6 Saturday am and living approximately 87 miles from the sun means grass cutting. I don't give a damn anymore if the grass is still wet from the dew. Way too hot to cut in the afternoon.

I will prolly let the neighbors sleep till 8. Prolly

15 It stays hot until October in AZ too, but at least the highest heat of the summer is over. We had three 116 days in Tucson during one week in June, and Phoenix had 120's. Of course, monsoon season has started, so now we have the humidity in addition to the heat. But at least we get a few days when the temps are not in triple digits, which is always nice.

Yeah, how much time has the lefty media wasted on this stupid Russia story, which is much ado about nothing.

Meanwhile, during the Obama administration, Barky was shipping planeloads of our cash and gold to terrorist-supporting Iran, in violation of all kinds of laws (not to mention his own oath of office), and nobody in the media said boo.

But Trump Junior, who has never been elected to any office, had a perfectly legal meeting with some Russians (that Obama let into the U.S.), and those Russians told him that they had dirt on Democrats. What a scandal! No wonder CNN has had non-stop coverage of this for months. Think of the implications! How many innocent Americans will die because Trump Junior might have obtained some dirt on some dirty, crooked Democrats?!?

Posted by: Kreplach
________

This looks bad for Trump. Consider:

1) It appears as though candidate Trump didn't engage in collusion with the Russian government; AND

2) if one were to assume that he did, absolutely nothing would result from such a revelation; AND

3) even if the detached-from-reality fantasy that Trump gets removed from office over this, Hillary Clinton does not become president; AND

4) the coordination between the Democrats and the media is becoming obviously apparent to all as a result of this narrative.

It's a win-win-win-win for Trump, which causes me to suspect that Trump masterminded this whole "scandal." Anyway, that's my conspiracy theory, and that's why it look bad (to me) for Trump.

Speaking of cash for clunkers terrorists about a week ago I was listening to Rush on a long car trip. Rush ran into Ted Cruz somewhere and asked him how the hell a nation as poor as North Korea could come up with the funds to have a nuclear and ballistic missile program.

Ted said that Bill Clinton allocated something like FOUR BILLION DOLLARS to the North Koreans for some sort of 'rural electrification' project. I imagine with the consent of House and Senate.

Someday that money may turn into an 'urban devastation' program for some city/citiies in this country. I'll bet the story of that payoff never made the front page of the Washington Post or New York Times.

yep, one of those industrial parks with lots of parking lots and an access road. Where I learned to drive. first trip tomorrow. Should be empty on a Sunday.

Taught my niece to drive there. Ten minutes into it, she's pulling into a parking space and she hits the gas instead of the brakes. We're headed into a building.

pure reflex, I hit the gearshift into neutral, but we still went over the little concrete parking stop.

I was amazing, did not get excited, we swapped places and I backed up over the stop and we went right back to driving. Got water ice afterwards. Didn't change my underwear until we got home....

79 I wanted to stop by and give my heart-felt thanks for all those who read my comment, that was turned into a thread of its own. I'm so glad that so many enjoyed my recollections.

I do love the summers in the South and when I was stationed in Germany (in the Army) and Alaska (with the USCG), I did miss the slow, steamy rhythm. I missed catching speckled trout and gigging flounder by lantern light on the shallow sand bars. I missed driving to the beach, walking a mile down the west end of a large barrier island and having a bonfire, drinking cheap beer, singing and playing guitars and making out with girls that we would meet.

I remember my father helping me rebuild the 350 in my first vehicle I saved for two years to buy, a 1956 Chevy truck with faded green paint and few rust spots we had to cut away and repair with our cousin's welding gear. When that 4-barrel carb came to life and I could the vibrations through the long shifter, it made all of those bruised and bloodied knuckles and sweat spent in our carport worth it. It's a shame you can't do what we did, searching junkyards for a part here, a part there and working every afternoon on my truck after my father got home and ate supper. I sold that truck years later and regret it to this day.

Back to the present, I've grown so exhausted of the Russkie "collusion" story. I find it amusing these same crypto-commie Democrats, who during the Reagan era cozied up to every Soviet leader, are suddenly concerned about Russia.

If "grab em by the pussy" didn't sink Trump, why do those the news media and their leftist fellow travellers think this will?

VIA at age 15.

My father asks me out of the blue if I want a car at age 16.

Now, us growing up never having an excess of money, this was a little bit startling.

So of course I responded that I wanted my own car for my 16th birthday.

His response that I either needed to get a job in order to buy one, or learn how to build one myself was not the answer I was hoping for.

On the plus side, the abandoned 1959 volkswagen given to me as a gift by a neighbor, that I completely rebuilt, to include engine, electrical and suspension was almost my favorite vehicle for the rest of my life.

My third VW was a 68 that I wound up putting a rat engine in from a friend's Formula Vee race vehicle.

End of the race season, and he was gonna retire the engine.

And by then I was helping out in his shop for fun. So it was a small step to rebuilding it, and making some minor improvements. Dual port heads with dual Webber downdrafts. I can't even remember what size jugs we had on it.
Stinger exhaust and a redline of somewhere over 7,000 RPM.

For all you old fogies, remember the first KZ-900's with the Kirker exhausts?

Yeh...that sound.

Had to swap engines every time it went in for PA inspection.

156 68 I know a couple Morons have noted that some Colorado voters are un-registering due to the Orange Scalp Weasel's voter fraud commission. Insty linked an article saying it's mostly Democrats : https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/270104/

Sort of like illegals self-deporting.

Women and active Democratic voters hardest hit!!

158 Out of the blue I got an e-mail from an ol' gal that used to have her way with me back in high school. She has been married for quite a spell to a democrat rep over in Nashville. She said she was bored and wanted to know if I wanted to rekindle the flame...

________

How does she look? Is she in good shape? If so, don't mention it to her. It's degrading.

If you connect with her, keep any physical contact to less than 28 seconds. Preferably less, but 28 seconds is definitely too much.

If she has children, make sure that none of them has ever visited another country.

Whatever your intentions, restrict your correspondence to emails. That way you can be sure that no one else will ever know what messages the two of you exchange.

(That about covers it.)

159 .So I read the Drudge linked article about th eTrump
Jr. meeting and the possibility of the Russians passing him the DNC
hacked emails. It appears AP is now reporting as "news" stories based
completely on theory and conjecture.

Just like that old TV show with Leonard Nimoy, in Search of.

160 "I was just up there visiting Lehigh U with driver permit daughter this weed. What do they have against building on level ground there?"

Level ground is so ever-rated.
Anybody can build on that stuff.

You try the Yacoos hot dogs yet?

One of the few things I miss about around there.

You must have been in a cave for awhile?

162 Speaking of Volkswagen, are they still on the hook for that "emissions scandal", or has Scott Pruitt nixed that?

164 Oh, buried in the AP story, the supposed spy? He was the translator. Why Donald, Jr would think he needed to mention the translator is beyond me, course I don't work for #Nevertrumpers.

165 My dad taught me to drive in a parking lot. After I got my license, he took me back there in the winter so I could learn to drive in the snow.

166 Steve and Cold Bear:

Been looking for you--you asked the other day why Babe Ruth day was 4/27 instead of 7/14.

Apparently the Yankees held a Babe Ruth Day on 4/27/47 after it was learned he was suffering from throat cancer. He died a little over a year later. They've been celebrating it on that day ever since.
