Life is good.

Yesterday my aunt threw a birthday party for my uncle and my dad, who are the same age 2 weeks of the year.

She is 73, but that dame can still party.

50 guests of all age groups ate, drank and laughed for 7 well planned hours, and smart phones only came out for pictures.

My last dinner party had 5 guests. I need to up my game.

If you take away CA, IL, NY and the rest of New England Trump's approval is most likely about 55-60%, and that should worry the dems, especially Dem Sneators up for reelection in States Trump won.

Those States do not matter and at this point any National polls are meaningless as far as the mid terms go.

________

I guess for a lot of people, when they look to the right they see me. And a month and a half ago, they'd see me with an unexpected car repair that I didn't have the cash to pay for, so I used my credit card. Then I projected my cash flow so I could pay the entire statement balance and not incur any interest expense. It's all good.

How naïve.

The reality is that the history of all hitherto history is the history of class struggles, and I should wake up to the reality of how everyone -- from the corporation that made my car and the corporate stooge who sold it to me to the company who controls the means for my car's repair and the credit card banksters who conceal their interest scam on page one of my statement -- exploits and oppresses me. It's time to take them down! All of them!

So yeah, my alternate reality is "It's all good."

That's my narrative and I'm sticking to it.

The problem is that the GOPe isn't giving anyone a reason to vote for them. They're angering a lot of their voters, who might decide to stay home. So I'm not so confident about 2018.

Sure, we should primary the ones who are blocking or slow-walking Trump's agenda, but it's very difficult to get rid of an incumbent that way, since they have all that Establishment money and support.

Just exactly what is it he has allegedly done to be taken down and where is he losing the support that put him in office? Also will those deplorable folks who put him in office stand by and allow him to be taken down, impeached over nothing and destroyed? Are the American people powerless over the corruption that is deep and wide in both parties in DC? Have we really come to the point that a duly elected president can be thrown out of office for committing no crime just because a cabal of entrenched politicians don't like him and never thought he would win? It's a perfect example of magical thinking. It's not grounded in reality. Only in this nearly infantile belief that things can come true if you only tap your heels and say, ''There's no place like home" and you'll be instantly transported to your safe space.

Or that an underpowered train engine can climb the hill if it only 'tries hard enough and thinks it can'.

Now it's, "If we only all concentrate our hatred in one 'summer of resistance' we'll be able to remove him from office."

Agree on this point. Once the leftards wake up after Labor Day and Trump is still president ~ some cold hard reality is going to set in. If Trump can then start launching his own investigations of leaks and Democrat "collusion" with foreign powers ~ particulally the Clinton Global Initiative accepting bribes obtained by selling access and deals from Hillary's State Department, this worm will turn. All that and a strengthening economy will break through to even voters in parts of NY and CA.

What will also come across loud and clear at the next election is that this is elitist jackass leftard cities on the coast ( and Chicago ~ bless em) against literally everyone else int the US. Even in NY ~ if people upstate start realizing all they have to do is have everyone show up an vote Trump to stick it to the jerkoffs in NYC they will start to do it. Remember ~ even in NYC almost 400K voted for Trump

55 The whole Russia/Trump operation has all the earmarks of a Skankles strategy and is just as poorly executed as was her campaign. The fact that it has continued for so long, I think is because a) there is no one who thinks independently and critically in Washington and b) so many people are totally vested in it. To admit it was not true and had no merit to begin with would be to admit they were fools.

The whole thing is a travesty but at least it has exposed the various players and organizations for what they truly are: a bunch of parasites living off taxpayer largess. I hope Trump can drain the swamp, but if not I hope succeeds in decapitating the GOP of its present leadership.

There's a great scene in Tropic Thunder where Robert Downey's fake black character goes out of character for a millisecond when the other actually black actor taunts him with "Hey Kangaroo Jack . . oooh .... ooh a Dingo Ate my baby!" to which he replies. "That's not funny ... a woman lost her kid"

Yes ~ indeed ~ years later her story was confirmed and the whole incident revealed to be overzealous crown prosecutors looking for a scalp for their wall like the good fascists that many of them are.

I mean ~ not sure why they didn't believe her. This is Australia for chrissakes! Everything can kill you there ~ even the plants

Remember how the Europeans are using propane as a refrigerant in their refrigerators? I'm looking at a chart of flash points and am hard pressed to find a fuel with a lower flash point. (Lower flash point number means vapors are easily ignited.)

Gasoline -45
Diesel fuel +100

90 #53 Even in NY ~ if people upstate start realizing all they have to do is have everyone show up an vote Trump to stick it to the jerkoffs in NYC they will start to do it. Remember ~ even in NYC almost 400K voted for Trump

We did our part in WNY. Niagara County had not voted R in a Presidential race since Reagan in '84, and it went Trump by 19 points. Usually, if the other party is going to win after a span of 32 years, it's by a nose, not by 19 %. Obummer had one by 2% in '12 so that was a 21 point turnaround.

I knew something was in the air. The bumper stickers, all the Trump gear I saw being worn at the primary polls, and especially the rolling Trump rally that I encountered a few weekends before the election and wrote about here. Dozens of pickups festooned with flags and Trump banners rolling through town and all the waves and friendly horn toots they were getting.

These were people giving up a beautiful weekend afternoon to take it upon themselves to do this in a state that they KNEW Trump had ZERO chance of winning. That indicated to me that something earthshaking was coming.

On the morning of the general, I saw only Trump gear at the polls. Trump folks giving each other the "nod" that had become the Silent Majority's greeting. The Hillary people weren't wearing Hillary gear. And there were a hell of a lot more of the Trump people, as the final results proved.

95 One interesting little tidbit that has been - if the Russians were peddling dirt on Hillary accepting money from foreign sources - why hasn't anyone in the media asked if that was true? If it wasn't it certainly wouldn't help the Trump campaign - it might even hurt him- so therefore the Russians were not on Trump's side.

If it was true then Hillary WAS accepting illegal foreign contributions....

So, which is it?

However, we're not hearing anything about that.

The Muslim Waqf, headed by the Mufti of Jerusalem, is refusing to cooperate with the new security procedures that police are seeking to institute on the Temple Mount following the murderous attack at the compound last Friday.

Waqf officials announced that they would not pass through the electronic entrance gates, (magnometers, instruments used to detect the presence of metallic objects) set up by police at two of the entrances used by Muslims to enter the Temple Mount site.

There was a leftist bloodless coup d'etat that brought Francis to power. No other words for what happened.

It's depressing to hear anything come out of the Vatican anymore.

Armed mobs need to storm the offices of whoever publishes those stupid women's magazines and destroy their Superlative Generator. That thing has been far too active for too many years.

No, President Obama, Hillary Clinton was not the most qualified person ever to be president of the United States.

And no, everybody else, Bush-43's first term was not worse than the Civil War.

And effing hell, Phil Donahue, were you vacationing with Santa Claus in September 2001?

156 "What kind of plastic washers? plumbing pipes?"

Plaster...not plastic.

http://tinyurl.com/ycqr5x6j

Stately VIA Manor is constructed with true plaster in board form, with a trowel course coat over it, and followed by a finishing coat of pure plaster for a rock hard surface finish.

No..not wood Lathe and Plaster, but the next generation of plastering with expanded metal substrate used on many spots.

Anyhow, the ceiling has separated from the joists in some spots by as much as an 8th of an inch, causing hairline cracks.

I am using the plaster washers to stabilize, and in most cases, pull the ceiling back up in contact with the joists.

But, I am using a dermal tool to create a recessed space on the surface for the washer to set into, allowing for smooth troweling of setting compound over the hole, eliminating the need to try mudding in the washers on top of the smooth surface of the ceiling.

So what happened at that meeting yesterday? Did you get any question asked?

171 I have been having a terrible time adjusting to not singing Sunday mornings. Choir gets the summer off, and it's very confusing.

I am reading "Bible Basics for Catholics" which is mildly annoying as it seems quite patronizing in some ways. The Bible is explained as a series of covenants between God and his chosen people. It's interesting if you can ignore the author's condescension. But then, it's not like people still learn how to sound out words or actually look them up in the dictionary.

And I am still reading the first Bosch novel. It's my bedtime book so it's slow going.

Mostly I've been knitting and I watch TV while doing that. I've met one person who said she could read while knitting, but she freely admitted it was Harlequin romance stuff that didn't require great powers of concentration.
