Sometimes, a customer will like a painting and want a copy. They will then dictate a change or two. Sometimes the artist doesn't like the first work and will try again. Sometimes, after the first one is done, they will have a better idea and try again. Sometimes they like the theme and revisit it several times. And sometimes, it can be a combination of the above, or something else entirely.

71 Interesting. I usually expect more intense colors, especially reds, from Caravaggio. This one uses softer earth tones for the background and clothing although the white cloth and highlights on the sword stand out. I find this effectively focuses the viewer's attention to the faces and hands which is where the 'story' lies.

I enjoy the mild sarcasm of the title. Oh yeah, she's telling his fortune. Right! And he is interested in her words.

Thanks for providing the alternate version which shows even younger models and slight differences in colors. The difference between the two versions makes me curious as to why Caravaggio chose one over the other.

Both versions are so effective and show a sense of playfulness that's a far cry from the artist's 'heavier' religious themes.

Lol. The more I think of it, I think they look like computer-generated animations (like certain anime, of the type it's safe to let kids watch not the type what's-his-face had on computer tabs, or western shows like Reboot and Code Lyoko that look to anime for style) more than game sprites.

129 Trump is a plurality President in a divided nation. Importantly he has strong support among his supporters and the opposition has dick.

MSM is the opposition party, and while it has driven up Trump's negatives in the short run, there's no sign that this will help the Ds in 2018.

MSM is frustrated that the Deplorables won't hear that Trump is a Traitor and a Poopy Head. Because they're Deplorable. And Poopy Heads

But two things to remember--he's getting hit every single day, a never-ending stream of "bad news" that shows no sign of slowing and --just as before the election--some are afraid to admit to the pollsters that they like or support Trump. So 43% IS a miracle.

Then days of stories on Trump's poll numbers implying you need to get on board with this 'Trump is s a miserable failure' idea because look at all the people who already believe this - it must be true!!

I kind of have a fondness for the blue checkmark idiot that's trying to convince everyone they've read the Bible wrong all this time and Jesus didn't intend to found a religion, just to spread a "new way of love".

A word of caution - if there truly is something evil in the house, house blessings often make matters worse. They piss off the evil spirit, to the point where a minor exorcism may be required.

If she needs a minor exorcism the RC priest needs to do that. I am not worried. I stand in the strength of Jesus Christ and have put on the whole armor of God. She will have had a priest come before-twice I think- and I have holy water from the Eastern Orthodox church. She may be the one who needs healing from obsessive thoughts. God only knows

You're a woman of God, Fen. In the New Testament accounts, exorcism consisted of telling the demon to get out in His Name and it (or they) would get out.

Of course, that sort of thing goes badly for those without faith, but you don't have that problem.
