Office of Special Counsel: US Postal Service Broke Campaign Laws By Permitting Workers Leave to Campaign for Hillary

#ButRussia.

The United States Postal Service violated federal law by letting employees do union-funded work for Hillary Clinton's campaign and other Democratic candidates while on leave from the agency, according to an Office of Special Counsel report obtained by Fox News.

The OSC determined the USPS "engaged in systemic violations" of the hosta Act, a federal law that limits certain political activities of federal employees. While employees are allowed to do some political work on leave, the report said the Postal Service showed a "bias" favoring the union's 2016 campaign operation.

The investigation was launched months ago after Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., brought constituent complaints to the OSC in October. The constituent, identified as a USPS employee, was concerned the Postal Service “incurred unnecessary overtime costs” and “improperly coordinated” with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) when it released members for several weeks of “union official” leave without pay to participate in campaign work.

“The Labor 2016 program sought to ‘elect Hillary Clinton and pro-worker candidates across the country,’” the report said...

3 My former postman told me that he did this during the presidential campaign of 2008. In fact, he tried to hand me campaign literature WHILE delivering my mail. His exact words were, "My union brothers and I are doing everything we can to get Barack Obama elected." I pointed out that it seemed illegal for government employees to canvassing while on the job, and he never spoke to me again.

17 My late comment from the last thread:

They did this exact same crap in schools.

They applied this disparate impact bullshit logic to detentions/suspensions. Black students were getting detentions/suspensions more often than other kids. So what's the fix? Lower standards of behavior for black kids. Black kids noticed (duh).

So now black kids that were barely in check before are committing outright violent crimes in the classroom and teachers have to turn a blind eye because "disparate impact".

My wife has a teacher friend who was attacked in her classroom. The kid planned it ahead of time and brought an audience. Not a single one of the little shits got detention. Not even the attacker.

I think it's easier to just follow the usual petty distractions instead of digging in deep and looking at what they're really doing behind the scenes. I imagine there were DOJ memos outlining this stuff coming out regularly during the Obama years? Never saw any of it.

Certainly we weren't going to see it from the MSM probably for the same reasons the bloggers weren't covering it (some might have I didn't see them): it's easier to talk about what Judy said about Emily and omg did you see what Amanda did! rather than do actual work digging up facts.

I don't believe so. Only in possible sentencing of said minor.
IRL, one might not know if their attacker is a minor.
In a school situation, they would, but then that would create a two tier system that makes the teacher unequal with you or me in the eyes of the law.

We do, too.

But your mailman probably knows your general politics based on things like magazines, catalogs, fundraising letters (took years for the RNC to stop pestering me), etc. The could -oopsie!- not deliver the ballot to my home, or collect undeliverable ballots for people who have moved and then get them to some people who are happy to use them as needed, etc.

Yep, compare the history of Chile with say Cuba. If there has been a Pinochet in Cuba how many people more people would be alive today? How much better off would they be financially? How much freer would they be.

On a side note a "rightwing" dictator, at least in the western tradition can never be as bad as a leftwing one, because inherently the former will be restrained by tradition. As we've seen with our current leftwing oligarchy there are "no" restrictions on how far the left will extend its power.

One doesn't even bother getting out of the car unless the package is too big to have in the front seat beside her. She'll leave it on the hood or trunk of your car if it's in the driveway and she can pull up next to it, or just toss it (literally throw) onto your porch. If she has to get out to get it out of the trunk she just leaves it in your driveway beside where her car/trunk was.

They know that blacks commit more crimes. However, they think that the reason that blacks commit more crimes is because of historic exploitation by whites.

We joke around that the left thinks all bad things are "society's fault." However, they really and truly believe that all social evil, including the "income gap" is because of the historic exploitation of brown people by whites and it INCLUDES microaggressions.

I went down and talked to the supervisor, who seemed to think it was okay to decided that someone didn't live there any more. I explained to him that they were interfering with my voting rights. That's awful! My trouble has been with UPS and DHL. Last year the postmaster tracked down a missing UPS package that never transferred to USPS, even though a USPS routing number was generated for it. It was sent from Tennessee, arrived in Michigan and then mysteriously went to D.C.

Where I live now, the postal workers are great. I had to get a PO box because of a drunk driver, a snowplow, and finally members of the Middle School Mafia taking out my mailbox. I have several problems with legalization.

1. Almost everyone who decries the drug war only has marijuana in mind. The drug war doesn't go away until *every* drug is legalized.

2. The industry wide failure rate for rehab is over 90%. The only way a person who is hooked on the more severe drugs ever gets off drugs is multiple rehabs.

3. Any random person has bad years and good years. I firmly believe that for significant numbers of people, the only reason they don't try hard drugs is booze is easier to get than cocaine or heroin, and it does a reasonable job getting them the release they're looking for. Legalization takes away a significant barrier to acquisition.

4. Meth, cocaine, heroin, and several other drugs really only take a handful of uses before the user is massively addicted. It's a beautiful meal with a bear trap waiting for you at the exit.

Posted by: IrishEi at July 20, 2017 01:38 PM (HiDrR)

Couple of things on that. Some vendors that are NOT Amazon fulfill by USPS and they are PRIME - so what they do is they ship by Fedex to your post office, USPS delivers the last mile. This may take a day or two. Personally, I think this is horsecrap, because your Prime 2 day delivery is TO YOUR PO - not to you. I think that vendors should have to clearly indicate how they deliver.

Second, apparently gaming the delivery system is regular enough that Amazon customer service knows the problem. I have almost 100% success on 2 day delivery aside from the above issue with USPS doing the last mile. Where it gets sketchy is 1 and same day delivery. I have roughly 33% success with that (as a result, I no longer do it - if I need it that quickly I go to the store and buy it even if it costs more.) Around here, Lasership is often the last mile delivery, and I have gotten notification right at 8 pm on the day that I was supposed to receive a delivery by 8 pm that day, that it was delivered, and I checked my cameras (I am wired up like Scarface up in here) and no one approached my house that day. I checked with my neighbors and no one else mistakenly received it.

What really, REALLY surprised me is that Obama didn't pardon Leonard Peltier. He is a federal prisoner. Clinton wanted to do it until Louis Freeh and a bunch of other top level guys threatened to resign over it.

I was sure Obama would do it. I wonder why he didn't.

I have a friend who is upset that middle-class Catholics are signing petitions to keep "the poor" from their neighborhood. No, they're against subsidized housing that will bring in people who use drugs, hang out in the street, and steal whenever the opportunity arises.

If agencies wanted to build a senior high rise for poor elderly people, they wouldn't have push back. A bunch of old men aren't going to harass kids walking to the park or intimidate neighbors into handing over "spare change". And old ladies aren't spawning a bunch of kids whose hobbies are B&E.

437 I got a free tent out of an Amazon delivery snafu.

I'd ordered one for a specific trip. Amazon gives me the notice that it's been delivered. Well, it hadn't been delivered so I went to an outfitter and bought another.

Amazon said it must have been delivered to the wrong address and refunded my money. About a week later the original tent shows up.

I considered returning it because morally it wasn't mine but I never quite got around to it.

Posted by: Bandersnatch at July 20, 2017 01:52 PM (gIRsn)

438 Some vendors that are NOT Amazon fulfill by USPS and they are PRIME - so what they do is they ship by Fedex to your post office, USPS delivers the last mile. This may take a day or two. Personally, I think this is horsecrap, because your Prime 2 day delivery is TO YOUR PO - not to you. I think that vendors should have to clearly indicate how they deliver.

Also sleazy? Prime doesn't start until they ship it, not from when you order it.

I've ordered stuff and received it 5 days later. Why?
Amazon held it for three before shipping it.

512 488. Yep. It's funny, that - if you decriminalize the production &distribution of a thing, you remove incentives for criminals to get involved. To my mind, this is a good and glorious thing.

518 If I'm risking it anyway, I'll usually go through ebay. Otherwise I always choose the prime option, even with used books and stuff, because you can return it easily and they'll generally pay the return shipping.

Not that I'm aware of. Soon I'm sure. There are plenty of people hanging around Home Depot that are looking for work.

I'm pretty sure the mob still has a hand in legal casinos and legal online gambling sites.

524 472 "And old ladies aren't spawning a bunch of kids whose hobbies are BE."

There are a whole bunch of criminal hoodrats who have ended up in the custody of a grandparent. Because both their birth mother and their sperminator father are either dead, addicted, in the lockup, or incapable of being located.
Posted by: torquewrench at July 20, 2017 01:58 PM

Sure, but they aren't in senior high rises. It's the "family" housing that loads up with grandma's precious income-enhancers. There are two low-income housing places for elderly in my area, and not only do the nursing staff keep an eye on things, but the other residents have no qualms about reporting a child or grandchild that overstays the visiting period. Maybe it's because there's a waiting list to get in or maybe because a lot of these old folks have put in their time with disfunctional family members - or maybe it's because they're both within two miles of the police department - but those seniors don't put up with crap.

525 The only issue I have had with amazon was I ordered a wifi router and got a switch. Same ballpark at least, considering all the crap they sell. The return system was pretty painless.

And then the state sets up a regulatory system and taxes it to death. Just another criminal organization with a patina of legality.

529 I ordered something through Amazon recently, and it is by now TEN DAYS late. Still hasn't arrived. It's coming from China, is the problem.

Posted by: zombie at July 20, 2017 01:59 PM (DQ4Fv)

Yeah you have to look carefully at shipping method. If shipping from China two weeks is the earliest time you can start looking.

And watch -- they don't want to return something which has shipped from China ever. The Chinese will suggest you 'eat it' or give it away before they'll agree to make it right.

fMRI studies show pits in the brain of users even after minor usage of marijuana. Use of marijuana before your twenties is linked to something like a 7 point IQ drop. There's a strong indication that marijuana use in a portion of the population can trigger schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety.

I tried the stuff in high school a couple of times about 10 years ago . Each time it made me paranoid and nervous. I get the same effect walking through my nearest city.
