Shock: John McCain More Popular With Democrats Than Republicans After Latest Back-Stab; Jeff Flake's Approval Rate Plummets

The Republican Party has been controlled by liberals for a very, very long time.

John McCain is enjoying high levels of approval from many voters -- just not those in his own party.

...

A new Quinnipiac poll showed 39% of Republican voters held a positive view of McCain and 49% held a negative view. By contrast, Democratic voters hold a 74% positive view of McCain compared to 18% negative, for a plus-56 net rating.

Meanwhile, Jeff Fake, who's been auditioning to join the Democrat Party and #TheResistance, sees his approval rate plummet in a new PPP poll.

Yes, it's PPP, and yes, they're unreliable. Still -- this is a big shift: He's now at 18% approval, 63% disapproval.

A disaster, one might say. Terrible!

Even the more reliable Morning Consult puts him in dangerous waters, and that was before he began sending in audition tapes to be Keith Olbermann's sidekick:

Morning Consult polled Arizona from early April to mid-June and found Flake at 36/42 approval overall and 51/35 among Republicans.

Sad! And that invites -- begs -- a primary challenger.

28 McCain is a twisted man. Driven by both envy as well as a pretty deep seated need to be loved.

It is kind of bizarre when you look at the presidential candidates of the past several decades. I have said several times that I am kind of disturbed by the glazed eyes of those who desperately want to be president. You can see in them that there is nothing else there. Gore, Hillary!, McCain. As Dennis Miller said, they have the "Glazed over, Prophets of the Caribbean look."

Oddly, Bush, Trump and even Obama did not seem to have that. Obama because he was more in love with himself than the idea of the presidency.

These farking cockholsters will just talk real conservative and throw up commercials talking about how they will repeal Obamacare and build a wall, and then once the primary is over, they will start talking about "repeal and replace" and "immigration reform" and then after the general election, "fuck you GOP voters, I lurve me some big government Obamacare and you are racists for not opening the borders to anyone that wants to come in".

From the Federalists vs. the Anti-Federalists, history shows we have always been a two-party system. :-(

3rd Parties are either (1) co-opted and absorbed, or (2) fizzle out when their Cult Of Personality leader passes.

Sure the Whigs imploded, upon which the Republican's immediately emerged as Party #2, but that was a long long time ago, in a time when Senators were not directly elected and the voting franchise was much more restricted.

The author's idea sounds like something discussed between Gruber and the other authoritarian fantasists with dumb-shit Hill staffers, before they said "nah, let's just dump everything into a 2,000 page bill and cram it down the country's throat."

Tax credits and tax shenanigans to game the idiotic CBO "estimates", because yeah right incumbents will just get swept from power due to CBO estimates relating to a program whose unpopularity transformed the political landscape since it was enacted. F***ing unbelievable.

Actually the Brewster story kind of reminds me of the play "All My Sons." They really bamboozled Uncle Sam and in time of war no less. A sad tale.

My comments from the day before yesterday I believe summed it up. You could sense that he knows that there is no more a two party system yet he still clung desperately to the quaint notion that the GOP still differed from the Democrats. He even contradicted himself by saying something like, they'll stick to their principles except on matters that threaten the Deep State. Well, Rush old boy, hate to break it to you but the alleged traditional GOP principles are by nature anti-Deep State. So get with the program, dude. Love you, but really.

246 163"""" GTFYH .. Sure, just give the left the country on a plater and once they have that they'll want whatever you have next

Why not become more like the left, organized and up for a fight instead taking your toys and going home.. But probably a troll anyways.

Heh. I am reminded of a debate I had with a "Peak Oil" nutter.

I explained economics has caused searches for new sources and improved extraction methods, and how proven reserves have increased and are still increasing, but he admantly said he did not care, as it would one day happen.

To which I could only reply, "Peak Solar."

If something is not going to happen in our lifetimes, we should not worry about it, or worry about much more pressing problems.

252 Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that if McCain was to switch to the Democratic side (officially), the Governor of Arizona would have to appoint a Democrat to take his place until elections take place.

Not good.

253 My comments from the day before yesterday I believe summed it up.

You need to listen more becuase he acquiesced to the uniparty idea as far back as 2015. He does still think the repub party has to be wrested from the establishment and that a third party is a bad idea right now.

I agree.

254 Occurs to me that the stock market and Joe Biden have something in common. Impeachment insurance.

Don't even lowlife scum like Schemer realize that if they destroy Trump, they destroy the savings of whatever percentage of Americans who save? Don't they comprehend what we will DO to anyone who does that? Maybe it's time for the Dems to call a party-wide retreat somewhere remote, and for whoever among them still has several functioning neurons to give "the talk" about what could happen to all of them if they "win".

Third party is a whole other issue. My observation was that he was conflicted about the idea of the uniparty or that he was trying not to openly concede it on the air. I think even with him, who is an eternal optimist, the pretense has fallen.

256 @194: "It's hard to believe that it actually won the competition against
the F4F Wildcat. But the Finns made good use of them against the
Soviets."

The Buffalo actually was a good *pre-war* fighter. Against its contemporaries, it did well (Finns vs. Russians being a good example). It just had the bad luck of going up against a newer generation of fighters once the war started.

257 Well, as far as Murtha goes...I mentioned the similarity to McCain based on self-importance and worthlessness as a result.

Murtha used to set up shop on the Floor and basically do deals all day for earmarks that he used to solidify his importance. In his home district he set up an very costly airport with tax payer money, named it after himself, and it was used by a whopping total of 500 people for the entire year.

Then there was ABSCAM...

My only real point is that John McCain doesn't give a flying f**K about you, me, the Republicans or the Democrats. He cares about John McCain. And, right about now he wants to exit with glowing eulogies filled with words like courageous, maverick, and stalwart. To do that he needs to suck up to the Left, the media. He has no problem doing that.

Posted by: Orson at August 04, 2017 04:13 PM (BB/1p)

258 So if McStain switches parties to D, then dies while in office, does the Governor have to appoint a Dem to take his place? I can see him doing that just to piss off all us kookoo birds.
Miss Lindsay, Collins and Murkoskovininskiwhatever from AK would follow suit and suddenly you have a Dem Anti Trump senate.
Of course we've pretty much got that now.

259 Hey, with the hard left completely dominating the Democrats, wimpy leftists need somewhere to go, so naturally they go to a party with no standards whatsoever.

262 What cracks me up is...these politico's...esp in the GOP...are supposedly 'very smart'....supposedly. How in hell do they really think they are going to win anytime soon with the complete turtle act that they've been doing since last Nov? They have been doing the tuck since Trump won. For the most part anyways. One thing he has done is expose to many more people, I hope, just how useless all of the politco's are. Esp in the GOP. At least with the commies, you know what you're getting and they will vote party line every time, as if Uncle Joe Stalin were still in charge of them. The GOP have no idea on how to rule, win and fight. None. And thats the problem. Theyve been so cowed for so long that its ingrained in them. Pathetic.

263 He has been a Democrat for years why the surprise? His near death experience only emboldened him to express it.
