Aside from ending homosexual hints and jokes, it won't make any difference at all. Moffat has only one template for writing, he just plugs in different names. It doesn't really matter who the characters are. You have the one smart character who gets into trouble and has to work his way out, and the other people that the smart character takes advantage of and manipulates to get what he wants while they all worship the protagonist

Annnndddd.... know why that happened? Because a couple of our Allies were running past the Marine Perimeter a few weeks prior... were ordered to halt... did not... Marine let off a warning shot just as they accelerated... got em BOTH in the legs...
Because of that... no more loaded weapons... even though less than a 1 week before the Barracks got bombed... I was personally shot at while crossing the city going to the embassy...

I haven't gotten on board with the rebooted version, it's not the same as the original. But, lots of people seem to like the new version and what makes that work are the key elements that made the original good. Yeah ... that was pretty bad. But it was nothing compared to Age Of Innocence. That movie sucked the sweat off of monkey balls ... for hours and hours and hours.

Unbelievable trivia: A nut here in the Puget Sound region turned it into a stage musical.
It had a couple of weekends of performances and then was buried.

Never seen it. Strode did a bunch of westerns, I always liked his work. Big, heroic looking guy. He was a great bad guy, too. They cast him a lot as an indian too, which is just, odd.

489 But seriously, that actually would make a good historical film/series, since the Buffalo Soldiers were a major factor in pacifying the West.
They kinda tried that with Posse (1993 Mario Van Peebles blaxploitation western) but it wasn't well done at all. I like even bad westerns, so I liked it okay but it was pretty bad. A better one would be very welcome.

Remembering the old Tom Baker era _Horror of Fang Rock_, where at the end the Doctor and Leela successfully blast the evil alien, and then afterwards, as the Doctor is heading to the TARDIS, Leela sneaks back to privately gloat to the dying monster,
"I hope you enjoy your death as much as I enjoyed killing you," or words to that effect.

The last 15 minutes were pretty stupid but that's not bad by general movie standards. The movie was really finished before that. Once she arrived on that outer space beach that was really when the movie was over. Up to that point it was pretty entertaining.

Rutledge is accused of the rape/murder of his CO's wife or daughter. He is cleared when a trinket she was wearing around her neck is found on the real (white) murderer. It's been years but if I remember right the item around her neck was a cross and the real murderer was the chaplin.
Trulh a movie ahead of its time.

Jesus Christ! The movie is about faith and understanding someone else's experience. Dad takes care of kid and prepares her for life and the scheme of things. Kid uses science to look for aliens but no one else believes or will fund her. Sleeps with sexy minister but can't get involved because he believes things she doesn't think exist. Blind guy who can't see the world helps her discover aliens. She meets aliens who take on her Dad's form because she might not listen to them. Tape is blank and no one believes her about contact. Minister says she said it happened and he believes her; has faith in her. Cynical politicians wonder even after destroying her.
It is under rated and a terrific story.
