Serena Williams: I Can't Wait to Have My Baby to Discover What It's Like to be a "Real Woman"

As soon as she said this, people predicted the childless, sexually-confused militant cultist weirdos of the Transhuman Left would freak out.

That prediction was, get this, absolutely correct.

At virtually the same moment, Trump pulled back the curtain on the MFM, which lost them their other pulpit.

103 sunny-dee, best wishes to you.

As someone childless by choice and as someone who has never ever ever in her life wanted kids, I have no problem saying that whatever it is that's in women to make them want children is not in me. I'm the outlier and I'm fine with that.

I don't even comprehend why people claim babies smell good. They smell like, well, hmmm, how to put this is the way that makes me least look sociopathic, hmmm. Babies smell like bodily functions over which they have little control. They do not smell good. At all.

Does that make me less of a woman? I suppose that technically it does. It's a portion of womanhood that I, THANK YOU GOD, will never experience. So, no, I'm not a "real woman" if by that you mean I have experienced the full panoply of what it is to be woman. Such is life.

Does that make me some kind of morally inferior twat? Dude, on the list of my twattery, that's, like, 237,298th at best.

But-- they need to settle down eventually, right? Things ratchet up, eventually they settle. How long after, say, Nixon's resignation did things settle down? Or does it take Democrats being elected President to do that? (No, it's not worth it. Just like the effects of the economy and such being talked up do not outweigh the horrible things that actually happen more often in a D-Presidency. Just to be clear.)

157 Since we are discussing SJW women, what are the thoughts regarding Taylor Swift's current lawsuit trial.

Swift is being sued by a DJ who she accused of having "grabbed her ass" during a public photo shoot. She was between him and his wife when the three posed for a photo at some event in front of an advertising background. The DJ has said he did not grab her or lift her skirt or whatever she is claiming. She claims the photo proves it(it doesn't even remotely)

He is suing her for $3M dollars for defamation because after the event (she never said anything to him, didn't appear to be rattled, went on with a meet and greet, etc.) she later decided to start claiming this happened.

The DJ ended up getting fired, can't find another job, and most likely is receiving death threats from Swifts' twitter army.

Me thinks Taylor has some real issues with men. I'm not buying her story and hopefully the jury or trial judge won't either.

190 As someone childless by choice and as someone who has never ever ever in her life wanted kids, I have no problem saying that whatever it is that's in women to make them want children is not in me.

I was a lowly computer technician so I had no reason to need mental health services connected to my enlistment, When I had the balls to ask for help that did not involve PTSD the VA told me to go fly a kite. (I would not fit in, they simply could not help me) The VA is a one trick pony that fucks up even that one trick. The VA is beyond help at this point. They serve Vets badly and waste taxpayer dollars. VA neurologists finally sent me out of the VA for help when they saw I was not within their scope. The VA has been no help to me.

Yeah, that stuff is nasty on the lungs, and if it sits on the placenta in utero it can do some serious badness. But though it is sort of a clingy, tenacious dark green jello, like the slime in the Aliens movie, it doesn't stink (mirabile dictu!) and it spreads easily. None of the granular corn-and-peanut-butter-with-bits-of-broccoli that you get with Mum's poop. I'll take meconium any day, if its just an esthetic thing.

I haven't seen the movie yet so I'm going off the book version.

I liked the concept of how the zombies arose and I thought the underlying notion of the drive of the parasite to replicate however it could was interesting. But I don't know if the author was trying to play coy with the notion of free will or was just not quite talented enough of a writer to pull off what he (she? I don't remember which) was trying to say. The ending really called into question whether Melanie had ever made any choices for herself at all or if it was all the fungus taking control of her and pushing her along.

That's another work where the "bad guy" turns out to have been dead bang accurate on what was going on and what the consequences would be if the nice and kind and supposedly humane path was taken.

Mrs F had our second "natural". No drugs, no epidurals. Little dude was heart stressing at the contractions.

During one particular bad contraction, I was holding her hand and she put my thumb in her mouth and literally almost bit it off.

Well... bit it hard enough to draw blood anyway.

If the movie ending is like the book ending, then, yes it's bleak but what the author was trying for was this is the next stage of evolution and these are the new humans and you didn't adapt so you die.

I don't think the author quite pulled it off. I put it in the interesting failure category.

Now I am given to understand that Gemma Arterton is in the movie and oh yes please. She is in Byzantium which is ostensibly a vampire movie but is really about motherhood and the lengths to which a woman will go to save her child and the struggle of watching a child grow up, particularly when the child cannot actually age.

I quite like it but then again it's a Neil Jordan movie and I quite like his work.

Of course! I don't think it was intended to be an abortion-related statement, it's just that any time one wades into discussion of happiness about having a baby it touches all sorts of nerves, not just the ones for those who cannot have kids, but those who have chosen not to have kids - including those who made that choice after getting pregnant. It's more about what they may infer from her comment than what was actually said.

I'm reminded of my absolutely favorite Ambrose Bierce "Devil's Dictionary" definition, in this case for the word "telescope," which I can recite verbatim from memory:

telescope -- A device whose relation to the eye is like that of the telephone to the ear, enabling distant objects and people to seem nearer; but unlike the telephone, it comes unequipped with an alarm bell summoning one to the slaughter."

If Ambrose Bierce was alive today, he;d say the same about Twitter as he did about telephones: It only exists to bedevil us with otherwise distant bothersome opinions.

I just finished watching "Girl With All the Gifts" (the movie)! Last night!

Assessment:

Well-made, but yes, ultimately very anti-human -- sort of like a nihilist Avatar in that way.

And yes, Gemma Arterton is delicious -- worth it to watch just for her, is your a Gemma-head. (Though not as delicious as in Hansel and Gretel.)

The other actors are all quite talented though, especially Paddy Considine (as usual -- he's great).

What's interesting, and I'm ruining it for you just by saying this, is that you don't realize that it's a zombie movie for the first 40 minutes or so! You just think it's a mysterious sci-fi film -- the "zombie" aspect is revealed as the shocking denouement halfway through.

Rating: B.

Both my children were born by C-section, and in case you didn't know, at my end of the business in that room, the anesthetist is in charge. Everyone else doing what they're doing... down "there" has their own business, but on THIS side of the curtain, there's me, the gas doc, and my wife's head.

So the first time, the guy asked me if I wanted to get up and look. I did.

Weirdest thing to be witness to: Your wife's midsection cut open, and your bloody, gooey son sitting up inside.

Second time, the gasser did not give me the option. So my daughter was yanked out without either me or the wife seeing the blessed event happen.

Which is fine. My daughter was too close to death for comfort... which is to say, not close at all, but it sure as hell felt like it at the time.

I think this is more about the left pushing too far. In 1984, Big Brother tries to make Winston claim he is seeing however many fingers they want him to see...when they have imprisoned and are torturing him. The left is trying the same when they don't yet have that level of control.

Non-conservatives, that is.

YouTube has been actively messing with the videos of thoughtcrminals in all sorts of ways lately, including de-monetizing "controversial" videos, arbitrarily dropping paid subscribers with each new video loaded, and messing with search algorithms to make them less visible. I've had a lot of Euro-lefties tell me exactly that. They are bringing in these immigrants to work for their personal retirement.

I've often then asked why the hell they think the immigrants would agree to it and get this uncomprehending look for the lefties. I think the problem is that the left has spent so much time convincing themselves of their righteousness they can't even understand that what is good for them isn't necessarily good for everyone...

THIS! When I was a kid, my grandparents explained "Christian charity" included seeing people's actions and words in a good light, not just assuming the worst interpretation. But it's more dramatic and cruelly entertaining to see people as stupid or evil.

Plus, everything is filtered through me, me, me. For example, one of my childhood friends told me that during teacher training, they were told not to compliment a child's clothes, new hairstyle, neat penmanship, etc. because it might make another child feel bad. The instructor thought she was being flippant when she asked if it was okay to compliment their work, since kids perform differently.

I could SORT of understand because we grew up at a time when other kids had nicer, trendier clothes. But I was shocked the first time I complimented an adult's outfit and a co-worker got angry because 1) I never complimented HER clothes and 2) the wearer of the new outfit made more than us. Now sour grapes seems to be a daily exercise.
