Why do progressives always screw this up? Once again: Government cannot grant 'rights'. It can only abridge (or refrain from abridging) rights that are already in existence. Oh wait, that's a clue. The U.S. Constitution infers the existence of a reality outside of human government that may even be against human government. Progressives have a hard time with this. Their credo is: "Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state."

Which is actually rather frightening. If the most transcendent entity you can conceive is the state, the corrupt, oppressive, run-by-idiots-to-line-their-own-pockets state, that leaves little room for hope. No wonder so many progressives are mentally ill.

And what is the will of our Lord? The answer to that can be found in Micah 6:8: He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Likewise, Paul says in Romans 2:12~16 that the Gentiles, not having the Law, are a law unto themselves when they obey the law written in our hearts, their thoughts sometimes accusing them, other times exonerating them.

If you think it will be a surprise to see a kind and decent person who was nonetheless not yet a Christian, destined for destruction, standing at the throne of God with eyes full of wonder, having finally realized what it was they'd sought their entire lives, then you have not yet understood God's love for His creation as you ought.

Have a glass of wine and consider anew the love and mercy of our Lord, and the great lengths He goes to for us.

137 If anyone wants to delve into some historical minutiae, there may have been some "POC"'s at Dunkirk.

The 1st Moroccan, the 2nd and 5th North African Divisions were assigned to the French 1st Army. Parts of which were trapped in the encirclement.

These Formations were formed from French citizens who lived in the North African colonies. Any "POC" who held French Citizenship would have been subject to conscription into these Formations.

I would say the most likely place to check would be the 1st Moroccan Division. There would likely be more Moroccans who had that French Citizenship because it was less violent than Algeria or Tunisia.

Even in WWII in the US Army blacks were about the same as their demographics ~12%. Even then they were mainly in logistics units. In combat arms there were a few segregated units.

I think teens have an irrational tendency to be hypercritical of their own family and romanticize/idealize people/groups outside their families, of which they have no real experience.

heh ... I'd guess there are many devoted church goers that do not believe Christ was raised from the dead. (polls have shown as much). I was steeped in the confess and get "born again", a spiritual new birth with eternal life spirit. But institutional Christianity has wandered and withered, and the pope now seems more Marxist agent than spiritual servant.

The sensibilities and liberties that are being eroded are "christian" (small "c" meaning in the civil responsibility sense, the "love your neighbor culture", without believing in the full spiritual "redemption from sin nature" by accepting a Lord that paid the price).

But the "commie atheists" don't appreciate how the "christian culture" they are destroying was derived, or why. On the other hand, some atheists or agnostics are able to conceive of the America First concept and the importance of liberty in the "c"hristian civic sense, which makes them fine fellow Americans to me.

It is true one can find atheists that are objectively more Christianlike, no argument there. Why are those who follow Christ so objectionable. The writer, whether they realize it or not, are endorsing Christian principles. So what's the problem? Hint: They aren't making their arguments from a rational position, nor an ethical position, and are lying as well as from a faulty premise.

Cf.

"Progressive Muslims recognize my humanity and equality as a queer more than Rightist Christians do."

I changed "Christian Rightists" to "Rightist Christians" to make clear how she's comparing apples and oranges. Also, she is practicing the very dehumanization she eschews: whereas Muslims are called Muslims (i.e., a plural of the individual Muslim), Christians become a concept: the Christian right.
