CNN Commentator Marc Lamont Hill Praises Convicted Murderer and Terrorist, Calling Her "My Queen"

A blistering decades-long romance with murder.

The left loves murder. Murder is the left's love.

In actuality, Shakur is a convicted bank robber and murderer. In 1973, she and two other members of the Black Liberation Army opened fire on a pair of New Jersey state police officers, wounding one and killing the other execution-style. The fallen officer left behind a widow and two children.

Four years later, Shakur was found guilty of first degree murder, assault and battery of a police officer, armed robbery, and several other crimes. She was sentenced to life in prison.

In 1979, Shakur escaped prison and fled to Cuba. The FBI has placed her on its list of "Most Wanted Terrorists," offering a million dollars to anyone with information that leads to her recapture.

Marc Lamont Hill later explained that he thought this terrorist murderer was "framed:"

Prompting this in retur:

The "Women's March," that organization with the pussyhats, also tweeted out a happy birthday to the terrorist murderer. They too later clarified that she may or may not be a "criminal," but they tweeted their support to... stop the rightwing from "criminalizing" criminals.

HashtagGriswold asked if a single media organization not on the right had remarked upon the Women's March's embrace of terrorist murders. Since then, he found exactly one reference:

Note though the story isn't about their praise of a cop-killer -- but the "backlash" they're getting for it.

6 So far the women's march has lauded a cop killer, a woman who sodomized a gay man to death, and another woman who wants to cut off women's hay-nonny-wow-wows.

I am starting to think maybe this isn't the most kosher organization around now.

88 They can't believe its bad to love the people who are trying to bring it down.

Right, its the same as Christians who denounce bombing abortion clinics but secretly aren't all that upset about it. Extremism in the defense of liberty, and all that. Its a dangerous, caustic attitude that's too easy to slip into, especially in the safety of being out of range.

Its like calling for civil war from the comfort of your home, not on the front lines.

92 I know from private discussions (nothing public or from famous people) where prolife people have debated the morality of an abortion clinic bombing -- but universally, it's come down to saying that they understand the motivation, but strongly disagree with the decision.

What's often whitewashed about the tiny pool of bombings that ever occurred is that at least several were planned in off hours to minimize or eliminate casualties. The idea seems to have been that eliminating means of murder extra-legally was okay, but killing (even such people as these) was wrong.

*That* is something that can fuel an ethics discussion, and far beyond and in every way different than "pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon". Can't say I've ever heard of midnight raids on the police car parking lot.

Why not just say that you really know jack about her, except what people who have strong personal opinions write about her, and maybe, if you give a shit about the truth, you shouldn't be supporting this or that, but either a) doing your own (genuine) research or b) shutting up about it.

There was a terrorist group in Athens, Greece that operated on that principle. They were trying to distance themselves from November 17, who were kneecapping and killing Greek and American officials, so they bombed buildings that "nobody" was in. Until they bombed a building that had a number of older janitors cleaning it.

They were wrapped up after that, since they lost the public's, maybe not support but their 'eh, whatever' attitude.

So, supporting a cop killer. It will play to a certain demographic, but when the streets get ugly for everyone, even the 'eh' types will turn.

Many of them protested against and were activists regarding the Rosenbergs' execution, saying it was unfair to the Rosenberg's sons to have killed the parents. And especially since the parents WERE INNOCENT!!11!!

Then, in private, as I overheard frequently as a young kid, they'd all say they were so proud of the Rosenbergs for giving the nuke secrets to the wonderful USSR, homeland of equality and utopia!

So, this strategy has been standard-operating-procedure for the left for DECADES: Celebrate the crimes of your heroes in private, specifically because of the crimes -- and then in public, say they're innocent of all accusations, and lie by saying that you support them because they are innocent victims of a right-wing witch hunt.

From what I've read in comments and articles by cops, that's not too odd. It depends a lot on policy and technology, but apparently unless you turn on the siren the dash cam doesn't turn on in some cars. And the personal cams are sometimes keyed to certain actions as well, like drawing your weapon. So them being off isn't necessarily unusual or meaningful.

The woman wearing pajamas lives in a country that has Apache helicopters and F-16's to hunt down innocent civilians. All the policeman had was a handgun, but he used it heroically in the struggle against the Israeli occupation.

At least I think that's how it goes. Something like that.

It's cases like this when distrust of cops comes to the fore. Witnesses saw them supposedly performing CPR. But they are the ones who shot her. Only in the case of police is that NOT a conflict of interest.

But if I had been on the jury hearing Roeder's case, I would have voted GUILTY to the charge of murder in the first degree.

Maybe there are some pro-lifers who would have excused the murder. I've never met one. I do know there are some who would have liked to see Roeder get a lesser charge.

But I guarantee one thing: there's no way any conservative Christian school would hire him as a teacher. There's no way they would elevate him to heroic stature.

The Left does exactly that ALL THE TIME.

174 The origin of the "we know they are guilty but will lie about it" left thing with murdering scum seems to be the Sacco & Vanzetti trials. I mean the trials were travesties of justice, but they were clearly guilty. But out came the leftists, claiming they were innocent despite saying in private they were obviously guilty. Upton Sinclair wrote a book all about how they were railroaded but according to his quotes and the comments of his kids, he knew very well they were innocent but dared not say otherwise out of fear for his life

"My wife is absolutely certain that if I tell what I believe, I will be called a traitor to the movement and may not live to finish the book."

Yes -- it's a very bizarre form of cognitive dissonance that is hard to wrap one's mind around, much less describe accurately. They simultaneously feel righteous about their heroes' innocence, and also proud of their wonderful traitorous deeds. They somehow rectify this dissonance in their twisted brains by thinking that the Rosenbergs' acts of espionage were not actually a crime. So they can simultaneously be "innocent" of moral wrongdoing while having admittedly betrayed the US. Because betraying the US is the morally right thing to do.

Is it really cognitive dissonance if they don't believe what the person did was wrong? They understand the difference between crime and a moral wrong; those are not the same thing. So they denounce the "crime" part - that they got caught - but not what the Rosenbergs, Shakur, et al. actually did because it was morally right. That's what I'm sensing from Mark Lamont Hill - he's saying he doesn't think she did anything wrong, so of course he can celebrate her.

Leftists largely lack the ability to process moral judgment with any degree of nuance. Everything must be totally one thing or totally another, with no use for comparatives or relative position. It's related to what somebody - Haidt? - wrote about people who are conservative having more moral axes on which to judge things, but worse, because it's largely *why* those axes are missing. Simplistic, lizard-brain stuff.

Rather than believe that A is better than B but worse than C, they believe that A is both *good* and *bad*, to the extent needed. It's not cognitive dissonance, because there is no cognition *at all* about the most critical things to think about. All brain space is taken up in the prevarication, none in the judgment.

Does that sum it up?

Sure, but the mental illness aspect can be *learned*, and the extreme emotions inherited. Or, something can be "emotionally reasoned" from an extreme emotion and then accepted noncritically in a more sanguine state, if the "base state" is sufficiently disturbed. By design.

TRUMPHITLER is an example of such a thing. A lefty acquaintance will have accepted it *not* from people literally screaming, but from warm NPR voices nattering away - because the NPR types *were* screaming in their own heads when they reached their conclusions, and the acquaintance has been *primed*. This person will then be outwardly calm, but uneasy at all times... and watch for the glitter in their eye when you say something positive about Trump...

LOL-that is awesome!

We used to just kind of forget about what Mr. Palmieri did for a living until his name would pop up in the papers. "Reputed mobster" they always called him.

Those guys had houses all over the place in various names that they would use to conduct business. We never saw anything, not one thing, untoward.

Hey, Mr Soprano would have been a great neighbor. His kids, and that no-good nephew, not so much.

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at July 18, 2017 05:31 PM (39g3+)

326 It was a mob town though. Heck I had friends at school who pretty much WERE A.J. Soprano.

I had some cachet because my great grandfather had been one of the local Don's attorneys back in the day. He was no Tom Hagen, he had thousands of clients over a very long career, and the Don was only one of them. But it was "known" and with the same last name, I got some automatic respect with the wiseguys' kids.

329 I hate those organized crime bullies who only have power because they don't.care about consequences like normal folk. I don't understand the people who look up to them or have some type of admiration.

330 We have been binge-watching "Grey's Anatomy" on Netflix. I never realized how many black surgeons there are in Seattle.

Good for them.

Oh, and the LBGT percentage of the population seems to be well above 20% too.
