OMG: Donald Trump Jr. Colluded With Russia to Make Susan Rice Suddenly Refuse to Testify Before Senate Panel

Okay, the beginning of that headline isn't true, but I wrote it in a form that might cause Jake Tapper to maybe try reading it and to speculate about Rice's reasons to refuse to give honest answers to pertinent questions.

Fox News was initially told Rice would be giving closed-door testimony Tuesday before the Republican-led House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

But that session has apparently been postponed....

Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan last week told Fox News that he wants Rice to answer the basic question: "Did you unmask the names and if so why?"

I saw someone on Twitter ask if Trey Gowdy is going to issue a subpoena compelling her presence or if he's going to fold like a cheap suit.

We'll see.

10 I'd like to know if Donald Trump colluded with Russia in releasing
emails showing the DNC favored Hillary and that the media colluded with
her campaign.

That is the what this is all about isn't it? Isn't that why we need a special prosecutor?
I think those emails reflect more negatively on the DNC and our media but I guess they need copy.

Incidentally, the Clinton Foundation did not "shut down," as erroneously reported early this year. It was only its Global Initiative program that got shuttered. The $2.35 million is probably still rattling around in the Clinton Foundation's bank account.

20 The republicans are never going to do anything and this is why we voted for Trump.

Trump can't do anything by himself when 60 percent of the republicans are colluding with the democrats.

So nothing changes until we get a new political party dedicated to cleaning corruption out of government.

In other words, after Trump, we go back to progressive democrats and their long march to the future.

25 Maybe the two recent witnesses to Hillary evil that committed suicide convinced Susan she was not ready to go. But full testimony may be the safer route to avoid the Seth Rich style end.

All those folks that got immunity, can't they still be called in to testify? Deep State apparently will never suicide itself, so we get endless special counsel and obfuscation, and the obvious subpoenas never get issued, obvious hard questions never directly asked or answered. (like with a cloth?)

Walking My Cat Named Dog

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPZVrmJ2HH8
Posted by: Soothsayer

She's one of the most unusual "stars" of all the 1960s; she considered her song "Walking My Cat Named Dog" to be very serious and important -- but it was perceived by radio DJs as an intentionally ludicrous novelty song. Based on radios plays, it became popular solely as a "joke" and actually hit the top 40. It even went to #1 in England - -so she moved there for the rest of the decade. But when she performed, she would sing very sage and somber weird atonal folk-song compositions she had written, whereas the audiences were expecting her to be like Spike Jones or Weird Al Yankovic -- a novelty-song prankster.

She failed to meet audience expectations, and never really had another hit, and (after having an affair with Dusty Springfield [!!!]) returned to the US to teach pottery at a small college.

"Things will be very difficult for him when he comes home if he ignores this summons."

I nearly rage-stroked. I tried to *calmly* 'splain to the bitch that I couldn't reach son by phone, because he was in a combat zone. Bitch Did Not Care.

I finally managed to reach a supervisor, who apologized and took him off the juror roll.

I work in a small group - less than a dozen people. Yet - you'd think it's IBM - with all these references to "The Rules".

We'd love to do such-and-such better, but our policy clearly states ...

I think improving so-and-so would be good, but what about our standard blah blah blah

The standards are what we make them - we're in charge. The policy is what we say it is. That shit should never be a roadblock in a small company - or in a Congress that has majorities in both houses, the White house, and at least a tie in the Supreme Court. If They're Serious About Change.

But my little group ain't serious - and neither are the Republicans. And "The Rules" are nothing more than a convenient damn excuse to let shit slide.

It's a result of so many people lying and/or blowing it off. I thought about blowing it off but that's risky because you never know if the judge in question is going to be a total prick who can't wait to sign that bench warrant.

I read a lot of accounts online where people moved and they still weren't going to let them off even after they sent paperwork proving they didn't live in the area.

162 June is a very interesting month. Trump clinches the nomination in late May. On June 3, Goldstone emails Trump, Jr., using words that seem designed to justify a FISA warrant. On June 9, the meeting takes place, but there is no oppo research presented, only Magnitsky Act issues.

On June 14, Veselnitskaya appears at the Congressional Hearing sitting behind Obama's Russian Ambassador McFau, who testifies she is not a government agent, but just a private Russian citizen. (She has since denied any knowledge or intent to talk about Hillary, leaving Goldstone as the sole instigator.)

On June 27, Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch hold their Tarmac Summit, even though his wife is under investigation.

And on an unknown date in June, the FISA court turns down a request for the first time in many years, a request to wiretap Trump.

It would be interesting to know if that FISA request was made a day or two after the Tarmac Summit, wouldn't it?

And while the political appointees in charge of our intelligence agencies enjoyed spying on Trump, I wonder how those FISA Court judges feel about being drafted by Obama and Lynch, who turned the FISA Court into a de facto arm of the Clinton Campaign?

Someone ought to ask them.

I suspect that the FISA warrant was just cover, and that the initial denial didn't stop the spying. In fact, fruits of the illegal spying were later used as the justification for the October warrant that did get approved.

The following may be really significant:

There's been stories kicking around that Law Enforcement uses information obtained from the NSA to make cases, and then back fills the investigation to identify facts necessary to get the necessary court-authorized warrants. This is a big fucking deal by itself.

Just like we are a lawless society when there is a two-tiered justice system, and we are undoubtedly a two- or more- tiered system. We are lawless with a State that can crush whoever it chooses. Not surprisingly, it never wants to dent, much less crush, itself.

Posted by: Hrothgar at July 17, 2017 06:48 PM (gwPgz0

People need to understand that Congress is not the judicial branch.
It has zero enforcement powers. Trey Gowdy can demand all he wants that a witness show up to a Congressional hearing and yes, he can find some way to have subpoena end up in their hands, but if the DOJ doesn't subsequently send a lawyer to file a contempt of congress brief with a REAL court, go argue that complaint in front of a judge, get a bench warrant out for the arrest of the person and then get the court to order Federal marshals to go pick the person up and plop them in front of the committee , where they will plead the fifth, these Congressional Committees are all shows for C-span.

Remember, they have to go to a Federal court in DC, I believe , to enforce their subpoena. The same court Obama packed while President. And imagine the weeks that go by while the wheels of justice barely move in this process.

So why, exactly - do you think Republicans won't fight ?

Answer One - They're scared what might come out.

Ever watch a couple that's been fucking around on each other argue ?

IT IS FUCKING HILARIOUS !!! I'VE SEEN IT.

They'll argue over process. They make outlandish claims. They'll dramatize. They'll threaten. They'll engage in pretext worthy of diplomats.

But they sure won't say what's obvious - because the obvious sucks. The obvious is "We both fucked around". But it's the truth.

Work is the same way. First person that says "Don't care about your Mission Statement ... I'm just here for the money. I don't give two shits about your widget after my shift." ... is Public Enemy Number One. But it's the truth.

Republicans won't say the truth either - because the truth sucks. The truth is "We're not going to fight - because losing in DC beats winning back in our districts".

Oh, I agree. I'm sure there are some kind of arcane committee rules that have to be voted on by all on the panel that somehow prevent Gowdy from initially issuing a subpoena, don't forget, the committee has it's share of democrats who likely are funneling all committee plans and discussion to the appropriate third parties who then inform the witnesses. They won't be naïve like Don Jr and tell the witness themselves, they'll just make sure it gets to them.

This is why Chaffetz said he quit. That Congress is designed to not get anything done and he wasn't going to continue to spend time away from his family for such a useless job.

It seems to me the purpose of oversight hearings are to determine if Congress needs to pass/amend current laws, in light of blah, blah, blah.

Then I sit and wonder if Gowdy has ever proposed said legislation--dating back to Fast Furious.

Odder still, that Gowdy chooses to be in Congress, when he could write his own ticket where "investigations and subpoenas" actually matter, including Attorney General (BTW-fire that guy).

I think prosecutors, etc decide to go into politics for that exact reason.

"Hey, how many times did I want to prosecute so and so and they got off on technicalities, or the law didn't permit, etc. "

So they go in thinking they can change things, then they find out that Congress has arranged itself so that a single individual can stall the process because they are on the opposition party and we must give them opportunity because we might be opposition party next time, blah blah.

Then they sit there getting nothing done.

They can leave as Chaffetz did, or they can keep fighting it, like Cruz.

This is why term limits are important. It does remove that , "oh my god I need to get reelected " mindset.

World wide what is the racial make-up?

Is it still based on 3 major races, Mongoloid, Caucasoid and Negroid ?

Some sources include Hispanic ( a race that includes a black Brazilian and a blue eyed Basque ?)

and Indian.( They don't Subcontinent or Amerind )

There has to be at least a quarter of the world population that is a mixture.
