyer USS Frank E. Evans was operating at night in the South China Sea with the Aussie carrier HMAS Melbourne. The Evans was changing her position, and due to a number of errors by the bridge watch crossed in front of the Melbourne. The carrier hit the Evans amidships at the forward fireroom cutting her in half. The forward half sank in about 5 minutes taking 73 crew with it. The after half, due to outstanding damage control, stayed afloat. Posted by: JackS at August 20, 2017 08:26 AM (DknNB) 148

good morning good folks
Lincoln said he would leave slavery if it would win the war faster he had said he couldn't change slavery, but you damn well better collect those taxes/tariffs or ... WAR. And after the war, they didn't want the freed slaves, and many were left to die. West Point Lee was against slavery, but fought for Virginia. Given all the atrocities committed by Sherman and others, some argue Lee and others at least reduced the burning and raping from the "Northern aggressors". And the taxes were not fair, they were almost unanimously opposed by the South, including those that didn't have slaves. Tariffs protected northern production but not the southern agriculture. At least that is part of the whole story ... but the war crimes of Lincoln/Sherman are erased, though in time their statues must come down also, with Washington's. ... at least Yankee crimes are erased since the Democrat KKK lost power, and LBJ decided to control the black population and their vote by other methods. Then Dems decided to include all foreign Hispanics in their list of those whitey has oppressed, along with every other victim group they can dream up. emarotta.com/protective-tariffs-the-primary-cause-of-the-civil-war/ Posted by: illiniwek at August 20, 2017 08:42 AM (veVl1) Posted by: original jake at August 20, 2017 08:42 AM (qHEw3) 176

While this may be offensive o our members of the Tribe, their position makes about as much sense as "Jews for Hitler". To the BLM, they are not black. They are targets. Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice at August 20, 2017 08:49 AM (J+eG2) 188
Lee probably would have preferred no war, but slavery was ending, and if it was allowed to wind down slowly, it would have been better for the nation. But slave owners and their politicians had the power to push it to the limit. So Lee chose to protect "his own", he didn't have the choice against war.
Those that demanded war to protect their slavery don't deserve the statues, but Lee, Beauregard, Jackson I guess ... there is more to the story. But BLM murdering cops ... well that is righteous of course. Or genocide of ten million Ukrainians ... the NY Times still hasn't apologized for covering that up. NWO/establishment groups. Pretty clear the Bush family (NWO/CIA to the max) didn't finance any of the operation but they are good with its goals if not its means. Obama involvement is a given. I think Hillary is too much a miser to add any money. Won't say Soros because I think Soros is dead and they are pretending he is alive so they won't have to give up control of his fortune. Like when they buried Osama at sea so everybody would be totally convinced Osama hadn't died years earlier. . . .Then there must be a soros body double because it just attended a three day meeting with other rich liberals to "resist" Trump. Because the Confederacy was racist whites and slavery and Islam is about peace, love, tolerance, diversity and inclusiveness and if you don't believe they'll kill you.
_______________________ And white supremacy is evil and wrong, but Islamic supremacy (which all muslims believe in, as the koran teaches them that muslims are superior to non-muslims, a/k/a infidels, and muslims have the right and the duty to subjugate and conquer and kill infidels) is totes okay. By getting rid of the confederate senators a whole slew of things northern business interest wanted happened. Norther route for the transcontinental railroad is a memorable one.
One could make the case that the Seceding of the South was orchestrated to accomplish Norther business interest plans. Similar to NWO business plans for the US of A today. Posted by: Mudd at August 20, 2017 08:54 AM (WAzyc) 194
I'm conflicted about the petition linked in the sidebar.
I favor designating Antifa as a terrorist group, but shouldn't that be determined based of their violent actions rather than based on how many Americans think they are terrorists? "What Colin Kaepernick did is try to bring awareness that this nation unfortunately has ignored for far too long," said NYPD Sgt. Edwin Raymond, an organizer of the rally, according to the Daily News. "And that's the issue of racism in America and policing in America. We decided to gather here today because of the way he's being railroaded for speaking the obvious truth." So what Sgt. Raymond is saying is that police, which he is one, are racist. She regularly posts things that seem to include the real accounts from way back. I use "Sherman" generically ... for what was done in burning and murder of citizens. War is hell ... Trump has made the point that "too bad Jackson wasn't around to fix it without war" or something like that. There are accounts of a lot of freed slaves dying after the war as well, under union control. Lee and other generals chose to defend their own, but the slave owners or probably Jefferson Davis don't deserve the statues I guess ... but Lincoln fought for the unfair tax revenue, admitted he didn't care about the slaves. Funny thing is the South was less racist than the North. Most of the atrocities against blacks in the south was due to the fact of what is required to hold a human being in slavery. Read about Roman Empire slavery. Fake news isn't a new phenomena. Anyone think blacks would be anymore welcome than Irish were as free men? Posted by: Mudd at August 20, 2017 09:00 AM (WAzyc) 201

Not sure why the prosecutor wouldn't believe in the death penalty. Doesn't she believe in antibiotics? This thing isn't human. It's just organic matter arranged into a toxic form, like a flesh eating bacteria or ebola virus. Just unmake it and turn it into something more useful, like fertilizer. I'll never forget seeing it the first time. Drive-in movie theater, ten minutes from the ocean. After seeing the movie my date and I walked along the beach. I didn't want to get within ten feet of the water. I didn't want to see the movie again for years. --- saw it 3 times in the theater. For #2 and #3 I stepped into the lobby when Hooper dove on Ben Gardner's boat in the dark. Why not? Soros looks like death-warmed-over in pictures. An email could be sent to anyone that would recognize the fake saying Soros was too ill to travel but this was too important to allow a cancellation so please play along. They could also say that Soros had taken a rejuvenation treatment and that if they give enough he might share it with them. Sarah Hoyt has a Darkship series with a scheme like this as part of the plot. Philip Jose Farmer used the coercion angle in his Doc Savage/Tarzan. I think of statues as scars or tattoos. Removing them causes pain and usually leaves a mark. Posted by: Mudd right. No one driving down Jeff Davis Parkway (new orleans) is thinking, "if only we had won the war we could have kept the slaves". The slavery was an ugly part but it was slowly going away. Today we still have massive organized crime that hurts individuals and society ... that ugly part manages to keep power even today, not to mention the too big to fail too big to jail crooks selling out the next generation. The human trafficking across the border is pretty ugly even today, yet Holder provided guns to the cartels, and Lynch covered up a couple billion in drug money laundering by HSBC. (no one jailed, just a fine on the shareholders). Clintons giving nuke tech to China (which leaked to Norks) was pretty ugly ... and the money/tech to Russia, the invasion of Europe enabled by taking out Ghadaffi ... real atrocities continue. But Trump mentions "Western Civilization" and the whole of media and the left condemns that as white supremacy. "They" really want to destroy US. The Dems have always been surreptitiously supported by communists intent on takeover, by brutal unions, by organized crime, by felons. Some Dems are even for MS-13 illegals retaining residence. Crazy times. Posted by: illiniwek at August 20, 2017 09:35 AM (veVl1) 222
