Berkeley Radio Station Cancels Richard Dawkins Appearance Over His Denigrating Comments About Islamism-- But Not Over His Far More Extensive History of Attacks on Christianity
Feels like our Masters have now settled upon our official State Religion.
Dawkins himself brought up the question on everyone's minds:I am known as a frequent critic of Christianity and have never been de-platformed for that. Why do you give Islam a free pass? Why is it fine to criticise Christianity but not Islam?

Note: He has confused this (privately-owned, I think) Berkeley radio station for the college at Berkeley. Doesn't really change much, but note this is a radio station issue, not a "campus" issue.

Did I just imagine a time when 'bans' were the pastime of the Christian right? Where students abhorred restrictions? 6. I issue a challenge to #Berkley: Is Islam perfect? If not, name one critic of Islam you deem suitable to talk about it on campus.
7. I guarantee there isn't a known critic of Islam that isn't labeled a 'bigot'. Even unknowns like myself get it regularly. 8. The mainstream left & so-called liberals have now become enforcers of Islamic blasphemy law. They've failed themselves & Muslims.

I think his contract included one more, but I can't imagine he can really get through it. He got terribly beat up doing the last one, and injured in each of them, I think. He was fantastic in Casino Royale - I really liked that one - and I think he is good in the character, and I lurve his blue eyes, but I don't know if he can really go through that again.

I'm not a Bond fan, but the thing about Daniel Craig is that he looks Russian, not British. Of course, the guy James Bond was supposedly modeled after was a Russian working for the allies in WWII ...
Other than that Craig is an excellent actor (for whatever that's worth). He played a great cowboy in Cowboys and Aliens, though he really can't do accents ... not at all ... not even the littlest bit.

Is the ugly shoe trend over? I don't pay attention to shoes much, unless they're so ugly they stand out, and it seemed like we went through some sort of trend with ugly shoes.
God awful clunky, chunky, clompy looking things. I'd see women wearing these things that I couldn't figure out why the hell they would want to be seen in them.
They looked like some bat shit insane designer took some of those orthopedic shoes my grandmothers wore and tried to make them fashionable somehow.

They used to. Pacifica lost CPB funding a couple years back as it failed to meet the audit requirements for CPB grants. So KPFA relies on listener donations, fundraisers, etc. There are enough wealthy lefties in Berkeley to keep it going.
KPFA has a couple of decent music programs (especially the Friday night "History of Funk" show with Rickey Vincent, which I used to listen to pretty regularly). But those are far outweighed by their ludicrous political programming.

I tend to look at it this way: men are inherently fallible. So you put men (or women) in charge of any large organization, and there are bound to be problems. Because people can become corrupted.
However, that doesn't mean that the beliefs of the church in general are corrupt, simply the flawed individuals who are running it.

It is interesting to note all the parallels between Islam and Leftism. But I think the main reason is that liberals really are bigots. They cannot think of Muslims as humans who are morally responsible for what they do. Went back to our old church, which is VERY conservative, no guitars, no hippie crap, and the pastor doesn't talk about global warming or anything else political.
To change parishes, I think all I had to do was send a letter to the old parish telling them I was moving.

We left out Parish because my Dad was the account and a trustee for the Church. Soccer just started to become popular in the 70's and 80's and the local organization needed some land because they outgrew what the local park had. Members of the trustees of the Church and Soccer org ( they were on both boards) wanted to sell the land the Church owned to the Soccer org. My Father said no because at the time the soccer organization had a rule saying if you didn't go to the local School and went to the neighboring one you couldn't play. and he felt that they should lease the land therefore have control over the land and not everyone from the church could even enjoy it. He was over out voted and they sold it. My Dad resigned in protest.
Well it's been a cluster ever since because now they have all kinds of parking issues, people using the Church Parking during games and leaving parishioners not being able to park when they want to attend church. People parking on the grass, trash etc.

But bear in mind that Senators have all run for election and many for re-election, and so they've faced the prospect of rejection. If they didn't think they could do the job and succeed, they wouldn't be Senators.

I don't think the names of NHS physicians handling the child's case have ever been mentioned. I did read that the American doc spent hours trying to get them to change their position to no avail. It must have been like butting his head against a brick wall.

People who shy away from rejection and failure don't run for office, any more than they try to break into professional sports. (Or academia, for that matter.) If you don't think you're the bee's knees, you don't go into any of these fields.
